Very awesome place! Indigo lake is right next to the trail and the train track is just before that. There is a short path that connects a few other trails so that you can hike around the park from this relatively empty parking lot! If you go in the early morning, you can see the for rising if the lake and it looks really cool.

This is one of the larger trailheads in the sections of the park that I frequent. Lots of mostly unshaded parking space. The lot is paved and the maintenance is satisfactory. Here you are within short cycling distances of shops in the Valley, and scenic views of the Cuyahoga River, the Ohio Canal remains, and some good examples of the Canals locks.

Very nice well-maintained path that runs quite a distance along railroad tracks. Beautiful place to walk, run, and bike.... just be sure to go in the opposite direction of the treatment plant down the road!

This is my go to place to decompress and get my couple a week runs in. I love the wildlife and the happy people along the trail. For any newcomers not privy with the trail, dont take up the whole path when walking and keep an eye/ear open for bikes and runners coming from behind. Some of these people are very fast and may not call passing sometimes. Bring a camera as you may see sooner unique sights along the way, aka eagles, beavers, otters, etc. If you want a good chance of seeing the rare stuff hang out right at sunset, trust me. Finally, if you have any questions dont be afraid to catch the volunteer rangers that are out there in the warmer months.Happy trails!!!

Wide, well maintained (as is the whole trail system) and packed with historical markers. A bit too close to the road, but worth the effort.

Great place to park and ride. You can head north through the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park or South toward the Metro Parks and Big Bend. I’d recommend this trailhead more for riding than hiking. Park at the Beaver Pond if you plan to hike

Well maintained easy to walk trail. Mostly trees and typical towpath trail markers at each mile. Very clean. People do walk dogs here. Turtles have been seen sunning themselves here. Be careful not to touch they are snapping turtles. They are wildlife so, dont pick them up and take them home, they are not pets. They are already at their home! Bicycles are allowed to be on this path be sure to watch out for them as they are watching out for you!

This is a great trailhead to jump on to the 87 mile Towpath Trail. There is a rest room available and CVSR Boarding Station. Take advantage of Bike Aboard and ride the train north or south for a small fee. Head north on the trail as south takes you past the stinky Akron water treatment plant.
