Great walking place. Really nice green places to sit and relax. Really cool air at dusk and close to the Colorado river. However, lots of dog off the leash. So if youre walking your small dogs and you have your pet on your leash like youre supposed to be doing then be prepared for Unleashed dogs rushing your leashed dog. I wish people would keep their dogs on a leash if they cant control them. Also beware of glass bottles down by the river bank. I also observed some broken glass along the River Bank. Thats the only negativity that I have about the place. Everybodys pretty chill and its a really nice place overall and it really looks like its family-friendly. Good luck!

Awesome park. It has a castle playground, as well as a regular one. Also a nice pond with ducks and turtles, a beautiful walking trail along the Colorado River, lots of grassy open areas, picnic tables, and bike trail. I think this might be the best park in Yuma.

I loved this place because it shows the dedication of the community members after being vandalized and destroyed by fire by some jerks. One year after development was completed. The community chipped in to rebuild this beautiful park. God Bless Yuman Citizens for such a pulling together with love to keep this beautiful place a now historical feature. 5 stars!

Had a blast floating down the Colorado river in inner tubes, while exploring the sidelines which showcased beautiful architecture and history. We were able to stop at multiple sand bars along the way for a break or just to play. We rented a extra inner tube for our cooler to be able to eat and drink as we floated along. Overall the experience was so neat! Would definitely do it again.

This park has multiple areas were you can play. It has a castle playground that every kid will dream to have. It is a maze of fun. Slides everywhere. The park is big enough to play any kind of sports. If you dont have kids then perhaps you should come here for the walk around the lake. It is just a pleasant experience.

The West Wetlands Park is the “crown jewel” of the City of Yuma’s Park and Recreation Department. This rich outdoor recreation venue has the famous Stewart Vincent Wolfe Creative Playground. A well stocked Community Fishing Water. Disc golf course. Free boat ramp launch access to the Colorado River. The Mormon Battalion Monument. And at least 5 miles of groomed walking and running trails in an extended trail system that connects to the rest of the City of Yuma’s linear park system for runners and cyclist.

Fun park for the family.... Its very popular for birthday parties on the weekends so if you would like to rent a pavilion u have to rent ahead of time and if you need time setting up and taking down make sure you count that in the time you are renting. This park has alot of parking and does have a small pond you can fish in. On the north end of the park they have a trail you can walk along. And there is a boat ramp as well. The castle park has been rebuilt as does close at night. They have an indoor bathroom facility (bring your own soap and possibly toilet paper) dogs are allowed so long as they remain on a leash. I do see some parties with alcohol not sure if they purchased a one day liquor license or not. But this park does have 2 playgrounds available. They do have a metal pole for hanging pinatas so you dont have to find a tree.

Great place to relax or have a family picnic/party. They keep the pond well stocked with bass, trout, cat and sunfish. The small jungle gym is great for the little ones and the new castle is even bigger than before. I dont like that they felt they needed to fence off the entire area, but given the circumstances, I understand. Want to fish? They got it. Want to play frisbee golf? They got it. Want to hike by the river? They have the trails. Boat landing? Its there. Have fun, clean up after yourself and leave it better than you found it.

West Wetlands is all you need in a park. From the boat launch, walking/running trails, big open fields, a fishing lake and Arizonas premier Childrens playground (Castle Park) and 10. minutes from a major highway, its a must-see and visit place to be. Highly recommend.

We live in the Phoenix area, but my husband travels to Yuma a few times each year. My kids (currently 8, 6, 4 and 1) and I typically join him for some of the time. This park is AMAZING. I wish we had something like it at home.CASTLE PARK: It looks like a castle and goes on and on and on. As you enter, there are a few smaller things and then the playground is divided up into sections of different themes. Plus theres an area for little kids themed like an old western town complete with a train, bank, etc. It was amazing before, but this summer, they have added a zip line and sope spiderweb climbing structure. I wish there were a close restroom to this area.LAKE AREA: We have spent a little time in the area near the lake. Its nice and quite spacious, with wildlife and people fishing. Ramadas, picnic tables, what I believe is a piñata pole and a large normal playground structure. There are restrooms over here and they are quite adequate park bathrooms. There are several other areas that we have not spent much time in. Walking trails in the trees are pretty. We played by the boat landing for awhile once and enjoyed that. This is definitely a park to check out when in Yuma. If youre visiting, plan at least half a day. :)
