Great place to go if youre interested in pinball and video games history. Ive been playing pinball for probably 39 of my 43 years, so this place was like a Mecca for me! Pay one admission price ($15 for me, I got $5 discount for being an AAA member) and play all day and come and go as you please. A great deal, especially since if youre lucky enough to find a machine anywhere now days, they can cost $1 for a single play. The gentleman at the counter was very polite, and very knowledgeable, and gave me a clear and concise rundown of how the museum works. At one point during my stay he was even teaching some children tips/tricks/strategy for playing certain tables. At one point I knocked a rubber off the Metallica table, let him know, and he immediately came out and fixed the machine. They are really all about keeping things playable and the experience great for all visitors. A great time capsule of the sport, each machine has an info card telling the year of release and other interesting info. Theres also various free play jukeboxes throughout the building, so you can play while listening to Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, The Who, and more. Very cool to see the evolution of the Pinball machine! I ended up spending 7+ hours in there (stepped out for a 45 minute lunch, lots of great food options nearby). Left with a t-shirt, some stickers, magnets, and a happy soul! I will be back if Im ever in the area! Thanks!!!

Wow such a cool place. I never liked the modern pinball machines with their flashing lights and loud bangs but the museum has an amazing collection of various machines from the early 40s onward showing the transition from fully mechanical to electronic. It was really truly cool and definitely worth the visit. I especially enjoyed reading the sign next to each machine detailing its history.

I happened to be looking for something to do during the day a could weeks ago. It happened to be a day when they have all-day free-play for $10. This includes the jukeboxes. That includes in-and-out, so I went with my wife, we played for a few hours, went to lunch and played for a couple more.I truly recommend starting with the older machines and moving up through time to modern machines. Its a great way to spend a Friday.Remember, every third Friday its like this. And on that evening theres a DJ as well.

This was a place I volunteered for. It is the warehouse, storage, r&d, fix and repair place for the Pacific Pinball Museum. This is a great group of people who need your help and $$ to bring pinball, art and science all together for the public in Alameda, Ca.
