I have been exploring local parks and walking trails during the Covid pause on travel. Have appreciated all the creeks and green spaces in DFW. Allen Station area is well planned. A good walking trail and a bit of history.

Beautiful restoration of the Stone Dam where steam locomotives stop to refill with water. Park is well designed with a bridge and walkway to safely view the dam. Great signage explaining Allens history with the railroad.

It’s not so crowded that often when I come here biking. I love to explore the abandoned train tracks and the old water station.

One of the hidden gems of Allen. The parking is behind the warehouses so its alittle hard to find but well worth it. These trails also are part of Planos 20+ miles worth of trails. Area is also wooded so the sun doesnt beat down on you while your hiking, skating, or biking.

Beautiful! My only suggestion is to keep the creek cleaner and install trash bin along the trail.

This is a fun hidden treasure just off of a hike-and-bike trail. Its a fun and unique place to bring visitors from out of town. There is parking nearby behind a commercial building - it might be easiest to find the parking spaces by looking at the Google Maps satellite view.

A few years ago I seen a mt. Lion looking cat there. I was alone, and thought it was somebody with a big dog. The cat was big and tan in color with a long tail. I looked for a big stick for some kind of protection and looked back up and the cat was gone.

Beautiful little park with interesting historical markers regarding the old stone railroad dam that still survives, and its associated ruins (the old pump house, and so on). Well paved trail with handicap accessible entry and parking. Some sections of path are crushed granite, but most are concrete. The path connects all the way to The Village shopping center to the north, and to Allen Station Park to the south.

I love the story of this dam and the restoration of the park is very nice. I do wish they had left more of the foliage but I understand why they removed it. The bike path is smooth and new.
