The park has a very wide walking path and a separate bike path, both if which are very well lit at night. It is always very clean and the playground equip appears to be very sturdy and functional. Weve always felt safe taking walks in this park. There is a Capital Bikeshare station available as well.

This play/exercise/biking path is a few year young. Pleasant, well kept area. Very close to new Potomac train stop & Potomac shopping area. Also., with in walking distance of new home for Institute for Blind and annex for Virginia Tech.

Great place for kids! Two playgrounds divided up the age groups a bit, the toddlers and younger children have a space and the 6 years and up have their space. Also a great area to take walks on a nice pathway or ride a bike.

Omg!!!!!! My grandson asked me to drive all the way from Silver Spring Maryland to play at this humongous playground.....and I did because he come alive when he hits the pavement. Truly an enjoyable experience.

Well laid out. Lots of varied play stations for young children to enjoy. Flat surfaces are cushioned material, instead of hard concrete -- comfy for walking and standing. Really nice playground.

Great place, I live walking distance from it. I dont understand though why people drive from MD here.

Our 3 year old son loves this park, plenty of space to run around and play on the structure while keeping distant from other families. Mid-day is tough because there isnt a lot of shade.

This is our favorite park. Great for 1-6. In the summer, the splash park is endless fun. There is a larger kid size and a smaller kid side. The only reason it loses a star is because theres no bathroom. RPCA put up a handicap-accessible port-a-potty, but its not sufficient.

This is one of the best kids parks in Arlington. It could get crowded in weekends so come at 3:00 pm to get good parking spot. The city takes care of this playground and I was happey to see parent - toddler swing added to it.

Play areas are new, full of age appropriate activities, and fenced in.

This is really cool park for kids. Keep in mind a lot of people go there and the parking is is not the best it’s street parking. But there is two separate parks one for bigger kids one for smaller.

Well designed playgrounds for two age groups. Water feature is basic, but out does the job. Shaded benches and picnic tables. Parking.

Nice park and convenient for me. It has two play areas: one for children less than 3 or 4, and one for older children. Negative is it is next to a busy road and parking is limited.

Its broken down into sections so its hard to keep an eye on all my kids because its narrow and long but the place is great. They have a nice long path to skate and ride bikes. I like how they gated off the different sections. You will have to find street parking. They even have water active during the summer.

Kids always have fun

It was a nice trail. It has some background info about Alexandria and where it got it’s name from. They’ve build up a lot of new apartments in the area. Very friendly and diverse community. Lots of variety with the playground. Though the two porter johns stationed outside the play area was a shock. I’m guessing it’s for the people who are playing/running/walking outside.

Could do with some more shade on hot days otherwise we love it. Great they have a big kid and little kid park. Also the water fountains are a huge hit. Bonus with places overhead and the trains going past! Seriously, so much for the kids to look at!

Love the splash park and that the gates all face the courtyard where adults can sit and visit while children are supervised playing. It will be quite nice when the trees mature further over the coming years!

This place is great to bring your little one(s) of any age. When its nice and hot there are water sprinklers for the kids to run and play in the water too!

This park is a gem. My 4 kids range from 12 to 1 and there is something for all of them here. There are also bike and Walking trails and water play for the hot days. Love it!

It seems like a nice place to take your kids since there is a playground. I believe that there is also a basketball court. The roadway beside it has free street parking, and both a low speed limit and crosswalks with red lights. In the daytime this is a very safe place.

Really nice park. Very quiet never too crowded. Defiantly geared to younger kids. Laid out in length more than width. Lots of places to eat near by.

We love the fenced playgrounds and the splash park in the summer. Theyve put some thought into the design of this place, and it shows. Plus lots of friends families and happy kids running around!

Our kids love this park. It’s such a community treasure. Our 4-year old refers to it as the “big, awesome park” if you want feedback from the user level! The tandem swings allow parents to swing with their kids which is very rare in the U.S. there is a park geared for smaller children and another for more along the lines of 3ish and above. I don’t know when the water sprinklers are operational and my only comment for improvement is shade...it gets very hot during the summer days!

