Ian Simon does incredible work, the absolute definition of an artist. I could not be more impressed with my piece, he went above and beyond, exceeding all of my expectations! He & his staff are welcoming and make the entire experience as comfortable & enjoyable as possible. The shop is spotless & well organized, their attention to details are exceptional both in the shop and in their works. The other artists in the shop also do an amazing job from the pieces I saw while there. The assistant does an excellent job and makes the scheduling process as easy as possible. I would HIGHLY recommend Bitter Hearts!

Ian is THE best tattoo artist in the area. I could walk in blindfolded and throw a dart at a board of tattoo ideas and would love whatever he put on me. Love them so much! A great, clean, fun atmosphere. The staff was helpful. Waiting time wasnt long. Very professional. My procedure was quick with minimal pain and heal time was great. The give the best instructions and advice. Ill be back for more piercings and maybe a tat next time. Cant show pic but i had my nipples pierced and it didnt hurt. More of an erotic sensation than anything. I highly recommend it for anyone (smile).

I would have given it 5 stars for the tattoo my daughter got. I gave it 4 stars because of the attitude of the young girl at the counter.

Ive been saving up to go and have Ian treat me like a canvas. Have seen his work and love the styling. Got my eyebrow pierced by the cute hype chick. Havent spent a whole lot of time there but every time I have went, everyone was always very welcoming and the vibe of the shop is so positive!

Amazing staff, they really listen to what you want, draw up amazing work. Ive only ever had beautiful work put on my body. And theyre such cool people.

Dont get me wrong these guys are cool here but I was kind of sad when I was told different prices then after he drew up what I wanted it was raised $30 extra dollars. He seemed like he was making prices up as he went along. He said 2 different prices before the drawing then another after he finished the drawing. After finishing my tattoo it wasnt like the drawing I seen. The coloring didnt look complete. My tattoo doesnt look 190 worth at all. He said he chose this price because he will have to treat my tattoo like a cover up but I can still see the tattoo behind it. Thats not a good cover up if you can see whats behind it. It seems like the only really great artist here is Ian but he stays with a full schedule and he is never in the shop unless he has an appointment. Ive been to the shop countless times and seen him in the shop once during my last visit. There are other places out here that do more for less and will give better results. Ive given these guys 4+ chances. No more for me. Sorry

I have sent so many people to Ian and his amazing artists. Every single one of them have been more than satisfied. Ian is my go to guy! Always does amazing art and an absolutely great person to sit for hours with. I moved out of the areas of over four years ago and still will only let him tattoo me. An 8 hours drive for me is worth a beautiful piece and an afternoon of great company. He is always very accommodating with working me into his schedule when I come into town. His staff has always been extremely chill and fun to hang out with and from what Ive seen does great work too! Love this place and cant wait for my next trip home.

Great staff! Fun environment and plenty of things to stare at when Im trying to ignore the pain lol. I could say something like The artwork is top notch etc. but listen, these artists actually listen to you, and put effort into drawing out the thing that is in your head and give you something you can be proud of. Pro tip: dont walk in here asking about deals. Good quality work is worth the price, but they very reasonable so dont be scared. Undeniably the best shop in the city.

Fast and friendly.Nicole the piercer was awesome I got a double helix piercing and my friend got the snake bite we were done is less than an hour.Nicole was quick and clean. Gave us good advice (it didnt hurt that bad at all). Ill be going back for more piercings soon!

Never a bad day at bitter hearts. Always a fabulous place to be and be worked on.

I live in Milwaukee and was in town visiting my best friend. We made an appointment in advance to get realistic moon tattoos. Wecame in for our appointment, and the artist (Bobby) wasn’t even in the shop —they had to call him in from his house. He didn’t introduce himself to us, be basically made it seem like he wanted as little to do with us as possible. He proceeded to give us the WORST tattoo, which he clearly improvised since the line work isn’t even straight, and it is VERY far from being a circle.I emailed the shop owner, Ian, for compensation since the tattoo and the experience sucked. He cared about as much as Bobby did, which is not even a little. He told me I would have to come to the shop, which I get is the regular protocol for tattoos, but I live NINE HOURS AWAY. It really sucks that I’m SOL simply because I made the mistake of getting a tattoo out of town at a shop that I thought was going to be great. Customer service is a big part of tattooing, and they have dropped the ball on this from the moment I walked in there.

Will be going back for more ink work.

Everybody at Bitter Hearts Tattoo is extremely nice, laid back, and are great people. The shop has an awesome environment to be in, the inside is very colorful, comfortable, and unique! Ian has such a creative mind... I have 1 session done so far but im really looking forward to the 2nd one & more to come. He took my idea of what I wanted and was able to create a breathtaking drawing which looks even more better on my skin. Its nice to have an artist who genually cares about a client. I visited the Greenville, PA location and i got my bellybutton pierced there. The man who pierced me (I never got his name) never went over any instruction with me about what he was doing or how to take care of it. He wasnt very friendly and i had to be pierced twice and i felt like a burden when he had to do so. It was a nice shop and the other people were very friendly, but this one piercer seemed very unprofessional. It ruined the experience for me.

They are actually nice people. Female Tattoo artist and piercer was patient with me coz I have a low pain tolerance. The reason I am giving a one star is because my tatoo, after the shedding process looks uhhmm, not good at all. It is dark some spots, light on many spots. It looks like I have had it for 100 years. I hate it so much. I called after 2.5 weeks and I asked if I could have it retouched to fill in these uneven spaces coz it is supposed to be solid black and they said that would cost $20. I was so shocked, I just said thats fine but I am not paying that. I do not see the reasoning of not having done a good job in the first place and I have to pay for this touch up. Not like I am coming in after a month, a year or whatever that it has faded. I am just so angry but it is what it is. Just giving my 2 cents. attached is what the tattoo looks like after about 2 weeks
