My Grandfather Richard Matthews was one of the first crew members on this fireboat i am so proud
Nice boat but alot of people around and restaurants clutter the walk
On a hot day. Check out the fire boat. Go take the kids. Have nothing but fun
My kids love to play under this super interesting piece of Tacoma history
Historical Site
History nerd!!!
Seems oddly smaller than when I visited as a young lad.As of the boat his shrunk or I have grown!
Favorite place for a walk at the waterfront!
Very cool old school fireboat! I always loved coming here when I was a kid. Still a good site to see when Im riding my bike or skateboard down the Waterfront.
Photos are at midnight in complete darkness, be safe as always though.Noteworthy mention its handicap accessible, so everyone can enjoy the water and this behemoth.
I love this old boat. Youre never too old to have fun and explore it!
Nice to see a piece of history stay alive. Also a great place to fly.
I love Tacoma history and this place is in the thick of it.A bit from Wikipedia....Fireboat No. 1 was built in 1929 for the Port of Tacoma by the Coastline Shipbuilding Company of Tacoma, Washington for US$148,000. She is 96 feet 6 inches long with a 21-foot-6-inch beam and a 6-foot draft.
Its like a fish out of water.
