Bought a home in HRS in 2003 over the past 17 years (especially the past 7 years) it has gone down hill with increasing narcotics (hypodermic needles on site), sales and crime in general every year.While monthly rent increases that quickly out pace the cost of living increases.For the amount of monthly rent charged it is equal to the average house payment in the Lenawee county area.Over the past few years hidden charges have been added to monthly rent with a serious lose of amenities. It has become a regular trailer park the only thing missing is the speed bumps. (Possibly coming soon).

ONE OF THE NICER COMMUNITIES IN THE STATE: We have lived in this community for 7 years and have had a pretty positive experience. The lot rent is the lowest around several counties, the streets are wide, you have your OWN MAILBOX that is delivered to your door everyday and you cant find that anywhere.The management keeps it pretty clean but the new owners do not care for the property like the previous property owners did. I have looked at many, many other communities in several counties and this is by far one of the nicer ones and one of the more affordable as well. Which is exactly why weve been here so long. If you want something done, you have to stay on top of them though - which is one of the reasons they only got 4 stars.

Pretty casual but you do run in to some trouble

Been here 14 years now, at first it was a safe, quite community but over the past few years the quality of residents has drastically been lowered.There are still absolutely amazing people that live here, unfortunately trouble makers are slowly taken over.Management has continued to raise rates as they lower the qualifying standards for new residents.Management have created a safe haven for drug addicts and criminals by closing down the rear entrance to Walmart. This has lead to residents whom walk this path to become victims to harassment by the drug addicts and criminals that have taken over the entire back field and woods of the property. Not to mention the broken bottles, used condoms, drug paraphernalia such as pipes and needles frequently found on the back path.We are currently in the process of remodeling our home for sale due to the direction the community is headed with extremely high rates (more than doubled in 10 years) plus management selectively and suddenly enforces bogus charges such as pet fees $10.00/month per animal even though we own our home out right (paid for from day one). Yet others are not charged even though they also have pets.As residents leave taking their double wides out, Hidden River replaces it with a single wide. At this rate in 5 more years we sadly think it will become another typical trailer park and they will put speed bumps in.
