Love attending The Battle of Aiken each year. They always put on a great reenactment of the War Between the States. There are also a great number of sutlers and food vendors. Great place for kids and adults alike to learn more about history while having fun. Already looking forward to next years event!

Great show and an unique opportunity for all history lovers and for the kids !This annual event with Civil war reenactments (uh, large show!) took me back to the history. Programs scheduled throughout the day are for all ages. Plenty of displays & shops for unique items related to the wartime. Variety of food stands.Very knowledgeable and friendly reenactors share the wartime experiences. Thanks to their volunteer services.

I had a blast! Living history at its finest. Every person I talked to had a captivating story to tell. Watching the battle itself was quite thrilling. I might recommend bringing earplugs though as the cannon fire was frequent and loud.

This past year it was no so great. The folks who put on the event expected the reenactors to use wet and rotten wood. The battle was nothing to write home about, but not bad. The ball was great.

Even though the weather wasnt the greatest the experience was amazing! They put so much into it. It is very well organized and extremely educational. The reenactors are very helpful and knowledgeable and great with explaining the questions from the kids. Will definitely be back next year. If I could rate it 100 stars I would.

What a great event! This is one of the best reenactments you can attend. I would recommend some earplugs for the show because they fire off multiple civil war era cannons and firearms. So much to do here so plan a day around it. Lots of food vendors to choose from; you wont be hungry! Many gifts, souvenirs, crafted items and even high quality period clothing for sale. There is a camp in which reenactors live for the duration of the event just as people lived in these times; and it is really neat to see. Everyone I came across was pleased to tell you all about the history and the character they portrayed. My son (10 yr.) loves it, as do I.

A wonderful event, family friendly, well-organized. A real- life, accurate history lesson of the sights, sounds and smells of 1860s Dixie. A must for all Americans and especially Southerners to appreciate Southern Heritage, Southern Honor and Southern Pride.

Ive attended the Battle of Aiken several times, both as a spectator and a staff member. Every experience is enjoyable. The reenactors are always extremely well put together and stay true to form. Vendors are always good, and the battle itself is always fun to watch.

The location is gated off season. There is a Winding Road and personal homes all along the trail to get to the location. There is no phone number or contact information on the location to be able to find out how to view or make arrangements to get into the location. The people that live long the road to the location have posted private signs no trespassing so were unable to even go up to their homes to inquire about the site and who and or where to contact anyone.

Its a unique event and a nice day out with family. The cannons are loud so be prepared with small kids. The food was ok but they had run out of ketchup and werent up front about that before we ordered chicken and fries for the kids. Military members are free with id. Bring sunscreen, chairs and wet wipes. Atm on site.
