We stayed in the Captains Quarters for a long birthday weekend recently. Having found the Cottages on the internet, I had very pleasant dealings with Dave, the owner, as we went through the booking process. Dave was extremely helpful and friendly and gave us a clear and concise explanations of the details. The house itself was immaculately clean and very well presented. It worked out perfectly for our familys needs and only needed to utilize a couple of the bedrooms. It is lovely house and very comfortable. The location to town was convenient and pleasant with a short walk across the playing fields to the lake. We will definitely be returning.

We had one of our best vacations ever at The Cottages of Wolfeboro. The cabins are clean and well appointed. There are kayaks for use, which my boys loved! The fact that these cottages are located between Wolfeboro Bay and Lake Wentworth was very convenient. So much to do and see. We will definitely be back!

We stayed in the Cottages of Wolfeboro for a few nights in late August and I would definitely come back! Everything was beyond spotless and the cottages are very well thought out. You have the comforts and privacy of being in a rental house with some of the conveniences of staying in a hotel. The bed was super comfortable and our child loved the loft. Even the water pressure was great! The property managers were super helpful and we all enjoyed the outdoor space, for coffee in the Adirondack chairs in the morning or for the fire-pit in the evening, which the property manager showed us how to light. We were about a 5 minute walk into town, which was very charming with lots of great restaurants. Overall, a lovely stay!!

Our family stayed at the Cottages of Wolfeboro over Columbus Day weekend & I cannot say enough great things about them! We stayed at cottage #9 - The Lake Winnipesaukee with 4 adults, one child & a dog and it was perfect. I was concerned that it would be too cramped but it was larger than it appeared in the photos. The beds were super comfortable & we had 2 full bathrooms which was amazing. As a bonus, the outdoor space at this cottage was so generous we spent a great deal of time out there - there is a hammock, picnic table, fit pit with chairs & a porch swing. Our hosts were lovely - so helpful & welcoming. The location of the Cottages is another plus. We were able to walk virtually everywhere all weekend. There is a beautiful walking/biking trail right behind them and sidewalks on the street that lead to downtown Wolfeboro, parks, lakes, playgrounds and numerous restaurants, I hope we can make staying at this cottage an annual family getaway. Thank you!!

My extended family and I stayed in the Main House on October 8-11. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Michelle greeted us upon arrival and took us on a tour of the house, which was larger than expected, and we were impressed with its updated charm (fresh paint and updated bathrooms combined with the creaky floors and doors of an old house)! It was very clean. We were pleasantly surprised at the number of necessities supplied. How nice is it not to worry about the basics -- dish soap, shampoo, coffee & filters, etc.! There is a store two doors down for anything you need. Downtown is a 10-15 minute walk, depending on which way you go. Unfortunately we were not able to take advantage of all the outdoor amenities provided. The only complaint is that the wifi could be better (some people still have to work when theyre on vacation). I would recommend this house to large parties looking for a convenient location.

Review for DavidOur family had a wonderful time in cottage #11. The description of the cottage (and what was provided) was exactly what we found. We called 60 minutes before arrival (as requested) and Lynn was awaiting our arrival. He told us what to expect and gave us a highlighted map of the area. We found an adorable, air-conditioned cottage awaiting us. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows available. One of the features I liked best was the availability of bikes and kayaks. These were utilized daily by our family. We saw the manager, Michelle, walking around daily tending to all of the needs of the vacationers. She always had a smile on her face and was always more-than-happy to answer any questions. We will definitely be returning to The Cottages of Wolfeboro!August 2020

My family and I had a wonderful time at the cottages. They were exactly as described on the website. My kids loved playing on the rings and singing benches, and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Everyone that works at the Cottages is incredibly friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you are having a good time. This was such a perfect vacation during these times especially, we felt incredibly safe and appreciated the masks and have sanitizer that was provided when we arrived at our cottage. This was our first trip to New Hampshire, but definitely wont be our last. I highly recommend The Cottages at Wolfeboro.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Cottages!! Everything was there that we needed. We were impressed with how clean and fresh Everything was! The beds were comfortable and a good nights sleep was had by all. We spent our evenings by the firepit and enjoyed the peace after a busy day! Before we left we decided we want to come back again next year. One of the things we miss the most is having our meals on the porch and being together as a family!!

