I have visited twice and both times it was a great experience. The bathroom was clean, there was soap and paper towels, the drink and food selection was decent and staff was more than friendly and accommodating. Social distancing is definitely being practiced and taken seriously. If you have the opportunity go check it out, laughter is good for the soul.

My first time visiting the funny bone was to see Tacarra Williams!!! My favorite comedian! I enjoyed her show and had a great time at the club. It was a little tight in there with a very full crowd, but Im glad the couple we had to share a table with was cool. The table next to us kept talking loudly and disturbing the show! Service could have been better, wait times were longer than I liked, but honestly had I not enjoyed the acts of that night so much my rating would have been lower.

Atmosphere was nice, great comedians, food was good. Most of the staff was cool but one. Dont accidentally bring in something like a soda from the outside, they will threaten to throw u and your party out.

Bruce Bruce was funny as ever. Im also impressed on how Funny Bone is handling this pandemic. The social distancing was and is enforced. And I feel comfortable coming back and seeing another show and laughing the night away.....

Had a good time, laughed really hard, drink some good drinks, and ate delicious food! The shrimps were humungous and tasted so good!!! Had a very nice time out and will be coming back! Very nice for date night or just to hang out with friends or family! Our drinks even came with glasses to take home!

Nice food menu and awesome waitress staff! Main event comic could stay on at least one hour and twenty minutes. Most stay on at least one hour. Great place for comedy and joke skits!

Ive seen at least 6 shows here and Ive throughly enjoyed them all. Tickets are cheap, drinks are good, food is so so, but the comedians are the best. Great date idea. Get there at least an hour early to sit closer to the stage.

Ive been here numerous times over the years to see comedians. Ive seen Kevin Hart, Dustin Diamond, Rob Schneider and others here.Its cool that we have a comedy club in the heart of the city to go and have some laughs.They have a full menu served during most shows with appetizers and burgers and salads as well as full bar drinks. They used to have drinks where you got to keep the glass (not sure if they still do).Its easy to find and parking in the garages nearby is easy. Located close to a bunch of restaurants and shops so you can make a dinner, date, day out of a trip here.Its adults only and they check ID at the door so remember to bring it with you because you wont be allowed in without it. They usually have multiple shows and times for each comedian and if theyre a big name theyll have a weekend full of shows so you can choose if you want earlier (like 7pm) or later (like 9-9:30).They do rent out the upstairs for parties from time to time so there will be folks in the upstairs area walking around.

So much better!! Ive always loved the ambiance of the Funnybone. Bc of Covid everyone is spaced out and in my opinion it should stay that way. No one is on top of each other, ur able to move around freely. Its much more relaxing. I truly njoyed this night especially bc of my baby Corey Holcomb

I realize this is a tough time for everyone, but I keep trying to contact this place because the show I was supposed to go to got canceled, and no one will get back to me about rain checks or refunds. Guess Im out $50, huh?

Convenient location for the area - right in Virginia Beach Town Center. Limited street parking but several parking garages nearby within short walking distance. Average wait service for a comedy club, no drink minimum. Food is pricey for what you get. We were charged 10.99 for 4 small potato skins. Eat at one of the nearby restaurants... plenty within walking distance. Aside from all that, good place to see a show. Handicap accessible.

Went to go see an old friend perform. Great time, friendly staff. The food was delicious. Messy Meat nachos and a drink that was better than its name. Rubber chicken had a great time. Left my souvenir glass though. It was a nice one at that. Recommended get VIP or balcony.

My wife and I tried this place out for a date night. The entrance is on the second floor and if youve never been there may take a second to find. The show was good however, they pack people into small tables so be prepared to sit closely with strangers. We will go back because it is an affordable night out but could be better.

Ive been here a couple times now when I visit Virginia Beach and there has been some pretty solid comedy here. Ticket prices are generally priced reasonable, and theres been a great mix of upcoming and legendary guests in the venue. Its a pretty sizable place and in a good location.Seating wise, its really frustrating here because they have the tables and chairs so tight against each other. And Sometimes when there is a fuller house, they may sit other people at your table or even split groups to fill all seats before even all the tables are full. Last, the food could be better :/Great spot, but it would bode well to make some improvements.

