Review №1

The Boston Post Road Historic District has National Historic Landmark status from the National Park System not only because of it association with American Founding father John Jay, but also because of its archaeological significance. Eagle Scout Christopher Parker, is leading a new exploratory project at our site under the supervision of Prof. Eugene Boesch. Prof. Boeschs work has included studies of the African American Burial ground in Manhattan and he is well familiar with the importance of the Jay site.Yesterdays team uncovered what appears to be the remnant of a stone wall or foundation together with pieces of glazed slipware, coal, kaolin pipe fragments and handmade bricks from the 18th century. The De Toro family pitched in and Natalie De Toro spotted a beautifully stamped bowl fragment with what appear to be initials O and I or J. All work is being carefully executed and were excited to see what more might be found! Stay tuned!
