Some of my best childhood memories were skating at Starlite with my family almost every Saturday! It was a magical place to go! Great music, awesome staff, well maintained...I went today for a birthday party and was in shock at how dirty and run down it was. So disappointing! The bathroom were frightening (there also isnt a changing table) the floors needed vacuumed and clean throughout, cracks all throughout the actual rink, some of the tables and booths were barely standing, one arcade game works, and the employees were making out at the shoe rental place. It was also hard to distinguish the employees because they were in random street clothes.I hope they take advice from customers and put some work into this place.CLEAN YOUR BUSINESS UP!

I thought it was great and before Makayla came to the rink it was so bad, workers were really rude, but as soon as Makayla came and became the manager she flipped it all around i have never seen a better leader then that manager. If I was going to make a business of my own I would hire someone just like her she fast at what she does, she kind and nice to customers but she doesnt let anyone rip off the skating rink and she wont allow any workers to get rude or steal nor under mind the boss. so if anyone wants to go there then I think you should try it out for yourself.

Awful for Birthday Party!What a waste of money! They gave us two pitchers of soda, but they were so full of ice, there wasnt enough soda to go around for 10 children. When I asked for a pitcher of water, I was told I would have to pay for it. I refused, they gave it to me for free. They didnt have napkins, the table cloth for my son was pink plaid and lace. I was given 10 styrofoam cups and 10 styrofoam plates. I forgot a knife to cut the cake, they didnt have one I could use. The pizza was the 99 cent frozen pizza from the grocery store and they can only cook 1 at a time, so the first one sat for 15 minutes before it was served and was freezing cold. The kids did NOT get ice cream sandwiches.The kids had fun, and I guess thats what matters, but as a parent, I am extremely disappointed.

It use to be a place for the urban kids to come and be able to listen to there kind of music but not its been white washed. my daughter doesnt wanna come any more cause new management told her the music she listens to was to cultured

Its a shame the owners havent maintained this facility, Topeka really needs places to go for good family fun. Starlite is old and looks like nothing has been done to clean, repair or maintain it. The roof at the entrance is severely damaged, the skate floor full of cracks, the ceiling full of water stains, bathroom facility is half broken, and the list goes on. The whole place needs an overhaul.The advertising lists skate times and prices that are not honored. I went for a kids learning skate time listed for $3 and free parents, and the place was not open. Once it did open, 3 hours later, there was no apology or explanation offered by the owner and the skate rate was $7/person.The workers are nice, but arent very helpful and look like they are 14. On Friday night skate they played a full line up of unedited songs. Overall as a parent this place is disappointing. Hopefully an owner decides to put some effort into this place.

There were many problems here. I recommend going to another skating rink if you want a great experience. This place honestly doesn’t even deserve the one star.My niece had a birthday party and it was terrible. Please save your money. The place smelled of mold and mildew.*the birthday party was supposed to come with pizza, glow sticks and ice cream we never received any and were told they were all out. When we asked them about removing it from the party tab they acted as if they could not.*The bathrooms had no soap they put some dish detergent in a ketchup container and labeled it soap.*half of the items in the concession stand were unavailable.*the entire rink floor is full of cracks. The kids could barely skate on it.*the carpet looked as if it had not been shampooed or cleaned in years. You could see dirt piled up on the carpet.*the staff were young teenagers who were very unprofessional and horrible at customer service.Please be mindful when sending your children here or booking a birthday party. The place is all about money and nothing else.

All was well, 5 star until MaKayla was hired. Loretta, please find a replacement for MaKayla.

This place is a really great place to meet new friends.

Very run down and they should take out games that no longer work. Im pretty sure this place hasnt changed in 30 years.

Great music and sound system. The staff is friendly. The owner and manager were helpful with getting all of the children in skates and ready to go out on the floor.They have walkers for new skaters. The snack bar isnt bad but it is pricey just like everywhere else.The concrete skating floor has some rough spots and it doesnt give if you fall.

Ive been skating here since I was little and it seldom disappoints. The music is pretty good, the games are fun. The food is about what youd expect. The skates may be a little old. The place has character and will always have a special place in my heart.

Went to get a peice of pizza and got told i had to buy 4 slices in order for them to cook it. Tried to buy a bag of fritos with nacho cheese and yes they dont have any cheese! Oh wait it gets better they sale you Vess soda in the can, which they keep in a tub in the sink. oh and those little juices we use to get at the store for 15 cent! Floors are cracked and need to be ground and re-surfaced. Saturday night and there arent 20 people here, and i think 5 of them are employees!

I am so disappointed! I had a surprise birthday party for my daughter scheduled on a Sunday with at least 30 friends and family there. Some from out of town. I spoke with someone the Tuesday before, after trying to get a hold of them for a week or so via phone and email. I told her I just wanted to confirm my party that I booked on line, she had no clue and said she would get her book and write it in. I called again on Friday to confirm and ask some questions. I believe I spoke to the owner. Everything was good and I was so excited to surprise my daughter. Then on Saturday at 9am I received an email from Starlite Skate Center saying... PARTY CANCELATION: Starlite Skate Center Closed Until...We apologize for the inconvenience. Due to travel delays we are unable to make it back then referred me to SK8away. They are not even affiliated with each other. I tried calling and no answer. I am sorry they got stuck out of state but it was confirmed on Friday!! There should have been someone else able to open the rink since it was to open that day.Go to Sk8away if you are planning anything. They were able to accommodate my party. It is more expensive but it was worth it. After all the calls to change the place, we had a great time!

A bit run down cuz its old. Music was too quiet and skates are old. But who doesnt love to skate. Its the only one on the east side

Was a good place to skate. It was just very small and the floor seemed a bit janky. When we walked in there was a not so pleasant smell. As I said, all in all, a good place to skate.

I paid for the birthday package for my daughter. We did not get all of our skating tickets for the package we bought so we had to buy additional ones. Nothing was set up for her birthday. The tables and skates are falling apart. Some of the games and merchandise are broken without a refund. The girls that were working there were very friendly. A lot of money spent for a run down place. The owner simply acted like she did not care and her customer service skills were awful.

The skates were in really bad shape and the floor has a few cracks that need repairs. The water fountain is room temperature water and the bottled water was $1 and also room temperature.We took 6 kids and they all had fun with no complaints.

Its a fun place to be if you like to roller skate.

Had a friend who worked here. They dont disinfect the skates, pay under the table $5 an hour. And treated him like garbage. Would not recommend you go there or work there.

My cousin and I called and asked them if they had any party reservations open and they were being rude about it and then they hung up on us when we started telling them what we wanted.
