I emailed for info JUST LIKE THE WEBSITE SAYS. They confirmed they didn’t have what I was looking for. That online is incorrect but they do have one similar. After making the trip down there to purchase I found out that in fact YHEY DID NOT HAVE!!! So much for avoiding COVID. The place is a mess. Disgruntled owner talking junk to employees is BAD BUISNESS!!!SAVE A DISAPPOINTING TRIP!!HOAX!!!!

Price gouging on ammo. Employees were glaring and staring, acting shifty. At check out I asked if they offered military discount, which is only 5%, Guy asked if I was military, I said yes holding my CAC card and he asked if I’m sure - as if I’m Lying and my CAC card is fake? Rude as hell. I won’t be shopping here at all, this was my first and last time in here.

I’ve been there couple times for transfers, purchase ammo and magazines. The owner always gave me look that I’m wasting his time. Never happy whenever I purchased something. I like the store and they have some good prices on guns and accessories. I haven’t been there for awhile since my last bad experience.

I called this shop last week and asked if they would ship some of my deceased dad’s guns to an FFL across country. The owner (Arne) told me sure, and that they do it all the time. Unfortunately, they didn’t package them well enough and one of the rifle’s buttstock was damaged. This is extremely disappointing, considering I spent over 2 hours in their shop waiting for them to package and ship the guns... apparently that wasn’t enough time to properly package 2 rifles and one handgun safely. The woman working in the back (owner’s wife maybe?) insisted on using UPS after I said I preferred FedEx... and she wasn’t even able to provide me with pricing for both carriers. So: 2 hour wait to package and ship 3 guns... should have taken an hour max... then the packaging is poorly done and one of the rifles is damaged.

I stop today to find a holster for a G3, The service, the attention, the honesty is incredible. I do not know if she is the owner, but the lady who attended me was super friendly and the other 2 gentlemen too. Great variety of accessories and at very good prices. 100% recommended, Amazing Gun Shop.

Just bought a S&W SD40VE. And the experience was awesome! The staff were kind and ensured I understood the weapon. Not only that, but they went over and beyond to see if the light would fix onto my gun and also the holster. Theyre patience and help was greatly appreciated.

I was very happy with my purchase, but I have to say, the guy was pretty rude and wasnt very helpful to someone who just gave him a substantial amount of money and was interested in ordering additional accessories. He made several off hand comments and took a tone with me. He treated me just poorly. Just left a sour taste in my mouth, I think Ill look for a store where they treat me a bit better and are interested in helping me order accessories. Customer service is huge, so even though my purchase was great my experience as a first time customer left a considerable amount to be desired. And reading these other reviews I have to wonder if they lost a great employee or if he simply disliked me, but it was very rude. I was just happy to leave the store with my gun and that Ill never have to go back.Update: it was you who were rude to me. Glad to hear that my money wasnt substantial or even appreciated. Because when I was in the store it was packed and people were waiting to go in. Because they are local, I used to do business with ABQ Guns and never had any problems. Ever since they opened the new location, their service has declined dramatically. I had a stockpile of new 22 rounds in individual boxes that, at the time, were worth at least $25 each retail. When I arrived, the clerk was not friendly. Even though I had called ahead - I ended up waiting for half hour just to be told they would give me $5 per box. What an insult. Right now, this same ammo is going for $35 each!

Today I purchased my second handgun from ABQ Guns. They are fair, reasonable and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this store if you are looking for good advise, good selection and good people. I prefer to shop at locally owned stores as I feel that you get the best bang for your buck (pun intended).

Nice service. Sold a used gun, but didn’t say it was. Also, said the knockoff EOTech was good quality but only to find out it doesn’t adjust at all. Scrapped it and replaced with my own iron sights. Gun was also bought very dirty and had a burr causing problems shooting. Works fine now.

