Well kept grounds around this 5x as large replica of the famous runestone. Its even lit at night. Check out the nearby Runestone Museum to see the real thing.

This is a little museum in downtown Alexandria, Minnesota. The runestone was dug up by a farmer in the 1800s and is quite controversial. Is it a forgery or really proof that Norsemen visited the center of North America over a century before Columbus sailed? The runestone is the central attraction, but the museum also has other interesting artifacts that might be from 14th century explorations, and artifacts of Native American tribes and European-American pioneers.I had a good time. And yes, I think its authentic! Of course, Im part Norwegian...

Nice little spot just off the highway. Large replica of the rune. The actual one if you want to see it is at the rune museum.
