Took a walk on a double decker bridge that up until 2008 was for vehicles, not pedestrians. The lower part is .3 miles one way and the top was closer to a half mile, walking over the Missouri River. The views are pretty spectacular and hopefully it wont be as windy as it was today. The wind off the water is so much cooler. Saw evidence of wildlife, but wasnt lucky enough to see any. Fun little side trip, totally recommend.

It was a quick stop on our way from Missouri to Mitchell, SD. We wanted to see the river in Yankton and after driving around for a minute we wound up at this park. It was beautiful and windy with perfect views.

This area is really pretty and very well maintained. There are areas to sit in the shade and in the sun and plenty of benches and areas to eat food. There is a nice playground for the kids and docks for boats and kayaks. The grass is well maintained as well. The bathrooms were all clean too. There are many different historic markers explaining different parts of history. We enjoyed walking around with the kids and exploring. The city keeps this very nice. A sign, the locked recreated building, and lots of parking. Next to it is a 2 level 1924 bridge which i walked across the Missouri on top, and back on bottom. The old town has nothing. Signs lead to tourism info - but never found it.

Me and my boyfriend had a picnic here with a nice view. Probably not the most exciting park to visit in Yankton but well-kept and scenic

Great place to send my bribes to Governor Pennington, his cronies, and their neerdowell cousins or the like, in the territorial legislature, so I can settle a camp on Indian land before a treaty is agreed with the Souix.

There isnt much here but there is a statue honoring the famous riverboat captain Capt. Grant Marsh. Capt. Marsh was the captain of the Farwest. She was the boat that hauled supplies up the river for Custer but most importantly he brought the news of Custers Last Stand to the rest of the country.
