Popular scenic hiking spot with over 14,000 acres of area to explore. This particular Yorba Linda location serves as a trailhead to three trails: South Ridge, a trail leading to San Juan Hill and the Park Headquarters; Easy Street, a narrow pathway leading to Telegraph Canyon Rd.; and North Ridge, which takes you to Glider Point, an area featuring gorgeous views of Anaheim, Yorba Linda, and the Santa Ana Mountains, with Catalina easily seen on a clear day. These three trails mentioned lead to other trails, which are all part of the Chino Hills State Park network. The best time to hike here is during springtime, when grasses create a lush, green landscape with Mustard plants occupying within the fields. Often, heavy rain can result in overgrowth, making trails relatively cramped, in addition to a park closures due to erosion and slippery conditions. On the other hand, low levels of rain mean grasses and shrubs are dry, making the park prone to fires. Based on the conditions listed, you should know when you can visit the park. As for wildlife, hikers should watch out for rattlesnakes, and in extremely rare cases, mountain lions. Coyotes and bobcats are also found here, but should still not be approached as they are still considered wild animals. Please also remember that are plants and animals here are protected. Also, dogs are not allowed on park grounds, unfortunately. As for parking, there is no dedicated parking lot compared to the nearby Quarter Horse Drive Trail Head, which is minutes away. Parking regulations and hours are posted on signs near the entrance. Despite these slight drawbacks, this park proves time after time to be a beautiful nature showcase year-round.

A nice trail that caters to beginners on up. Just remember to be mindful of the parking situation. Do not park on the residential sides of the street.

A pleasant location for a hike. Went to get some fresh air after a long week. The trail is still a little overgrown on some sections from all the growth after a rainy winter, but its starting to improve as summer approaches. There are quite few paths to take, so you can easily make it into a short hike or a long one.

Very fun trail. Lots of different trails ranging from easy to hard. Managed to get up to one of the highest points here and I was able to see Catalina Island! I was lucky enough to go on a pretty clear day. The mountains looked really nice from there too, you could still see the some snow on them.I took my 6 year old nieces and they managed pretty well. Definitely take some sunscreen and some sort of hat preferably as well. We took several breaks and they were a bit tired by the end but they definitely enjoyed it and want to go back.

Massive area with a few different trails that all bump into one another, from the jump there are three different paths you can take. Really liked the duality of the left and right paths, as on one side you can see the vast residential area and on the other unfettered wilderness. Some steep terrain provides a decent challenge. Lots of adorable little baby lizards and the occasional not-so-adorable rattlesnake. Parking is strictly one side on the street, but its not too bad. Lots to explore! Youll definitely have to hit it a few times to see it all (unless you feelin froggy).

Top of the world; Slick place to go with your girlfriend and just chill as you see stars later at night or to see beautiful sun rises. Also able to ride horses or see tarántulas eat a snake if you’re lucky, overall, a nice small trail or take the forever lasting journey one.

Great trail on a beautiful day in Yorba Linda! Weather treated us nicely. There was some leftover mud and water pools from the massive rain lately but nothing that couldnt be navigated. Kids did well with minor complaining in the beginning on some hills (normal kid stuff) but they quickly changed their mood.

I absolutely loved this hike. As i reached the top of the hill i even discovered a little canvas set up with paint for those who reached the top. I was able to add my painting to the collection of others who hiked this trail before me. Aside of that the view from the top is beautiful! I usually don’t like to do hikes more than twice but i will be back to this one

In my opinion the Chino hills State Park is one of the best places to get out of the feeling of the city and into the country. But you dont have to travel so far to experience it. The rimcrest trailhead is a good launching point for hiking and for biking. I use it mainly for mountain biking. The trails in the park are more of a cross country style but I enjoy what it offers. Plus theres pretty good parking at the rimcrest trailhead and you dont have to pay.

The views from the trails here are spectacular, and the silence you find is nearly palpable. Theres very little flat ground to be found here, so it is a good hike for folks that want to be able to work, while not being too rugged for beginners. These trails are also good for mountain bikers, that youll likely see at least once on an hour-long hike.

No longer an option.I was up there today and there are large No Trespassing signs posted at the opening and up along the top of the ridge above Rimcrest.I dont know if this is a local residents bright idea to stop people from parking on their street, or if it is a legitimate prohibition to cross the property between Rim Crest and South Trail.
