For any history buff even remotely interested in the history of the American navy this place is heaven on earth, me and my friends walked in and got our own personal tour guide (a veteran) who explained every exhibit as we passed them, everyone was friendly and the tour was extremely informative. Definitely go take a look if you can spare a few minutes.

Could not even find the place. The whole area is under construction. Went through a few construction sites trying to find where Google told us it was and I think putting up some signs go help out their patrons would help if they are even still at this location.

Could use some more space for all the wonderful artifacts and replicas collected by this fine establishment. Otherwise, a small treasure of Americas history.

I came here looking for the Nuclear Wessels in Alameda......All i found was an abandoned navy base. I have seen the USS Hornet in SD. This ship was about the same. Be prepared to walk and crawl a ton. If you cant handle ladders, you will not get far. Beautiful view of the bay from the deck.

We had an AIRPAC DET office on the third floor back in the 90s when the USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Carl Vinson, and USS Enterprise were home ported here.

The museum features a large collection of items documenting the aviation history of Alameda, and is housed in a small building which was the original terminus of the PAN-AM China Clipper, the first trans-Pacific airline service.Come visit this gem when you next visit the Hornet Museum.