My father and I stopped in to look for a handgun on Black Friday, and I was not impressed by the service of the woman working. She approached us with an attitude, and completely disregarded my question to look at a gun in the case telling me I couldn’t buy it for the discounted blue tag price. It was our first time at the store and didn’t leave a good impression.

I was looking for an Specific gun “Taurus G2C” no other shops had it in stock at the time, except ABQ GUNS. As I went in the store it was greeted as soon as I walked into the store and was able to find the Handgun I was looking for. Lucky I went when I did because it was the last one in stock. After all the paper being filled out I was done within 45 mins, overall I had an great experience here very friendly, knowledgable service. I’ve been to almost all the gun stores in Albuquerque and I have to say that a ABQ guns is my go to. Not only for the firearm selection but the extremely flexible selection of ordering they can do online, the gun smithing work, accessories available, reasonable trade ins, and the extraordinary customer service. Highly recommend this place for buying firearms or needing work done to your firearms. Arnie the owner always gives me the best prices in town.

I know John Merrill well. I have never known John to lie. I do NOT believe he lied. I have known Arnie to give boundless false information. I also believe Arnie has a problem saying I dont know. I know John did not initially research the Thompson. Arnie lied! I dont like using that word but Arnie coined it here first so I will use it. I know John has never been to the VA. Arnie lied! I seriously doubt John has ever caused problems anywhere. I believe Arnie lied here. The Thompson was an impulse purchase that began when John saw the gun in the store. I know John was concerned about Arnie not calling him back. I believe Arnie lied here again. John wanted to stop delivery of the gun that did not match Arnies reported specs. His main concern was that the wrong gun arriving at the store would delay his finally getting the right gun. He also told me $20 would not change his life and he would help pay for return shipping. I know John tries to support local gun stores as much as possible. He also does this with model airplane stores. John sees value in obtaining needed parts and supplies immediately rather than Amazons 2 days. I also know Johns mailbox has been set up and functional for many years. Arnie lied again. I suggest readers look at the other one and two star reviews. I also suggest they avoid this store. John is a great man and is being slandered by this owner for an honest review. I ask you, is this the kind of store you want to use?===============================Its weeks later now and John still has not been able to get his money back. His credit card company told him ABQ Guns is still processing it as a purchase. Once again Arnie is not telling the truth. He admits in his reply to Johns review that John never took possession of the gun and he even states that John is not out any money but John is out the full purchase price and has no rifle to show for it! The credit card company is doing an investigation but it could take weeks and weeks and weeks they told John the minimum time is 5 weeks. This is another dangerous example of the attitude that the owner of this store exudes. I have experienced his gruff, aggresive, I-know-everything attitude. If you look at the other 1 and 2 Star reviews you will see his attitude is mentioned. Stay away from this store. Do yourself a favor and invest in building a relationship with a good store not one that can turn on you with lies and thefts the way this store did John.

Ive been building an AR 10 and the entire build was put on hold because of a very small part I needed. I called everyone and the only store that had it was Abq Guns. Not only did they have it. Arnie, who I assume is the owner offered to stay open late for me because I was getting off if work a little late. To go a step further when I went to pick this peice for my build up he didnt even charge me for it. So to ABQ Guns thank you for your amazing service!! You have just made another lifetime customer!!

Amazing! I took my 9mm Carbine to 4 gun shops in Albuquerque and not one of them could figure out what was wrong with it. These shops could not figure out my guns issue and they would have my gun for weeks at a time. Each shop would say that if I put $100-$200 in new parts that it might fix my issue but they would not know until I got the parts. I bring my gun to ABQ Guns and in 1 day, they had the problem identified and fixed for $8. The attention to detail, the excellent customer service and the information that came along with the service was first class! They now have a customer for life! Thank you

We went shopping for a gun to suit my wife and we got judged by our looks. They asked for IDs before we can touch a gun. Im Hispanic so is my wife. My cousin was with us. he also asked to look at a gun and was not asked for his ID to hold one. hate feeling out of place

My wife and I came in to look at handguns. Sean greeted us immediately as we walked in the door. He was extremely helpful and answered many questions. I am not too familiar with many manufacturers but Sean took the time to help me look at several brands and choose the best option for me. He also helped me with several accessories including a holster and cleaning gear. After I made a decision he showed me how to field strip and clean my new pistol step by step and then watched me do the same so he knew I understood. Very helpful and very friendly! I will definitely return! Highly recommended!!

