Colohatchee Park was a lovely park back before it became an animal park. My family would picnic there...walk along the boardwalks and we would watch our children on the songs and other fun things there. An occasional train going by was a great treat. In fact we hired a gentleman who was a Park Ranger named Anthony yo film our wedding...but they took the kid stuff out...and cater to dogs... It WAS a good park.

Loved this Park. Looks like nothing from side of road really but still intriguing. When I entered you walk down this wooden bridge for a decent walk with this lake and trees as far as u can see. I will admit I did get a little spooked at first being a girl on my own however I made it down the bridge and got to a awesome dog park. It has a grill and covered seating with a playground and a dog park behind it. People were so pleasant and dogs just adorable! Will definitely being my dog!

Used to love this park. Its a few block away from my house over the bridge. It was buried in the woods. It had tons of open space, a dog park, a childrens playground, pavilion with picnic tables, a volleyball court and a basketball court. Total Scrape. Now it looks like a prison yard filled with chain link fences and key FOB access points. All above mentioned is gone except for the dog park which is private now. They added some exercise equipment and a sidewalk or jogging path around the prison yard fences. Definitely not family friendly anymore. I sit on the Parks and Rec Advisory Board for the City of Fort Lauderdale and Colohatchee Park is the example I use for what we DO NOT want to do to our parks. I only wish I had pictures to show the stark difference of then and now.

Very well kept and a nice trail with scenery to take cute pictures! The only issue I have is that many people do not adhere to the weight limits. There were a number of small dogs on the big dog side and small dogs intimidate my dog and cause her to get defensive and uncomfortable. But that is more of a critique towards other people rather than the park itself.

A nice quiet walk. Beyond a small but well maintained parking lot, there is a short but enjoyable walk on a boardwalk above the mangroves. At the end, you come to a dog park. You must sign up and get a pass from Wilton Manors to enter the park which has nice separate fenced areas for large and small dogs to be off leash. There are restrooms here as well as water and also some public work out equipment.

The new layout of the dog yard is nice. There is a new workout station located in the corner near the new apartment buildings and a new paved walkway which encircles the dog yard and picnic pavilion which has a new stamped concrete floor made to look like big stones. The boardwalk leading to the dog yard still needs a way to clean up after the dogs whose parents dont clean up after them...

Beautiful park. Love the trail over the water through the trees that area growing in the water. What a unique park. A part of nature I didnt know existed in the Wilton Manors Area. And to top it off, at the end of the trail, there was a park with an exercise area, dog park area, plenty of covered shelters, and trees I were able to set up my hammock on to relax in the shade and enjoy the fresh air.

It doesn’t matter if it’s $3, or $300, charging your residents an “entrance fee” for their dogs, to a park funded by TAX money is completely WRONG! Mayor Flippen and all of the other commissioners who let this happen, shame on you! I’m still waiting on a response from the mayor of Wilton Manors Justin Flippen regarding any programs in place for those dog owners who cannot afford the $30 annual fee. This park’s renovations allegedly cost 1.8 million dollars including a newly paved and lit parking lot of

DOG PARK COSTS MONEY!!!!!!! Who has very heard of a dog park that charges money....I live in the metropolitan.... and when they were rebuilding it.. they were coming through the complex every day destroying everything.. dirty up the parking lots and bringing their heavy machines through.. and now they are charging me to use it? NOPE.. plenty of other better parks around ... GO TO HOLIDAY PARK in FTL

Backwards reasoning rules corrupt Florida with immoral Entrapment laws☆ keeping our citizens under Educated with a horrible #healthcare system where it takes 3 weeks to get a knee operation ☆

Its a nice place. There is a small park place for the children to play, and there is like 8 benches with one of those beach type grills, and there is a little nature walk to get to it so its nice. I would recommend going for a huge group of people if you want a party or something. There is also bathrooms and a water fountain.

Seriously $30 for a permit for a tiny dog park. Bark park on 38th is 3x the size and FREE. Plus the people are nicer they don’t act superior bc they paid a $30 permit fee. Save your money. Avoid this dump and go to bark park. Oh and bark park has doggie pools to help the dogs not overheat. Colohatchee doesn’t care enough to give you a pool. $30 for a small no pool park or free large park with lots of shade and pools?

Park is closed for renovations from September 2018 until sometime in early in 2019. Im writing this review because nowhere on here does it tell you that. You have to drive over there in order to find out for yourself by meeting a locked gate with only a banner stating sometime early 2019...

It used to be nice to take my dog out for a run, however it is not taken care of. There is a lot of men hanging around without dogs and trying to appear anonymous with their phones. It is just too creepy and uncomfortable for those of us just wanting peace to use the park as it was intended. Sorry, my dog and I will not return.

Visited today, after the recent reopening of the “improved” Colohatchee Park. I was so disappointed and sad that my beloved park is ruined. What was once a natural, beautiful environment is now a sterile set of cages. Whomever “designed” these “improvements” must not be a landscape designer, did not do their research and must not have a dog- The water fountain is outside of the dog area gates- the small shade features are useless, the benches have been removed, the 3 areas feel like cages in the center of the park, the Bermuda grass they used will be ruined in two weeks- that is if people sill come. I doubt it.Also the children’s play area is removed. There is not one bench along the outer walkway (which really does not belong in this park) what about our older residents who may need to rest while exercising in the heat? The cages but up against the pavilion-so now it’s useless. ——What a waste of money and a once beautiful park. My dogs and I will miss our old park.

I was very disappointed the park used to be open very little fencing now they have fencing 8 feet tall taking up 90% of the picnic area and Park for the dogs. Now I have a dog but it just looks terrible and charging the residents of Wilton Manors $15 to play with their dog there is obscene after all the taxes they pay already when is it ever going to be enough for these politicians.

This is a cute little park off NE 15th Ave with a boardwalk over a small mangrove wetland and a field offering offering a basketball court, covered Pavillion, restrooms, small playground, and two enclosed off leash play areas for dogs, as well as a boat launch across the street. It looks like some of the bigger trees were blown over during the hurricane in 2017, otherwise the park is in great shape. Parking is limited to about 20 cars.