THIS PLACE IS SMALL. You sit where they place you. The tables are small the seats are hard and small. You will sit with strangers. You have no say so at all. The talent is great, but this venue needs to be bigger and more comfortable for the ticket cost. I dont like people I dont know that close to me..

I bought tickets for Tuesday show that was supposed to start at 6:30pm I got there at 6pm and the box office was closed so upon looking at my reservation they changed the time to 12am so I waited until 12 am and the club didn’t open that straight scamming people out of there money don’t purchase tickets they are closed so know an going to notify my bank I need my $148 back no voucher no credit cash only don’t purchase online tickets don’t purchase online tickets

I really enjoyed my first time there my table was right in front #RealMarkCurry was simply hilarious my waitress was attentive and pleasant seating annoying but overall I enjoyed myself LMAO

I have enjoyed every show I have seen here! That said, this place really needs to work out its seating. It is always a huge mess when everyone enters the venue. I would definitely suggest assigned seating online if possible!

This is a great place to see both up and coming comedians and veterans of the trade. The way they seat people could definitely use some work, they guide you to where they want you to be with no respect of empty seats that may be in a better location and then blame the size of your party only to see a party of the same size seated there later...but there is no reserved seating...okay. Some of the staff would also benefit from personality makeovers but thats just my opinion. Great place for comedy irrespective of the employees.

The comedy was good but I regret doing the Valentines Special Date night. They were clearly understaffed and ill prepared to handle all the customers that night. When we got our meal (almost two hours in) the show was almost over. The food was good but the wait was not. :/

The TJ Miller show was awesome. He couldnt have been more friendly after the show for VIP guests. Staff is amazing. I recommend to everyone

Funny Bone offers a quality comedy club experience for the most part. The food is good, and the service is decent. My last server was slow on my refills, but that didnt sour my overall fun. The barbecue potato skins are delicious. The comedians are usually good. It seems like whenever there is a more famous comic, it isnt as fun. The no-names are usually more hilarious. I can tell theyre hungry and work harder for laughs. So, I prefer nights when there isnt a special engagement. Funny Bone offers great discounts and promotions, and that also encourages me to return more often.

Eat before you go to this place. Service is horrible . By the time you get your food the show is almost over.

It was a good time. We enjoyed ourselves.The drinks are a bit slow, but thats too be expected with such a full house, do no real complaint there.Overall, a good time.

To be honest, the comedians were great but the staff sucked. This was our first time here and we waited an hour for our food not to mention, no apology from waitress, and no offered discount. We paid full price. I do not recommend this place. I would try it one more time to be fair but this really ruined my time.

The Funny Bone club continues to entertain at its best. Been coming for years because the host the best comedians both nation and local comedians from movie stars to just fresh out of comedy school. Not to mention a great staff with great drinks and appetizers to keep you energized and laughing comfortably throughout the show. Always a must visit spot in the Virginia Beach, Towncenter area.

Fantastic time, with no drama

We have been to the Virginia Beach Funny Bone several times to see various acts over several years. We had always been seated on the main floor in the past. While some spots have been a bit cramped we could still see the stage pretty well. That all changed a couple of nights ago when we went to see Sinbad. This time we were seated upstairs, for the first time. Our table was on the left side of the stage, with 4 chairs, just like below. However, this time, once four others were seated at the table behind us, when I turned around I couldnt see anything to do with the stage; not the person performing, not even the top of his head, not the floor of the stage, not even the large screen up front. I was going to have nothing but audio. Some great experience! There was no room at all to see due to the people at the table directly behind us blocking the whole view. I mentioned this to a server, and asked if something could please be done. She never came back and told us anything. I paid for my ticket, just like everyone else did at that show, but nothing was done by management to help me enjoy it. Fortunately my husband switched seats with me and, being a gentleman, he stood for the entire show, even though at times even he still couldnt see everything, and hes tall enough that it shouldnt have been a problem. The tables upstairs on the left and right sides need to have a lot more space between them so everyone up there can experience the shows just like the people downstairs. I will definitely be contacting management about this.

Funny bone is the best comedy show Ive been to so far. 5 star performances, I would highly recommend this spot for date night. Also good drinks and if the bouncer thinks youre cool you could score free tickets on spot like me. Good prices friendly staff clean environment with 2 levels if seating, Ill definitely be coming back.

Located in beautiful Towne Center. Intimate venue. Orderly entrance and exit. Great food and drink service. Reasonable admission fees. Great headliner performance. My new favorite place in Virginia Beach.