Pretty cool rlly neat, and clean, so cool to see the planes flying over it, the swings where such a smart touch, rlly wish that they had a better selection of food

We love this park! This place is very spacious with two large play structures. Tennis courts and basketball! There are also sprinklers for he children in the summer! There is no way not to have fun in this beautiful family centered park!

We come to this park periodically when were in the area and the kids love it, especially during the summer months when they have the water feature turned on.The things we like most about Potomac Yard Park are 1) the secure fencing around each section and 2) the fact that there are two sections according to age.The kids love to start by playing in the water feature and then dry off playing on the equipment. They also love watching the trains come by and the planes take off from DCA. There are picnic tables and plenty of benches as well.The only two things to keep in mind are that theres very little in terms of shade in the summer and also the trash cans have always been full so we bring grocery bags to take care of our lunch trash.Definitely save this one in your bookmarks when youre in need of a new park to visit! Its a great place for kids to blow off steam before or after a flight out of Reagan airport so keep this one in your back pocket!

Beautiful large park with water feature and great playgrounds. There are two separate playgrounds. The one for younger kids features an amazing maze and many fun features. The older kids one is huge. The train tracks that run nearby add an extra level of entertainment for the kids when trains pass. Both areas are completely enclosed and safe play spaces. Lots of street parking.

The kids have a blast at this clean, safe and spacious park. There is plenty for the kids to do to burn off tons of energy. The view is great, airplanes landing nearby at Reagan National, people riding their bikes and jogging. Oh dont forget the park is located opposite a beautiful residential community and shopping area. It may be wise to bring a large hat to shade yourself from the sun. Enjoy!!!

Very awesome childrens park.

We enjoy taking our toddler here. There are 2 very nice playgrounds with lots of fun stuff to do. In the summer, there is a series of water fountains that are really fun for the kids. Definitely recommend for getting some of your childs energy out!

Very clean, great scenery, and after you get the kids tired there are a bunch of near by eats. Also trails and dog parks....

I always take my kids here. They have lots of fun.

Pretty much all one could basically want in a public park; clean, safe, dog friendly, and accessible. I like to walk or jog through and have never encountered any problems or had any concerns for my safety. Although I’ve never used them myself, the tennis courts and basketball court are definitely well utilized and always clean.

This is a great place for families and kids, lots of play ground equipment for all ages. The park also has a large splash pad, my kids had a blast.

Fun park for the kids. It has to areas one for bigger kids and the other for the under 5. Its also wheelchair accessible and there are two swings for kids with disabilities as well as 2 swings for mom and baby to share. In the summer there is also a splash pad. Parking isnt great, you have to find street parking and avoid getting hit as cars speed down Potomac Ave most importantly there are also NO bathrooms.

Great place. Very safe and well lit. Two separate parks for older kids and toddlers. Summertime splash pool. Cops do a great job patrolling the nearby street for speeding vehicles.

Great for young children

There are two playgrounds, one for 0-5 years and another for older kids. The younger playgrounds is great for toddlers. There is also a splash area between the playgrounds that is fun for everyone. It is fenced in and there are good views of passing metro trains and airplanes.

Great place to take the kids during the spring and summer months. There are 2 large parks. And a fountain/splash area.

My favorite park, the kids can play in the sprinklers in summer and I can run the trail...perfect!

The playgrounds are great and this is the only fountain for kids to play in in Alexandria to my knowledge, but it gets pretty messy on weekends. The City needs to pick-up trash more often. The trails are fantastic and my kids love the proximity to train tracks--lots of trains to watch while at the playgrounds.

Great place for the little ones to splash in the water spray and play on age appropriate equipment for ages 10 and under. Top off the fun day with the lunch near the water spray and a walk on the nearby trail. No shade ruined this great playground...This is an incredible playground. It had everything a kid could ever want to play on or with. The problem is that there is not adequate shade. The trees they have planted are very young and are not providing any shade. This makes the playground too hot and unusable. A canopy would go a long way.

Great park with separate sides for younger children (2-5 yrs) and older children. Water feature between the two sides runs during the summer. Limited shade and parking.