My kids and I had a wonderful time visiting Wolfeboro and staying at The Cottages. The hosts were wonderful and the cottage was absolutely adorable (and clean)! It was great to be in walking distance of downtown and the bike paths are right around the corner. It was great to have access to bikes and kayaks. (However, you do need to make sure you have a vehicle or rack that can transport the kayaks, because there are no launches within walking distance.)I highly recommend The Cottages. We all enjoyed our stay!

I highly recommend this place, we got the big victorian cottage with 5 bedrooms. Clean and beautiful. Everyone is very warm and helpful, Michelle helped me find cake for my dad’s birthday and made sure we had a great time. Each cottage has its own fire place and cozy sit outs. Great experience, my family enjoyed and will surely visit again

We had a lovely week celebrating our 50th anniversary at The Cottages with our family. They even left us a bottle of champagne and glasses with white bows attached. What a nice touch! We were very lucky to have our own fire pit which was a great place to sit and talk in the cool evening air. Albee beach was recommended to us and we loved it!

The Cottages were everything we needed and nothing we didnt, a great summer vacation spot for a family of four including two boys ages 10 and 12. We enjoyed walking to town for crepes at Seven Suns and biking 2 miles on the trail to Albee Beach. We made friends at The Cottages fire pit and made day trips to Conway and Weirs to round out the week.

I stayed in a cottage last spring and enjoyed myself so much I brought a group back this winter to stay in the main house. Both the cottage and the main house were extremely clean and had very comfortable beds, which is hard to come in a rental these days. It was also a pleasant surprise to see that the main house was very well stocked with paper goods. The location is perfect - we walked into town on both trips. But quite possibly the best part of my experience was working with Dave. He was so kind and accommodating to us, and that really meant a lot. Jim was also great and super helpful upon check in. Definitely a place to stay!

We loved our stay in Wolfeboro, especially at the cottages! What a great area. Our cottage had 2 beds, a lovely bathroom and a kitchen / dining area. The outdoor space was great with a large picnic table as well as 2 adirondek chairs and umbrella. A charcoal stocked grille made cooking easy! There was also a toaster oven, 2 range top burners and a microwave. Plenty of cooking utensils etc, just bring what ya need to cook with!TV was small but had a roku. We didnt really know how to work it but we werent inside much anyways!Albee beach is a 5 min drive and BEAUTIFUL! Downtown is a 10 min walk or 5 min ride and has great shops and restaurants. We loved The Wolfetrap which is on the other side of the water, maybe 10 mins by bike, 5 by car.Great breakfast spots too! We loved the creperie right by the old train station (turned jet ski rental)The cottages are great, there is a common area with more picnic tables and chairs as well as games. There are also first come first serve bikes and kayaks!!Michelle was lovely to meet and they take Covid seriously so you can feel comfortable knowing you are in safe hands!

A quaint retro cottage smack dab in the middle of Wolfeboro. Lovely grounds and outdoor furnishings make it a great place to relax and enjoy family time. The cottages are clean and well appointed with just enough space. With bikes and kayaks included with your cost you can easily get out and enjoy the area. We would stay again in the future.

We are from North Carolina and on a road trip to New England in July 2019 my wife read about the Cottages in a magazine - they looked really cozy and my wife said that she wanted to stay there for three nights. I suggested that we might be more comfortable in an inn or hotel. I was wrong. The Cottages were a perfect choice. Four things stand out: 1 the people - from the first phone call to the moment we checked out everyone we spoke to was kind, well informed, and eager to please. 2. the cozy cleanliness- this place is very neat, attractive, cozy, and clean 3. Well pointed cottages - everything you need is already there in the cottages. 4 location - true you can’t see the lake but you are right around the corner from a wonderful public park, the old railroad walking trail, and within easy walking distance to historic Wolfeboro. Take a moment to learn the walking shortcuts from the Cottages and you will have very scenic easy walks to wherever you want to go. We’ll be back!

Love love love! I dont think we have one bad thing to say about our stay here. Our host was absolutely perfect and everything a host should be, offering suggestions on places to see and things to do. The cottages are VERY cute, and well cared for. Its really clear that its a family run business, you just feel so welcomed! So many fun little games to play, and having the kayaks accessible was our favorite part! Great location as well. Would highly recommend to anyone! We cant wait to return.

The place was cute and very clean. I enjoyed talking to the staff and fellow guests. My problem was we didn’t have a front door we could lock, we only had a glass screen door. So we could only lock the bedroom. The wall of windows in the kitchen and the glass screen door did not allow for privacy. It also made the kitchen area unbearable hot.. so no breakfast or lunch cooking and we couldn’t leave our dog in the kitchen, except at night. ThePlus side very close to town.