Took my revolver in to have a barrel jam cleared. Ernie was very helpful in getting it cleared for me right away. Everyone is very helpful here. Bought my wifes 9mm here. They were very helpful in finding her the right gun. Very good prices. Stay away from the bigger stores in Albuquerque for guns. A bad store like this flows headaches.  A good gun store is a joy.  Develop a relationship with a good gun store you can trust and happiness flows.  I am a collector/hunter.  Tried to purchase a Thompson 1927M1.  Prior to ordering I was assured that the 50 round drum would fit.  Also heard the phone call where the supplier confirmed the drum would fit.  Hours later I discovered in an online download of the manual that the 50 round drum will not fit. I contacted the store immediately so they could stop the order.  I was told the owner would call me right back.  All attempts at contact with owner failed.  Promised return calls never happened.  I am disabled veteran and I ended up in UNM hospital the next day so I could not go physically to the store but I kept my phone with me every minute.  Finally had to give up and dispute the charge on my card.  Store knew right up front I wanted a gun that would use the 50 round drum and the 30 round sticks.  I also told them I would like to order a model that fit this criteria.  Finally did get the owner on the phone to have him treat me very rudely about not wanting a gun I had special-ordered.  No apology for repeatedly giving false information.  No apology for phone calls never returned.  No offer to to order a different model as I had requested beginning with the very first call when I first found out the information I had been given was absolutely wrong.  Owner was very rude and honestly, customer service only seemed to occur at and on the way to the cash register.  Owners anger and rude ending of the call lost him a $1500 sale because I still wanted to buy a model that fit my criteria.  I was even going to offer to split the cost of return shipping on the wrong model.  I always try to support small local gun stores.There are a lot of gun stores in Albuquerque area.  Find one that appreciates your business and not one that acts like theyre doing you a favor to take your money.*******************My reply is the absolute truth. My phone history shows no calls. I did not research the gun because I was going to buy the one Arnie had in the store if a horizontal stock could be fitted to it. I wanted to hunt coyotes with the gun and the horizontal stock would work better than the vertical pistol grip. Arnie said he would find out but never did. I went to the store for s different purchase and asked Arnie if the 50rd drum would fit the 1927M1 model. Arnie has problems saying, I dont know. He told me the 50 round drum would fit also he told me they all have the same receiver. Both statements are wrong. I researched the gun that night because I was fairly sure they all they do have different receivers. Some Thompsons have a top charging handle and some have a side charging handle so I knew the receivers could not all be the same. That was the first time I researched the gun other than talking with Arnie in the store. I was going to buy the store model till I found out it was used. A used gun with the wrong foregrip and no one knew if I could change the front foregrip caused me to order one. Arnie never called me other than the final time about a week later and I had just disputed the charge not the next day I count many lies Arnies reply. I am certain he knows they are lies. I have not lied once in this entire review. Arnies biggest lie for which I will be contacting my lawyer is the one about the VA. I use UNM and have never been to the VA. I swear to you reader, Arnie, is lying! He wrote the first accusation of lies and the old adage is true that the accuser is generally the guilty party!

Great overall experience. Made some purchases over the last couple of weeks. The staff was very knowledgable. Very informative and talked at a level that was comfortable and easy to understand. Never felt rushed and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Arnie had some great advice he shared in regards to ammo considerations and advanced shooting training. Left the shop each time feeling that they want the best outcome for gun owners. Would highly recommend.

