I love this place. It is a beautiful spot in the middle of a bustling town. Its quiet and there is no lack of wildlife to enjoy! All of the walking trails are beautiful and offer both dirt, which I prefer, and flat concrete. I go here several times a week to enjoy the sunshine and nature, and its only about 15 minutes from the Tucson Mall, very convenient. Lots of trash cans though I have not seen any picnic tables. No dogs or bikes but Im not sure if thats on the concrete trail or the whole premise. No filter on these photos.

Its a wonderful 1.1 mile loop walk around a wonderfully refreshing change from the desert landscape youll usually find in Tucson. Social distancing fun the whole family can enjoy.

A wonderful oasis in the middle of Tucson. Tons of wildlife here—birds to watch and listen to, turtles, even bobcats and snakes hang out here. Great for a peaceful walk or to bring your camera/binoculars.

This place is a hidden treasure in Tucson. The amount of wildlife here in the city is amazing. The trails are easy to walk and some are paved. If you go at different times of the year, you will see different birds and critters. This is an especially good place to go birding.

My husband and I were here this morning. It was absolutely beautiful and it seemed like we were not in Tucson anymore. The place is maintained extremely well and there were many ducks and roadrunners. There were also many wildlife photographers. Would definitely come back.

A beautiful, quiet couple of loop walks worth about 1.25ish miles. We saw ducks and frogs, but we have a 4 yr old that probably scares a lot of wildlife. A few birders and photogs keep the place serene. A bit more popular than we thought, though able to keep 6 ft. Good amount of parking, spots avail for larger rigs.

If you havent visited this place, you should definitely take a couple hours and visit. It is a nice shady easy hike. My two boys and I usually hike the Pima Canyon trail, but had to find something different because of the fire. I think we might go back and check it out once a year.

This area is interesting for birding, but also for observing dragonflies and damselflies. The presence of water is attracting lot of wildlife. It is recommended to park the vehicle at the large parkinglot to minimise the chance of someone breaking into it (there will be enough birders around...).

Often mentioned in the photography I decided to make the trip. So many birds of prey from Red Tail Hawks to Great Horned Owl. Was pleasantly surprised to have a bobcat walkout and brush my legs with no care in the world to humans. The abundance of wildlife and the many trails. Not many ducks due to Bobcats and coyotes I was told by numerous other photographers this day.

This is a beautiful, little hidden space, right in the middle of the city. Go there to see birds, fish, Turtles, other little four-legged Critters that run around, its just a lovely place to go. When youre there, you have no idea that youre in the middle of Tucson. Its relaxing, with little trails to take around the pond. Take your camera, theres plenty to take photos of.

Here today Sunday.. Didnt realize no pets signs were here.. Women on trail with camera said wild pigs and a cougar were ahead on the trails and others agreed as we were returning up front..told to go back..usually quiet but today Well.... On good note, parking lot full. Extra People parked on street..usually quiet but. Busy This Afternoon.. many natural animals and water life. walkways seemed well marked but paths turn into new choices of paths..visitor park toliet restrooms, running water to rinse off hands or if necessary fill your water bottles. The wildlife was to plentiful today not wanting to be chased by hungry wild pigs.

To me, this is the best place in town. Right off the Prince exit, its not too far from anything. Its quiet and so peaceful. From the birds that take refuge in the beautiful trees to the sunlight that comes through at just the right angles, Sweetwater Wetlands is a local treasure more people should know about - or maybe not. Its perfect as is and not everyone is capable of respecting its importance. The first time I went was on a field trip in grade school to learn about the water and the ecosystem centered around it; Ive been going back ever since. Just this last visit, in the span of 5 minutes, an inquisitive dragonfly tried to decide if I was safe to land on, a busy raccoon trotted towards me on the dirt path - oblivious to my presence - then scurried off when I made a little noise to let him know I was there, and as I was leaving one of the local bird watchers pointed out a gorgeous owl watching everyone go about their business down below. This will always be my favorite Tuscon hideaway.

Sweetwater Wetlands is one of the wonderful places built exclusively for wildlife and those who wish to observe it. (Please no dogs!) There are biking/hiking trails to it and the adjacent park where dogs are welcome. It is one of our favorite stops when we visit Tucson and a few minutes there will allow you to see more wildlife than you ever can in normal urban environments. I highly recommend it and to really enjoy the experience bring binoculars for the smallest of creatures.

Sweetwater Wetlands is an enjoyable place to walk and bird watch. The Wetlands has a circular loop trail that surrounds ponds, some of which are full of reeds. Observation platforms offer a place to sit and photograph Ducks and other Water fowl. Interpretive signs are placed at intervals around the trail offering information about the ponds and their inhabitants.
