I took my daughters and grandson here on our vacation and it was a blast for all of us. I bought them each a souvenir in the shop which were very cute small stuffed animals for a reasonable price. We also bought some feed for the animals. The kids loved feeding the deer, as they eat directly from your hand and it tickles. The animals here are very well cared for. There are monkeys, lemurs, camels, deer, bears, lions, tigers and a variety of exotic birds. The monkeys were our favorite. The staff is very polite and the grounds clean. I recommend anyone with a love for animals to bring the family out for a day of fun. There are also picnic tables to lunch at.

I just love this place, and bless them for being here and taking care of these animals. My favorite is Spark, she is an extremely loving female bobcat, she was captured as a pet once upon a Time and got big as babies do, and guess what, shes still a wild animal but has been imprinted on humans. Velcro is my next who is also imprinted to humans, I bring her apple slices when I come and she loves it. Never thought you could get close enough to pet a deer...... well step right up, she loves apples.

I loved it being a wild life zoo ! The animals in the exhibit were in good health , especially for the heat of the summer experience. The trail was for the most part easy to follow and self explanatory. However, you could see how time has passed the facility by and some areas need slight improvements, just for scenic sake. The gift shop had typical items for sale. I personally purchased 2 wildlife postcards.

A great place for a family to see the local wildlife. Its not something like a regular zoo where you can see a bunch of animals. Its a great rescue place with a great story behind it. The area is big enough but some of the enclosures are quite small for other wildlife to roam around. Maybe they need more funds. Still, worth a visit.

There are too many animals for the size of the park for them to be provided the adequate space and care needed. I was so displeased I didnt leave a review because they dont deserve a star. However, then after the news story hit 6 days ago I decided to look it up to find out if it was the same place. Suddenly the page is blowing up with 5 star reviews when they arent even open as they are closed until further notice. Definitely seems off on that spectrum as well.

I really loved all the options they had, a great selection, really, but the trouble was I couldnt find any prices. None of the cages were labeled, and Im not sure if you pay by the pound or if they offer any wholesale deals. Ive never seen such a great selection of exotic meats, but again, their purchasing process could be much improved. I ended up just bringing home one of their brown bag specials, some kind of rough cut oat cereal. Its a little bland. I tried giving it to my dog, but I dont think animals like it either.

Unfortunately, I promised my kids we could go before finding out more about this place. I thought it was more of a petting zoo type of thing. If it had just had goats, sheep, llama, pigs, deer, etc. it would have been great. But, then it had monkeys, lynx, and especially the bears in really inadequate enclosures and it was really sad. As much as my kids loved feeding the goats and such, we wont be going back.

Enclosures for big cats and monkeys are way too small. Pigs had no water. Leaf litter piles should be cleared from the fence edge where people walk and feed the animals, good place for snakes to hide. The rest was good and adequate.

It was a pretty cool experience taking my family to Wilsons. My boys had an awesome time. Lions, lemurs, peacocks, a zebra, a white tiger, bears, and many other animals. I loved the signs telling about the animals. We briefly chatted with a worker. He really seemed to know a lot about the animals, their behaviors, and showed real caring for them. They also had a small play area that provided a nice break. I hope to visit again soon and bring along some friends and family.

My boyfriend and I visited Wilsons today and I have no clue what these people on here are talking about!! We fully enjoyed walking around and feeding the animals and it was only $8 a person. You cant beat that!! None of the animals looked in bad shape, all were very friendly and not threatened, and were a fun to interact with. The only thing I could understand people saying something about was maybe the bear cage but as my boyfriend explained to me, they may not be in a grassy area because they could dig under it. I do agree though, for 2 bears, even the concrete cage could be bigger. As far as the tigers being unfriendly or non interactive, ITS HOT OUT!!! Today when we went it was 92° out. I dont even want to interact with people when its hot out! They were lounging in the shade when we were there. And as far as no food or water, every bowl we saw was full and there were mountains of straw/hay everywhere. Im very happy I didnt listen to the reviews on here and checked it out for myself! Kudos to the owners for not ripping people off on a cover charge like other places do and maintaining, what I could only imagine is a lot of work, a well kept happy place for these animals and people to visit! I would definitely go back and recommend friends to visit!