Love the Funny Bone for the acts that it brings in, I hate the partner with another party aspect of the venue. I don’t like having to sit with strangers especially when the table isn’t really big enough for 2 people less more for four.

Staff was pleasant! They were very organized in getting everyone in and seated in an orderly fashion. Very limited space. Very crammed. Too close for comfort! Uncomfy chairs.

Great evening out entertainment. For a nice, relaxed night out this is a great spot. The only draw back is that service is slow. Theyve got new tablets to be able to put your order in and collect your payment, but the food still comes out slow and the night we were there, it took forever to get drink refills. But the comedians were great and overall we had a great time. They bring in a great variety of talent, so theres never really a dull night. Sign up for their emails and Facebook page because they give out free and discounted tickets all the time.

Good laughs, good drinks and good food. Only gave 4 stars because the music when the DJ was opening was very loud and the service was very slow as the wait staff was stressed with a sold out show, but totally worth the wait. Will do it again.

I usually have a great time when I come to the Funny Bone but last night was one of my worst. The distractions that was caused by YOUR STAFF was horrendous.The security and wait staff that was inside the showroom were carrying on conversations, in their normal tone, throughout the the majority of the show which caused a distraction to all the tables around me. People from the table beside me turned around and told them to be quiet to no avail. Once again, this is one bad experience out of many great experiences

Waited for an hour past (in the freakn cold)the time the show was supposed to start just to get in to be seated! Me and my date were rubbing elbows with the guest beside us and we waited for 45 minutes to receive our food.... which was not what we ordered! The comic put my girl to sleep and made this the worst anniversary that we will definitely remember!

Bring ear plugs! The speakers are super loud. About a 5 on my 10 scale of funniness. Courteous patrons and stand up comics. You meet them in person, talk with them. Great decor.

My wife and I have been here many times and seen some pretty funny comedians. Definitely a place for a good laugh.

Good comics, venue is okay. Womens bathroom ran out of toilet paper by the end of the night. Bring your own almost all three stalls were our by the time I left the show. Stage is small, so comics are up close with the audience. Sound is good, no problems with the sound system.

Striking entertainment. Rough and tough comedy filled with typical SPAM...We enjoyed three comedians. 2 remarkable fill-ins who possessed sufficient skills at bringing laughter to allRecommended for those who can handle the most un-PCd setting. NOT for sensitive souls.

This could be a great location. They have great comedians come through. I am just not a fan of being packed in so tight that even the staff have a hard time providing service. I believe they could make a lot more money if the people had room to eat and drink.

It is a nice venue with awesome comedians BUT they way it is set up is not good at all which is why I am giving only 3 stars. They pack people in like sardines in a can. They have tables meant for 2 put together and sit a total of 8 people together. As they put 2 tables together. It is NOT comfortable. I really wish a much better configuration would be considered.

I came to the funny bone to enjoy a comedy show with my family. But after being told all 1,000 of the restrictions by security and where I can and cant sit I decided to exit stage left. I tried but its a NO for me....

Comics are good, service is not. They have plenty of seats but they pack you in so tight you cant get comfortable. Youre forced to sit at small tables, in small spaces with people you dont even know. It really just ruins the experience.

A great place for a date night! Only issue is they force people to sit with strangers and seem to overfill the place verses having extra shows so people can be seated more comfortably.

After ordering we found out we were incorrectly seated and made to move. Told the table was for larger parties. Meanwhile they sat a single person beside us and replaced our seats with 3 people. Larger party by one!!!! Not coming back chairs are wobbly and not comfortable at all they pack you in like sardines if anyone is sick we will all be.

Ryan Davis and the 2 comedians before him were amazing tonight 9/7/19 in VA Beach! They were all funny in different ways. Mr. North Carolina was like laughing with your family reminding of we are more alike than different. Mr. Austin was like laughing with your friends..loved the bit about children spankings, respect, &fear. Mr. Davis was preaching tonight... stay woke and giving away relationship secrets. They were all so great! Go check them out..you will not be disappointed!

I will definitely be back, i went with my husband to see Kim Whitley for our Anniversary and she was awesome. The food and drinks were great the place small but very intimate we sat with two other guests who were amazing. I will be back to see Chico Bean, love this place.

