One of the most wonderful historic sites around. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and engaging and we were able to see wheat get processed into flour by the local water powered mill.

Loved touring the gristmill and distillery! Fun to see the grinding wheel at work. Lovely old structures, mill creek, and creek along the grounds. Very fun!

Be warned - this is the ONLY distillery Ive ever visited where you CANT get tasting shots, theyre only for sale back at the House. After finishing Mt Vernon house we left by car excited to do the distillery tour and taste/buy some GW whisky, and while the location and the tour is GREAT (the guides did an excellent job) it was so disappointing to find out that the usual highlight of most other distillery tours - a tasting - isnt available. I guess maybe this isnt an issue for people who took the shuttle round trip from the House, but for the rest of us who drove, it really put a bummer on the end of an otherwise fun day.

Lots of wonderful memories with my family there! There is an abundance in fish and fish species there!

Great addendum to the Mount Vernon plantation. Great information on two of Washingtons most successful enterprises.Oh and this is not a typical distiller. Please dont expect a tasting.
