I am a complete rookie at golf and went to the driving range there. A seasoned player made conversation with me and gave me some advice on where to start and suggested I take a few private lessons if I wanted to learn the game. I thought that was great because I felt that as a rookie I wasnt competing against a click of people who would look down at my (poor) attempts to hit the ball. I went into the club house and the guy at the pro shop was great and gave me all the information to set up lessons.

It is good to play golf by walk.

Course in good shape. Sand in bunkers. Greens good. Only thing I would complain about is carts werent wipe off. Got drenched the first few holesMay be battery operated blower would work..

Wonderful course for a municipal. Totally revamped over the past couple of years. Greens in great shape. Restaurant on premise is awesome, great food and live entertainment every night. Superb patio!

The course was in beautiful condition in latter October. Greens were green and well maintained...a bit slow, maybe.

As more and more driving ranges and golf courses close, AMG remains a reliable option for improving your swing. The driving range is lit until 10pm and is a perfect place to get kids interested in golf for minimal cost.

Fun course and ok driving range. Easy to get to and decently priced. Maybe a little touch up at the driving range but other than that its updated n nice

The course is in good shape, but the whole set up for covid 19, is just mass confusion, and Im not sure how much is actually being done to the carts to make them safe. When finished we parked carts in a line where we picked them up, and I saw no wipe station, or clean out area, not even a hose. Concerned me very much. If they are wiped down or cleaned, its not obvious that people can see. The carts are right out in the open that youd be able to see. I was uncomfortable, but maybe theres more to it that you dont see. Take your chances, I know I wont go back because I dont trust it. Your own call

Course in great condition! Food was awesome afterwards.

The course itself is pretty good. Its in great shape currently across the board. Really impressive for a municipal course especially. During Covid19 they have done an exceptional job managing the guidelines for the safety of the golfers and employees.

I only tried the golf range but it was great. Self serve, super easy to park, nice mats to hit from. Very cheap too. I will definitely visit again.

We ate at Jacks slice at the golf course and they have the best lobster bisque soup.

Nice course. Went to watch my son play in a tournament there.. not being a golfer, I thought it looked nice and laid out well. My son said his team liked playing there so Ill give them at least a 4 star..

The course is in good shape!

They really cleaned-up the course nicely! The locker rooms can use some TLC. Jacks Slice is a nice sports pub for the golfers and general community. A few more tweaks and this can become a destination golf club/sports pub.

Nice setup, will be revisiting this course again.

Driving range nicely maintained.

The course is in great shape. A very enjoyable round. The restaurant on site is very good. Great selection of beer and the sandwiches and pizza are very good.

Great practice facility

Allentown Muni is a nice course but usually crowded with golfers on the low end of the etiquette scale. Slow play abounds. The last two times I played it was excruciatingly slow.The employees were not very friendly at all. This was from the range attendant through the pro shop out to the starter.

This course is in fantastic shape right now. I would have given it five stars if there was a beverage cart during the week. I highly recommend this course.

You should let people know that at the driving range you have to have correct change or you get rip off like I did

Course was in good shape. fairways were very good but green are drying out. but overall the course is very playable.

Played the course for a church fundraiser tournament. It was nice. Im a beginner so it wasnt too difficult. The driving range is in rough shape. First time I went there it took a while to get the ball machine to dispense. And today it was empty. There were about 6 of us waiting to get balls and the guy at the front of line put about $20 in it and got nothing. Another guy called the shop and got no answer. Grounds crew guy told us we could go picking for balls out on the range if we wanted. So thats what some people did.

This is a nice course, right in the middle of Allentown. Theres a good amount of water and other hazards to add a little bit of difficulty. The self-serve driving range and on-site dining options also make this a great place to plan a golf outing.

Avoid late weekday afternoons cuz off leagues but the course is pretty good for a municipal!

Good things cheep...has a wider selection of as seen on TV items since they made the store bigger...

Course gets a lot of play, but is in good shape. Traps are full of sand. Tees and greens are better than average. I like the layout. A variety of holes.

The driving range is turf and no tees provided but its still easy to access and close to home

Played last Friday - was charge Holiday rate for Good Friday, despite pretty low crowds and still being in March, and on top of it found course to be a complete construction zone. Many areas under MAJOR repair, no restrooms on course, greens recently aerated and bumpy. Overall just not ready enough to justify charging full rates. I hope the tree removals and repairs all pan out and happen quickly, but will not be playing again there anytime soon.

Played this course for the 1st time this year, in the last week of April.The greens were in very good condition.I must say that I was very impressed by the course renovations that are taking place here (new bridges, nuisance tree and brush removal, interesting landscaping improvements and more).While it will take a while for the new landscaping to mature, I enjoyed my round and plan to up the frequency of my visits.What had been an average municipal course has now gotten its long overdue facelift. Making it much more friendly for the mid to high handicap players, while still offering a respectable challenge for low handicappers.Its nice to see a local municipal course on the upswing.Congratulations on a job well done!

Held my 1st fundraising tournament today. The golf staff and restaurant staff went out of their way to make everything as good as possible. Lots of positive feedback from the golfers and the other tournament staff! GREAT EVENT!

Cut some trees down opens up the course A lot greens are in great shape. A little more scenic.

Been playing for years, and conditions get better each year. However, there is no excuse for slow play and the management does nothing about it. It will be a scheduling conflict if you play here. Theres a certain class of person that traditionally plays slow, dont fix ball marks, and spend $0 in the club house and restaraunts. You know who you are, and until the management does something about it, me and my friends will not be coming back.

The course is in great shape. Theyve cut a lot of trees down since I played here last year. I think it improves the course.

It was my home course and I loved it. It was a great course but I now have to change my original glowing review. Its now basically a construction site. Its sad but this isnt worth the cost. They took out so many trees its appalling. Its all mud and wide open - no character. There are other courses close by - try one of them instead.

Golfing experience in City atmosphere feels like youre in a country club.. Dont forget about its great watering hole Jacks slice awesome place.

Food is Ok. Just dont order the ice cream it is served in a dixie cup and it was not good(liquid). The service was good. Like to go there to sit on the patio and have a drink.

Nice course and convenient location. Unfortunately, the pace of play is awful on busy days/weekends. I gave up on my last round there after playing 6 holes in 2.5 hours.

Love the course. Great conditions with really nice vistas, some holes are challenging while other reward straight drives and approach shots. Pace of play is what youd expect for a municipal course. Wouldve rated it 5 stars but the people that work there are down right miserable. The pro shop especially. I was considering becoming a member but am holding off until they make some personel changes and improve the member amenities to include the locker rooms.

Outside area is beautiful looking out over the golf course and the setting sun. Food is delicious and priced well

This place is a nightmare. Its overpriced to begin with and its always a minimum 5+ hour round due to the amount of walkers/multiple 5 piece groups Save your money and go somewhere else.

Great Muni

The course is pristine, on the short and not overly difficult side but be prepared for a 6 hour round of golf. Tee times are stacked so there is a wait on every shot and there are no Rangers keeping the dufffers moving. It took 2 hrs and 45 minutes to get in 9 holes and I had to get a rain check for the back nine since a league was preparing to go off of ten and the starter wouldnt let me play through even though the entire hole was open and the league wasnt ready to hit! Very disappointing. The group slowing things down on the front 9 had left.

Only good thing about this place is Jack Slice.
