Love this place! I felt like I was in the Temple Bar district in Dublin! Very authentic, modern, good indoor and outdoor seating & 2 bars. The food was fantastic and our waiter was awesome! He recommended a very good local beer. We ordered fish and chips & beef nested in Irish mac & cheese. The were both very well prepared! You love the chips, too!We were there early for a Friday night. It was getting crowded by the time we left.

This is our go to place for what we call “Whiskey Wednesday”. Me and my colleagues often go here as it has that Irish vibe and serves the best Guinness in town. They also offer a small selection of cigars which makes this place our preferred choice. It’s very conveniently located and the food tastes great. My all time favorite Irish chips with curry

This place is great if you want to come in with your family and have some nice good old Irish comfort food. The only downside is at night, specifically Friday and Saturday nights, they want to pack the place as much as they can. Suggestion is getting there early or have a reservation. Its very hard for the staff to keep up with everyone as people try to play musical chairs and ignore any of the cdc guidelines posted all around the establishment. I believe the only person that actually tries to regulate the guidelines is the manager Ben.

Awesome food, music, and Irish feel. Didnt try the beer but... its beer so its good by default. I got the Mac and cheese burger and it wasnt bad. Burger patty was freshly made and well seasoned. I also got their Rula Bula fries... kinda boring tbh. Wife got the 3 piece fish and chips, super delicious. The chips were really good. Food is a bit pricey but we highly recommend it.

I really love the design of this place. I have never had a bad pour here. The patio seating is just as great as the inside seating.The boxty is tasty, but a bit on the salty side for me. The corned beef and cabbage is good if you like your meat in thin slices. The potato skins are very good.

Was in the area and wanted to check it out after reading about it in The Iron Druid Chronicles. It definitely lives up to the expectations set by the books.Our group had the Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, and Gaelic-Style Chicken Breast. Everything was amazing. The mashed potatoes that came with the chicken and sausage dishes were definitely the unexpected hit of the evening.

Rúla Búla is still as good during current events as they were before. They’re taking the pandemic seriously, and even have face coverings available for purchase if someone enters without one (and wishes to stay). They’ve removed a lot of the mid-floor seating temporarily to meet the city mandates and to try and keep people safe.

The Fish and chips were excellent. If you are over 21, get the Guniess beer to go with it. Dark craft beer and fish and chips are bomb. If I were closer, I would hang out there for the music alone. I will be going again. If you ask for the old menu, it has the history of the pub on the front. But they are changing menus, so they had to dig for one for me.

I have been here twice but the first time was for drinks only. This second visit, I got food and was so impressed that I had to leave a review. I got the fish and chips and was very impressed. The quality of the fish was incredible. I saw the price of this dish on the menu and said “hope it’s worth it.” And it was so worth it! I tried the Lavender mule for a drink and it was okay but I wouldn’t order it again. If you’re drinking here, I would recommend trying the food here too, some of the best food on Mill Ave. Enjoy!

Went here for my brothers birthday had a great selection of drinks as well as food i got the bangers and mash and it was extremely delicious everyone else in my party was super satisfied with what we got and the tempe town lake mix drink was a very good choice

Normally this place is awesome. Tonight was awful!!!! They had a band outside, they couldnt carry it tune. Usually if it is close to the song Im good but ...... it was bad. We asked and it turns out the band is friends with the boss. Please invite them to your home instead of making your customers suffer.Then to add to this we ordered drinks and after 10 minutes I began to wonder where our drinks were. The place had 3 tables in use with 2 bartenders however both were more concerned with flirting with the 3 cute girls at the bar. Since they are usually awesome we will return but if that kind of thing happens again I wont be back.

Great little bar in the downtown Tempe area. something thats definitely overlooked compared to the other bars around town. Spacious great vibe good food and amazing drinks. Recommend 10 out of 10

This was an awesome Irish Pub! They have actual wood from Ireland at the bar that was flown in making them one of the only official Irish bars in AZ. So go and appreciate a little bit of Ireland, they have friendly staff, and great food!

Its strange to find this place among all the techno pumping angel wings murals of Tempe. Its low key. Straight forward. Sit down and drink kind of place. It reminds me of Boston pubs and the staff are definitely more kind than Boston pubs. Haha.

