Love it here close to the water. The Park System recently did a great job with improvements. Unfortunately they didnt put in a public restroom. That in my books is a priority.

Its such a hidden beautiful nice little park. u follow the street n feel like u r entering private driveway. there is a parking lot for maybe 10 cars, a disability spot. the side walk towards the light house is clean all flat, good for stroller n wheelchair. the light house itself is about only 2 men height. its smaller than what u describe/expect which is tall tower n can climb to the top. walking beach is nice part too. the water is clean n cold but right there. there is a portable toilet in the parking.

Im a big history buff so I really enjoyed learning the history of this light house. And of course the guides were very knowledgeable which is always a great thing to have. I was very fascinated by how well everything was set up it really gives you this step back in time vibe which is my favorite part about going to museums. Loved it and their shop had great souvenirs!

Nice park but parking might as well not exist theres only like 10 spots, they fill up VERY quickly and its also a very awkward lot. Even if you come early in the morning have fun finding a spot. If you kayak like I do be prepared for the LONG walk down to the water and back up again. Views are great but this park gets very busy. I dont think its fair they gave the country club next door all the parking and other necessities.

A cute park that is well hidden. Navigate to Browns Point Lighthouse for best directions. Parking is free. There is a small parking lot, nice lawn for picnics and a lovely bench under a big shady tree. On Saturdays during the summer, make sure to take a tour of the lighthouse keepers cottage and surrounding buildings to learn about some of the unique and interesting facts about Browns Point history. The museum is free but donations are welcome. As a fun bonus, the lighthouse is open as a vacation rental on select dates, so be sure to inquire with the docents. As far as the beach goes, its a gravelly beach and is nice for beachcombing. At the tide line I found sea glass in white, green, and brown, a piece of a turquoise colored tile or plate and some pretty quartz pebbles too.

My favorite local photography spot for sunsets. I come here often. Parking is limited to two small areas. Only crowded Fourth of July and the annual salmon bake day. Otherwise, it’s usually pretty quiet. Beach is rocky and lots of driftwood. Lots to explore and open grassy spot as well. A great place to take out of town guests to see the city and the water. Great for locals as well!

The gates were shut, but there was still access through a small entryway to the left. There was only room for a few cars to park, but it wasnt very busy. It would be a great place to take your dog, fly a kite, or have a picnic :) There are a few benches, picnic tables, and driftwood logs to rest on. The water was beautifully clear and it felt peacefully isolated

More people than I expected for a weekday afternoon, although most were trying to keep their distance. The most disappointing was the skidoos back and forth, not only with loud engines but blasting loud music as well. Kind of ruined a relaxing afternoon at the beach.Beautiful view, clean park and beach though.

Review №36

This used to be a great place for a picnic by the Sound. Somehow the neighbors got together and got Pierce County to let them put up a gate to the parking lot. Now only members of Browns Point Improvement Club can use the main parking lot, and boat ramp, which is empty most of the time. The only public parking for the lighthouse park is hidden down a small side street called Tulalip St NE. They are redoing the little parking lot and now there are fewer spaces than before. If its a nice weekend I would suggest going somewhere else as parking is horrendous.

Stopped by in the “off season” — quiet, relaxed place to enjoy the views and read about the history of the location. If you’re visiting nearby it’s worth a visit, but not exactly a destination in and of itself. The lighthouse can be booked as a vacation rental (pricey but neat experience if you’re into that kind of thing!)

Great place to have a picnic and enjoy a sunset. We love going here no matter the weather because it offers such a wonderful view of the sound. There is also great salmon fishing from the beach on either side of the lighthouse. Just make sure your fishing within regulations and not on private property. There is also a interesting little museum that used to function as lighthouse keepers home. You can even rent it out and stay there!Lots to do at this wonderful little park!

The lighthouse is a large utilitarian block rebuilt in the 30s, but it does have a sign showing all of its various updates over the years, and a picture of the original wooden lighthouse which looked really nice. The view from this park is second to none. Great place for a picnic or just to hang out and relax.

We visited Browns Point Beach and lighthouse on labor day 2019. It was a beautiful sunny late afternoon. The large sloping lawn before the shingle beach had 30 or so people having picnics and playing on the the beach. It was a beautiful place to sit and watch the sunset, watch the boats go by and the fisherman in the shallows. The lighthouse was interesting and the lighthouse cottage had a beautiful garden around it and looked very nicely kept. Apparently its three bedrooms and can be rented as an AirBnB. There were brochures handy with prices and pictorial descriptions of the cottage inclosed. We were visiting a close friend who rents a cottage at Browns point and we walked 5 minutes from her home to get to this beautiful Park.

We dropped a couple of kayaks in the water from here. It was a short walk down the grass to the beach but not bad whatsoever. Sunday afternoon and the park only had a couple of families playing- it was so peaceful and beautiful and had such a great view of Tacoma and the port and Vashon.