Wilsons Wild Animal Park exceeded my expectations! We visited on election day (kids were out of school and the weather was amazing) and, to my surprise, the place was not at all crowded. I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot more than just standard petting zoo animals and my kiddos enjoyed feeding the deer and goats. All the animals looked amazing (clearly well-cared for) and were close enough to see. This place feels more like a wooded park that also has some interesting animals in enclosures than a typical metropolitan zoo and thats one of the reasons why we enjoyed spending time there... felt closer to nature.

DO NOT Go to this zoo unless you advocate torturing animals for profit. Here is a quote from an animal organizations recent visit:Wilsons Wild Animal Park has been cited for inadequate veterinary care, inadequate caging for dangerous animals and not giving primates enough engagement. Right now, there are multiple bears out in the sun with no water. One bear was even eating urine-soaked food. The bears have been seen pacing as well, which is a sign of severe psychological distress. They are leaving these animals out in 100 degree weather on hot concrete with NO water. The bear had to drink his own urine! This is disgusting. Please DO NOT go here.

I’m calling to urge you to provide the desperately hot bears at your facility with at least natural terrain and an adequate pool and to consider retiring them to a reputable sanctuary. I was appalled to learn that they’re confined to a concrete-floored enclosure and that they’ve been seen panting with no means of escaping the heat. These animals deserve to live in vast habitats where they can exhibit normal types of behavior, such as digging, roaming, swimming, and foraging, rather than spending their lives on a hot concrete slab in enclosures in which they can barely take a few steps in any direction. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I took my children here yesterday and was HORRIFIED at the living conditions these poor animals are forced to endure. There was lack of fresh water (or any water at all), lack of fresh food (the fruit we did see was brown/wilting), and no shading for the animals in their too small cages. What Wilsons did provide was a concrete based boxed cage, with feces and some hay in which they could lay. There was no stimulation for these animals; most just slept. The animals health is not a top priority! Several of the animals were pacing their too small cages, had hooves that needed to be trimmed, and one of them had a hurt back leg which prevented it from keeping with the herd. I will NEVER spend my money here again. Im not quite sure where it goes!!

My family went to Wilsons yesterday, it is a very nice, shaded area...it was pretty clean...my only complaint is the amount of space that the animals have. The Bears have a tiny concrete cage with no grass area that they have access too. The Bengal tiger was miserably hot and panting in a very small fenced area, alongside the lions. The zebra was alone and you could just see in his eyes pure sadness. Although I know they are fed and taken care of, they are not meant to be in such small containment areas. I hope to see Wilsons upgrade some of their cages and provide the animals with more freedom. It was a nice experience and I enjoyed feeding the goats. With that being said I will not return until construction and upgrades are complete. Also, if you decide to go as a family pack a lunch or some snacks, no food there or in a close proximity. Its worth the $8 though.

We visited the animal park this past Saturday and, though it was pretty rainy, we had a lot of fun! There is a great variety of animals to look at and quite a few that you can feed. My one year old son really had a lot of fun here. It was not too busy at all, but the weather might have had something to do with that. Either way, the place is very spread out and provides for a nice afternoon of walking and exploring the different animal exhibits. We plan on going back again in the near future! I thought the pigs wagging their little tails were hilarious, but wish I had a quarter with me to give them some of their special food.

Ever wonder what it would be like to have a private menagerie on a beautiful piece of land? That is the feeling you will get at Wilsons. Its located on 100 acres, 15 of which you will walk through on paths and shady trails, the rest of which goes into giving the animals plenty of room. All around are plants and flowers, it really was quite lovely.I was comfortable letting my toddler rub around a bit as there wasnt any crowd, which is what gave it that private managerie feel. There were also lots of animals to pet and feed which was a lot of cute fun. Alpaca camels, deer, and pygmy goats were all friendly and none were rough when taking the food.Other animals we saw included a zebra, lion, camels, bears, monkeys, exotic birds, and small cute furry things.Everyone has a large area and seem happy. I would prefer going here than the trip out . The national zoo with a really small kid. You wont have to wait in line to see anything here! Also plenty of picnic area so bring a lunch if you like.