I live in the area so I decided to stop by to purchase a new rifle. Walked right in and no one awknowledges me. Not even a simple greeting. The staff were too busy on their laptops than helping me out. I stood looking at the guns on the wall, trying to look at prices, After 10 minutes being in the store I left. Not even one word from the staff when I was there. I do NOT recommend to anyone to purchase from this store. Very low selection of inventory on hand. Horrible customer service. Lots of less than lethal self defense stuff like pepper spray, batons, and stun guns. Prices are about what you will see at most other gun stores. They give a very nice veterans discount.

A testament to their dedication to customer service is me showing up 20 minutes after they close and somehow I catch Arnie and Sean in the back and Arnie STILL helped me find a screw that I lost on my AR. Did not purchase or sell anything, but received valuable information.Stopped by the shop last Saturday (7/14) to sell my M1A Socom 16, greeted by Arnie who evaluated the weapon. He gave me his honest opinion on the current value of the weapon, how the value is determined and how much he was willing to pay for it. He recommend selling it privately based upon what the shop would be willing to pay for it. Took the time and explained the process to sell it privately (bill of sale, only to CCW holders if possible or do a transfer) about it and which websites to use and avoid.Took his advice and had it sold within 24 hours. I would definitely recommend visiting ABQ Guns, even if your just looking for information.

I went to sell a firearm to them. Obviously I knew I would not get market value for it due to them needing to make money however what he offered was straight ridiculous. Looking around at their firearms it looked a bit over priced. I thought maybe I have unrealistic expectations for the price then I went to Bulldog Firearms in Rio Rancho and was offered exactly what I wanted and they even added 20 dollars to my asking price. The firearms at Bulldog Firearms were fairly priced also. The money I received was $150 more than the offer from ABQ Guns. ABQ Guns seemed nice but if your looking for a fair value at selling your guns I would go elsewhere.

DISHONEST LIARI have been trying to visit this business for over a month. I heard their commercial on the radio. At first, I was impressed they have a fair selection for the size of their shop. Prices were comparable to local prices.Everything went south when I noticed two sight magnification devices at the front counter. What caught my attention is that one of them had a sale sticker listing it for $78. I asked the younger salesman to see both items along with the boxes. The regular price ($112) was on the side of the box and not displayed in the display case only the sale price. The second item had a price of $215. At that point, I was about to purchase the sale item. The box no longer had the sale price tag, it disappeared from the display case to the top of the counter.There were 2 items in the case that had the same type of sale sticker. The other was on another site that I was not considering. I asked 2 times about the sale sticker that was on the box that he handed me. I gave him 3 chances to correct himself giving him the benefit of the doubt and he played this game of looking on the floor as if it had fallen off. I could clearly see it in his face that he was lying. You could even still see the scotch tape that was ripped on the corner of the box where the sale sticker was taped. This man is dishonest and a liar and basically he was accusing me of lying by pretending the sale tag was not on the box.I was even more disappointed because I was wearing a veterans cap with a combat award. This place advertises being veteran-owned. I hope the owner realizes what kind of damage her employee has caused. A word of warning, if you do go into this shop pay attention. Watch for the bait and switch. If they lie about a price on an item what else are they not telling you? Shop at your own risk because you have been warned.Reply to the owner, not misinformed. This was my personal experience in your store.

Arnie has treated me with respect which at a gun shop is hard to find.His prices are great. He keeps the ABQ tax to a minimum so his prices are close to what youd find online.His transfer prices are great too.I wouldnt hesitate to send friends or family there.

My first visit here was very nice, and the lady and other guy were great help. I went in yesterday to purchase some items for my new gun. I felt like the individual there did not want to be there at all. I asked questions and felt like he was more interested in making me feel bad that I didnt know what I was looking for, rather then educating and assisting me. I ended up buying the items, but I will never be back.

The guys here are some of the most knowledgeable and competent people Ive dealt with at a firearms store. They have a wonderful wit, and will be able to formulate any info you give them into actual facts to help. If you need top gear with top know how, go here.