Came for date night and had a fantastic time!! The service was great! Steve was on top of it the whole evening!! The food was great also. We had the blueberry habanero wings and Mac n cheese with Long Island iced tea. The openers were ok but there was a black lady named Patrice that killed it. The headliner Mark Gregory was phenomenal! I truly enjoyed his show! His material was great and he did several impromptu jokes about audience members (including myself) that demonstrated his comic abilities. I will definitely be back here again.

The comedian was the best part of this place...seating was an atrocity! We were told if we came together (party of 9) we could sit together (relatively). Upon seating the hostess/seater tried scattering us about, we had to refuse and bogarted the situation...which was especially justified having waited for over 1/2 an hour for the doors to open!

Do yourselves a favor...do not have Luenell back!! I have frequented the comedy club numerous times and have never been as disappointed as I was to see Luenell. I know she is raw with her comedy but she was “disgusting” raw and NOT EVEN FUNNY! She was high and kept babbling on and half the club walked out before she was done. Her writers need to revamp her work because it definitely wasn’t hitting that night! Sorry just my opinion...

The staff was rude and impolite. They need to learn how to have social etiquette. Ive been to this club over 9 years but Ive never seen anything this bad from their staff. They say dont judge a book by its cover but I say these staff members look like they are former felons or a motorcycle club also known as a gang in the old days. I notice this happening to other patrons here I asked to speak to a manager and I was told I can leave a message on the internet. I also want to say that the review of Damon was wayans great but hes very impersonal. His attitude is like were just there to see him and that is all it was. Very disappointing. the two previous comedians were absolutely a joke when they werent discussing s***** stuff I could have done without them. The waitress was terrible.

Chairs need replacing. Extremely uncomfortable!! I heard many complaining when leaving so I was Not alone. Otherwise. Not a bad place. Update seating asap! Theyve had same chairs since they opened yrs and yrs ago!

My 1st time attending and we enjoyed the comedians, throughly but I will triple-double re-think going back, due to the RUDE staff. We were moved 3 times (after being told, For your first time here we are going to give you table 20-whatever) during the performance for zero apparent reasons but still costing me $21 for my ticket. I wouldnt have taken the time to write this review if the staff had not been SO RUDE. Again, talent was spot on and I laughed a LOT. Please rethink your staff Funny Bones. Comedians, rethink Funny Bones as a venue.

Awesome ,after a hard week at work dealing with the kids dealing with life on a daily fix .you need to go out with your lady/man and enjoy yourself and the funny bone is that place .

Food was excellent. Comedian lineup during performance was entertaining. The seating arrangements needed improvement so that the patrons can see the stage without having to hold their food or place in their lap.

Seating arrangements need a makeover. An Associate and I left because of where we were seated as we had the option to either watch the show OR eat our food. The service there is a hit or miss.

Wide variety of well known comedians headline here. The opening acts are just as funny. Staff seats us according to party size so we cant choose our table mates. The menu offers a good selection of typical bar food. Automatic gratuities.

Went to see Mick Foley and the place was packed. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The show was outstanding!

I took time off of work to see kevonstage and all i saw was the back of someones back and head on the top level. I was told I couldnt move to the empty table behind me if i had already ordered by a very rude hostess. I paid for 2 speciality drinks and didnt receive the courtesy glasses at the end. I am a frequent customer at the funnybone and i dont write reviews often, but this experience is making me rethink spending my money here ever again.

Show arrival was at 11pm, show start was 1130pm. We didnt get inside the building until like 1215am. Iyana was amazing like she was better than my waitress. Jess Hilarious was awesome. Just need better customer service

Sinbad show was amazing! Truly enjoyed the first time experience. A little place with a good atmosphere.

The comedians were great but the venue was not. We were crammed into a very tiny table in the corner where we couldnt see very well. I get they want to get as many people in there as possible but for 50 bucks I at least want some leg room. Food was also very unappetizing. Nachos were smothered in cold bbq sauce. The fried mushrooms were not edible at all. I would probably go back if I really wanted to see who was there that night but will definitely look elsewhere next time

Went to see Gary Owen and he and his opening act Say were hilarious. The problem was really with the venue. They need a better plan on how to deal with busy events. We werent seated when we were supposed to be and then many people ordered their food and never got it. Most of the staff were stressed and even though they did their best to be polite...that mask kept slipping