We have been coming to Wolfeboro a few times a year and we never even knew these cottages were available for rent. We typically stay at the Wolfeboro Inn which is overpriced with rooms that are always filled with cobwebs. We stayed at The Cottages this weekend and we really loved it. We had multiple beds and two full bathrooms. We had some special requests when we got here and the staff was wonderful. This is now our go to spot every time we come up to the Lakes Region. Beds were super comfy, the place was roomy and comfortable. The staff is amazing. We LOVED it!

We stumbled upon the cottages last minute, after the place weve stayed at for years with my grandparents longer allowed pets. The manager of that place came and knocked on our door and told us that the dog need to leave, that we could board him nearby. We were absolutely heartbroken and refused to lock up my 13-year old 7 lb Chihuahua, who is sweet as can be and has NEVER been boarded since we rescued him 7 yrs ago from someone who caged him nearly 24/7... So we took to Google and searched pet friendly cottages. The cottages of wolfeboro was the first place I called, after looking at different destinations and pictures of places. There was a certain charm to The Cottages that drew us in even from the pictures. After a super friendly, professional five-minute phone call with Dave I knew in my heart this was the place to stay, he even gave me a decent deal that first night after I explained my story to him. Our plan was to just stay there one night and bring my special needs sister back to my grandparents condo in the a.m., and just camp somewhere the next two nights. Long story short we stayed that night, dropped my sister off in the morning at the non dog friendly condo and after a lovely day in the area called Dave and asked what the cost would be for two additional nights. I was given a quote I couldnt refuse, especially considering the 24 hour service, kayaks, bikes, lovely outdoor area, and helpful management crew on hand. On our last day we even ended up adding another additional night, totaling 4 nights. We just couldnt seem to leave this place. I literally was in tears when we did go.My boyfriend, sister, and I were in cottage number 3. When we called there was only one cottage available. I felt so thankful to have a pet friendly place I didnt even care what it looked like inside. But WOW, I was overcome with emotions when I entered cottage 3. It was absolutely perfect and carried a peaceful calm vibe that we SO needed. When I went towards the beds and saw a sign between them that read remember the days blessings, forget the days troubles I started crying like a baby, I felt like I was meant to stay in this particular cottage. It had been a tough few years for us, including family deaths, financial instability, depression, traumas, just life. This little getaway in this cottage was exactly what we needed to reset, re-evaluate, and focus on what we want in our future. Not to mention I was so happy to spend time with my wonderful fur-baby and let him enjoy his vacation too! We used the kayaks and it was AMAZING! Jodie is the on-site manager and she was wonderful, super sweet, really helpful and on top of things. I totally would love to literally live in one of these cottages, Id do it in a heartbeat.Dave, Wendy, Jodie-- You guys seriously rock, keep doing what youre doing. There is such an oldtime feel here, but with certain modern amenities like WiFi and cable TV. Its the perfect combination of past days and modern times, while providing a much needed break from daily life. Thank you for making this affordable for us to stay here, we will 100% be back, hopefully before the year is over.

Our family of 4 (children 2 & 5) stayed in Cottage #11 for 8 nights. The cottages were super clean and tidy and had just about everything we needed! (Only suggestion would be to add a frying pan to the kitchen!). Everyone working at the cottages was very friendly and helpful with local information. Had our children been a bit older, the loft area would have been a perfect sleeping arrangement. This particular cottage had a small closet area in the bathroom which perfectly fit the port-a-crib, and so this is where our littlest one spent the nights. We had tons of fun on the tire swing and playing tether ball, walking to playgrounds (check out the hidden one near the elementary school thats completely wooden - so cool!), and walking downtown. The downtown area had plenty for us all to explore and was a much larger stretch of stores/restaurants than I had imagined. We visited nearby Albee Beach which was perfect for our kids - clean, clear, and clam. We visited Castle in the Clouds, which was amazing, and drove then hiked to Abenaki Tower which had an unbelievable view of the lake from high above. Story Land was only an easy 1 hour drive away - a day trip that was well worth it. In short, we absolutely loved our visit and would recommend these cottages and this area to anyone!

I love the adorable and clean interior of the cottages, the landscaping, outdoor ambiance, the location right near downtown Wolfeboro and Lake Winnipesaukee, and proximity to restaurants, the laundromat, grocery store, and the Cotton Valley trail (hiking and bIke path.)
