Wonderful place to visit. Yesterdays warm fall weather provided a spectacular opportunity to visit this historic landmark. I wish the tower was open and the leaves were still in season. Either way, I would highly recommend the visit if you are in town.
Terrific spot within Mt. Auburn cemetery! Come during the warmer months and climb the stairs to the top. Fantastic views of Boston, including a clear view of the golden dome of the statehouse
Fantastic views. It closes at 5pm, so get there earlier! There are some dark spots but the stairs have white lines on the edges to make them easier to see.
Amazing views, panoramic way of seeing how green Boston is. If you have little ones with you be mindful of the relatively low railing, but other than that the climb is okay for kids -- about 90+ stairs.Personally I had hard time locating the tower as the cemetery is huge but if you have a car its easy enough: dont skip it!
From the Tower you can have a great view of the Cemetery, and an exceptional view of Boston. An unforgettable bicycle trip in a fantastic autumnal day
Nice view
The best place to see the changing colors of Fall in Boston
You can see a lot of Boston if you make it to the top.. beautiful.
My favorite destination when I walk in that beautiful, tranquil cemetery/arboretum. The tower is the nighest point of the otherwise flat Boston area. It is a short, steep hike to go up there. In the summer we can even clime the stairs to the top of the tower overlooking the city.
Its a simple tower in a cemetery, but it was a nice view of Boston, it was fun to go up, and it felt old and historic somehow.
Mt. Auburn Cemetery is a beautiful place to visit, and the tower is the highlight of it. It offers amazing views of Boston, Cambridge and tbe surrounding towns. A very long landscaping effort has just finished in the area, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Definately worth the visit. It is open sunrise to sunset, and closed in the winter. Park in the road around the tower. Be aware that parking is prohibited on the smaller roads in the cemetery.
Great views of Boston and the surrounding area from this tower in the center of Mt. Auburn cemetery. Bonus: parking is free and the cemetery grounds are spectacularly beautiful and full of wildlife. An urban oasis. Worth pairing with a stop at Sofra just down the street for a delicious outing.
Secret spot to get the best 360 degree view of metro Boston, especially during Fall foliage season
Absolutely gorgeous. A peaceful Oasis from the city madness.
Great views from the top. Steps in very good condition. Good handrail. The rail at the top is high enough for someone with a fear of heights (me) not to be too worried.
One of my favorite views of the city
Viewing tower on a hill in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Panoramic views of surrounding areas. Reached by Foot or by car in the beautiful Mt. Auburn Cemetery, the first garden cemetery in US (1832). Spectacular scenery, monuments and names that prod your memories of US history.
Beautiful and historical landmark in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Great place to walk alone, with a partner or group of friends.
Really beautiful area to walk around in. The Tower is a great place to view the city and take photographs, but the cemetery is really fascinating itself.
Beautiful trees, grounds to contemplate the life you have left. The tower is fun to climb, with a nice view of Boston skyline, including the Citgo sign.
Great view of the metro area! The tower is closed in winter but the hill is still worth the visit.
Gorgeous 360 views!
Beautiful view of Boston, Cambridge and the surrounding area
Fantastic view!
Other than the top of William James hall, this is the best view of Cambridge.
One of the coolest places Ive ever been! Its a peaceful, wildlife filled, sanctuary just minutes from downtown Boston. Next time I go back Ill plan on staying at least 2-3 hours!
Great view on Boston especially during foliage. A bit strange: While cars are allowed bikes get tickets.
Fantastic view around Boston, Cambridge area if climb to the top
Great view onto Boston Skyline! Sadly it is only open during the day.
Really nice place inside the cemetery and not hard at all to find if you enter from mount auburn st easiest way is to follow central ( which when you enter is to your left near the visitor center) ave to walnut then go right the tower is not really in view but it is in your left on top of the steep hill you can follow any of the little surrounding paths around it ( most recommended in my opinion is the fern path it goes Down hill just off the tower grounds and the tower is no more than 50-100 feet away less). Place is easily accessible by the 71,72,and the 73 buses all going to Harvard Alewife is also not far either if you know the area and fresh pond. Overall the entire place is beautiful from the graves decorations the grounds monuments and the tower best views just west of Boston and only 15-20 minutes away definetly come by and see. Also I think the tower is only open until 4pm during the spring/ fall summer is until 6 and winter closed based on what I have read/ heard.
Amazing view of the Boston and surrounding communities.
Beautiful walk with great views!
Its not only a cemetery, its a secret garden of Cambridge.
Leaf-peepers paradise
This place is a beautiful sanctuary.
Well worth a visit
Absolutely amazing view, a real overlooked gem of Cambridge
Beautiful views, peaceful cemetery surrounding. The tower is open until 6pm in the summer.
Beautiful scenery in an elevated cemetery with excellent views of Boston and the surrounding area.
Best view of Boston and Cambridge, and its free!
Incredible views of Boston surrounded by a beautiful cemetery.
This place is closed during the winter. Too bad, especially when its warm out I wish they wouldnt lock it up this season.
Great place to visit

You have to go up there ! You can see it from downtown.
One heck of a view from up top!
Tower closes at 6pm, but sometimes theyll let you stay until sunset.
Looks nothing like Washington.