This place. This is the best Irish pub Ive ever been to. Food and service was killer. Prices were super good. This is a place that is featured in a wonderful fantasy novel that I have read and when I knew I was only going to be 20 minutes from it I had to go. The staff was all too happy to let me geek out on the bar and food and were super happy to tell me stories of other fans. I had a great time here and cannot recommend this place enough. Get the fish and chips. I have never seen a place execute on fish and chips better than this place.

I had a Cheese steak shop 3 doors down and every night we would close down then make 10 cheese steaks and bring them to the bartenders and managers & owners! It was one of the best bars I have ever been too! & I have been too bars in Hungary and other places all over Europe! This one is the best! Make sure you try the hot bollux

If you’re staying at the Tempe Palms Hotel, this restaurant is right next-door to it from the west Hotel courtyard.It has many selections of food, including Irish classics, but much more than that. The Guinness chicken wings were fantastic! the shepherds pie was homemade and it tasted fantastic.The restaurant is decorated in Irish themes and is fun to explore, the outside patio is also well done, and staff were friendly and very helpful with anything we needed regarding menu questions etc. A great place to eat with reasonable prices and excellent food!

The decor is great. I didnt try food as it was late. I was shocked that nightclubs cant open though, given how crowded this restaurant was. Massive line out front crowded together, bar crowded, 0 social distancing.

Great bar, a favorite for sure! However, tall guy bartender could def stop tending to the attractive wen in cocktail dresses before the guys who tip at least 50% to any employee, male or female, but its all good. Thats life, sometimes

A Must Stop on Mill Avenue. A Real Irish bar where youll get a Proper Pint. Guinness was involved in the design so its not just some shamrocks pasted on the wall. Menu is excellent and the even have a vegan menu now so everyone can get what they want. Highly recommended.

Super good. Had a hard time deciding on one thing. They have FOUR DIFFERENT KINDS OF GRILLED CHEESE!!! Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options too. Fun atmosphere, we ate outside, and even though it was over 90° out, it was pleasant and very enjoyable. My phone glitched and I lost the first picture I took, but the Irish dip was delicious.

Love Rula Bula have been coming here for 15 years. The place is awesome and the food and drinks are great but todays experience and rating is based solely on an employee named Zoey. Today at noon it wasnt busy but our waiter was away for awhile and we asked Zoey about our order. She rudely told us he was busy and that was it. No let me check on it or let me find out. To our surprise she came back before our waiter with our drinks and proceeded to slam both of them on the table. She didnt say one word and just walked away. Didnt seem like she was new but let me give you some advise Zoey. If you are having a bad day or cant handle being asked a simple question without getting upset then you should look for a different job that doesnt involve customer service. Really ruined a great lunch so thank you very much Zoey we really appreciated it. 5-stars for Rula Bula and 1-star for Zoey.

The Rula Bula Irish Pub in Tempe is regrettably just average. The atmosphere is very good and the wait staff were courteous and attentive, but the food and drinks were very disappointing. We had 4 dishes served and 2 of those were subpar. The corned beef and cabbage was made with thinly sliced corned beef, an inauthentic choice for an Irish pub; it ultimately was returned and comped with a contamination problem. One of the 4 drinks was misprepared and also returned and replaced.

I travel all over the US for work, this place is quite literally the best Irish pub in the main 48. The Guinness is the best outside of fresh poured Ireland. The fish and chips is supreme, but their other Irish dishes have yet to be beat by anyone else. Drinks are fairly priced and they have an extensive whiskey menu. The staff is always phenomenal. Last wonderful thing, they have weekend brunch

I saw this listed on an article of the best Irish Pub in each state. Since we were visiting ASU, we decided to stop in and see it! We were not disappointed. Everything about this place was 5 stars. Make sure you read the history of it on the menu. It is located in one of the oldest buildings in Tempe and the interior was sent over from Ireland! The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic! If only we have saved room for the amazing sounding fried bread pudding...that will have to wait until next time!

Sal was a fantastic bartender, asked him to make drinks and came back everytime with something different and incredible. Dude really knows his way around spirits.

Stopped for a lunch on a casual afternoon, Although had to wait a bit to be sited but service was excellent after that.I can not confirm their claim of offering Phoenixs best wings as dont have other experiences to compare, but they tasted great. They have multiple good options for food and drink and location is clean. Will recommend.

