This is the best non-off leash dog park around. You can pick up one of the free invisible 100 foot leashes when you enter, then play fetch with your dog. Just make sure you scoop the poop. Also, theres no parking, so youll need to buy a house nearby. Theres also a sweet trail down into the gulch that is great for urban campers.

Nice neighborhood park with a perimeter gravel path w/ exercise stations, an open field, play equipment, water fountain and a few backstops for pick up ball games. The park is set down in a hollow ringed by trees that provide nice shade for a few benches at the edge of the perimeter path. Needs a little TLC and upkeep.

This is a great spot for playing soccer, baseball, or basketball. It has a decent little playground for the kids and cool training spots for teens and adults. The only downside? No bathrooms. Whoever designed this park with a playground and fields but no place to use the bathroom.or change a diaper wasnt thinking very clearly. You cant just run up to Annie Wright or the Tennis club to use their bathrooms.

Garfield park to me means home... I grew up at this park. Cached away from the busy street this park has two baseball diamonds, a playground, plenty of green grass, and a special loop which makes it great for running around in circles if you want to do laps or something. There is also a trail which leads to a pathway which will take you down to the water which is nice which we call The gulch. the school any right is just up the hill so you can catch glimpses of its majestic brick architecture and the Tacoma lawn tennis club is also right next door so you can hear people playing tennis. I believe also there is a special drinking fountain just for dogs

THIS IS NOT AN OFF-LEASH DOG PARK! There are obvious signs around every entrance saying this is not an off-leash dog park. Yet Ive been to the park a dozen times and every single time there are off-leash dogs. Its very annoying because often the off-leash dogs come up to my dog who does not like being harassed by other dogs while hes on a walk. Ive also seen off-leash dogs run out of the park and into traffic, because the park is not completely fenced in. And there is nothing stopping an off-leash dog from harassing children playing on the playground equipment. As a dog owner I get that its fun to let your dog run around and be free, but please go an actual off-leash dog park to do that - there are many in and around Tacoma and they are specifically designed to allow your dog to run free in a safe environment.

We take our dog here to let her run around. Not officially an off-leash park, but many people will run their dogs there.
