This park is perfect for families that have kids that that want to burn off energy. There is a nice little walking trail that goes in a circle with nicely mowed grass in in between. There looks like a man-made Creek that probably runs with water when there is a lot of rain right now it is starting to dry up.. there are remnants from possible homeless people or transients but other than that it is pretty well kept and seems to be a nice place for kids and to walk dogs through.

Cool, but basic park. Its a pretty well-kept playfield (it floods when it rains, so be careful) and a nice little playground with all the basic equipment. Theres not much parking, and the area down by the water seems a little odd, but nothing too sketchy was going on while I was there. Two little mysteries: Theres a deer sculpture on private land thats visible from the park, and I spent probably too long staring at it and wondering if it was a live deer or yard art. Turns out: yard art. Second, theres a rock that seems to have been turned into a local community art project. None of the surrounding rocks get painted, but this one is currently bright red. Pretty cool, actually.

A nice little playground with a big field. When I was a kid we used to play tackle backyard football in the field. You used to be able to sled down the hill, but now they have put in shrubbery and trees to keep the hillside stronger.

Could use some upgrades. Like parking, handicap access, covered eating area and either make park accessible from the west side or repair the fence.

Its a great Park During certain parts of the day I would not suggest going by yourself due to some of the weird people that like to sit on the swings and the play stuff

This park could use some updating. Maybe removing the mulch and putting in a rubber ground like the one they added to sunset park in university place. But it isnt a bad park.

Though admittedly biased, it’s nearly 30 years since kids, students and neighbors came voluntarily together to plan this park, participate in its creation and continuous use ever since!! Way to go Tacomans!!

I enjoy this park. It is a small park with street parking. My last visit I was approached by questionable men and left immediately. The park itself was made because of a tragic crime on a minor. The hopes are that it would not happen again.

HISTORYThe City of Tacoma transformed this 5.1-acre parcel into what was named Celebration Park in 1992. In 2009, the City Council renamed it Ryan’s Park. The name is in memory of the 7-year-old boy who was attacked and left for dead in 1989 in what was then an overgrown, vacant lot. The little boy survived to adulthood; his name, Ryan Alan Hade, became public after he died at 23 in a 2005 motorcycle crash.

There was a great playground for kids and a large green space for playing and picnic benches but I only gave it 4 stars because it was difficult to see from the road. You have to really be looking2