This pub gives you the home away from home feeling with a safe, festive and rustic atmosphere, the amazing food and an attentive, friendly and professional staff. The live music nights are incredibly entertaining and the outdoor bar and patio is very relaxing. The fish and chips are to die for as anyone who has read The Iron Druid Chronicles and given it a shot knows; and the Shepards pie is second to none. There is not a single beer on tap there that I dont enjoy and they really appear to take their sanitation very seriously. Parking can be tricky during a busy time but that goes for all of Mill Ave. All in all this is my favorite location in Tempe.

Main dish was the salmon. The desert was fried bread pudding was amazing. The salmon was also though just a tiny bit over cooked though not enough to really complain about.

This has become my favorite pub in Phoenix. The staff are always cheerful and helpful even when its packed at night. The food is also always top notch. They have the best fish and chips in town, hands down. I prefer their cuts of fish instead of the square chunks a lot of bars seem to use. The hot bollix is a must try for your app. Ive seen that they apparently have some of the best wings in phoenix as well but I have yet to make it that far into the menu to try them. The fish and chips are just that good. Also having the traditional beers on tap is really nice. Overall this place is a must visit if you are in the area.

This is a great place if you want traditional Irish type food. The pints of Guinness are poured properly and the overall atmosphere is always pleasant. It does get quite packed but if you can find a seat at the bar its well worth it for a pint and a laugh with friends.

Nicely appointed Irish bar in the heart of ASU. Went for an early dinner. Had a nice side salad and the Chicken curry, which was excellent. Only complaint is that they changed bartenders on me, and the second one disappeared for significant portions of time.

Im all over the map: bangers and mash, fish and chips, salmon. All very good!Weve consistently had great service here, even when theyre busy. A well run restaurant!They have outside seating in the back patio area in addition to the rustic pub interior.And yes, they have the requisite Guinness there! ;).

Rula Bula is not only a fantastic Irish restaurant. It’s the place to go, (upon COVID’s exit...), for those of us who love LIVE music! Where the talented musicians are able to be there, with you, on a stage, just a (6 ft’ ) arms reach away. And where you can feel the beat, in your heart and in your feet, as you’re dancing on the floor. Such a great feeling for both musicians and patrons to experience an “up close and personal”, venue like Rula Bula. Thank you for supporting our local music scene. And here’s a bonus! On a stressful, busy day I left my phone at RB. Thanks to my Google maps time line review, I was able to retrace my distracted steps back to Rula Bula, where they had kept it safe and returned it to me. An honest staff makes me very happy and I appreciate you. I highly recommend to readers that you check out such a cool place when ever you find yourself in Tempe.

This place is the one I always prefer. I go to plenty of restaurants but to this place I go the most. The team is very affectionate and the cuisine they serve is so fresh and tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent dinner in this place. Highly recommended.

Just met a friend for the first time at this location. I am from East and AZ feels like Mexico to me. So when my friend introduced me to this Irish pub I was really excited as I am used to big metropolitan cities where diversity is present at every step of the way. The food was great, the prices was great and the service is also out of this world. I shall return again in future to try out their other food at this location.

I had delicious bangers and mash that were incredibly authentic. My buddy had the biggest and most succulent fish and chips Ive ever seen. With real Irish beer on tap, you cant beat this Irish pub.

Excellent evening, rustic environment, enjoyed the old bar. Food was excellent, had the salmon bowl with quinoa, very delicious. The Sheppards pie was excellent as well. A large selection of whiskeys. Would recommend the restaurant to all those that enjoy English pub style food and atmosphere.

Our waitress was AWESOME! She made sure we had everything we needed including make a version of cherry coke for my friend when they didnt have any on tap. I had the fish and Irish chips, they were light and tasted great! I also love the booths.

Im confused by reviews claiming their food is so epic but I guess when youre not from the North or have never actually tried authentic, Minnesota Irish-fare, youd find this place to be quite a gem.Our table of seven universally were unimpressed with our food selections, however this restaurant does have a broad spread of options.Two amongst our group had the fish & chips and were satisfied, but lets be honest, how do you mess that up!?Overall the food lacked in flavor, but the actual service provided was great.Their fries were seriously tasty so thatd be the only thing moving forward food-wise that Id be interested in if I were to frequent their establishment again.
