My husband & I live in the Proctor area (in Tacoma WA) where the BM Theatre is located. This is a older, vintage movie theatre, with lots of charm & classic interior decorations. The staff are polite & friendly & their popcorn & refreshments are traditional movie fare. Their ticket prices are highly discounted from traditional theaters which makes it a neighborhood favorite. BM offers a variety of different shows, including current & past top-rated hits & favorites. Do yourself a favor & check it out You won’t be disappointed!

First run movie only slightly delayed for half the price, plus a small, warm community atmosphere with special programs like the upcoming Sister City International Film Festival, every third Friday Fright Night @ 10pm, & the every Saturday midnight Rocky Horror Picture Show with a local costumed cult following! And great popcorn! The longest continuously running theater on the West Coast has been preserved through community involvement ️

We love this little local gem. Small neighborhood movie theater in the Proctor district. Movies are late season releases for a low price. This little gem also has a variety of horror movie nights and the last theater I know of that still shows Rocky Horror Picture Show with a dedicated live cast perform below the movie screen.

I adore the Blue Mouse and all its employees--from the ticket sales person to the young concessions booth workers. Everyone is so friendly, and I really appreciate their efforts! Plus, the building itself is beautiful with its craftsman detailing. Its nice to be able to visit a family-friendly theater that does not break the bank! I had a blast last night, watching the Grinch with my sister and nieces. Thanks, Blue Mouse!

This is a great second run theatre. Has been running in Proctor District for years. Does not have all the amenities as newer theatres, but you can see a good movie at a great price. Sitter closer to the front and in the middle for the best view. You can also rent the place out for parties and private screenings. Blue Mouse is a fun little the as theater.

Imagine a theatre practically untouched by time. A nostalgic trip back to a day when life was less complicated, and people could enjoy a film without expecting gigantic screens, deafening sound systems and spending half a paycheck to get in and enjoy a popcorn and soda. It still exists - go to the Blue Mouse Theatre. I swear, its not the Twilight Zone.

What a great little theater. I was told that its 95 years old this year. I grew up next to the Admiral theater in West Seattle and going to the Blue Mouse in Tacomas Proctor district brought back memories of those days long ago. Went to see the Rocky Horror picture show for the first time in a theater and had an absolute blast. The actors were so much fun with the comments and the added flavor they brought to the scenes they mimicked from the screen made the experience so much more enjoyable than the movie itself ever was. Being a Virgin was an experience I will never forget and I cant wait to introduce some other friends to it.

Surprisingly good picture and sound for a half-price, second-run theater! Im a home theater enthusiast, and have a 4k projector with Dolby Atmos sound, and I thoroughly enjoyed a recent viewing of Ready Player One here at the Blue Mouse which is an over the top action flick if there ever was one! Highly recommended. My only gripe would be the seat, which was quite worn in, but you cant have it all I suppose!

As a local historical theater its a good place for a quick movie for the price when there is a flick playing you like. I do wish they would put the movie rating (PG etc) on the front reader board. The theater is aged but kept at a comfortable temp. Main limitation is not offering more snack food items anymore. They only have popcorn, drinks and candy. But like other theaters we still end up paying more for our snacks and popcorn than we did for the tickets. Be sure to eat dinner before coming.

Attended Rocky Horror. Not my favorite show, but the cast was thoroughly engaged and amped the audience well. Making use of props to bring the show to life helped overcome a distractingly aged stage. The Historic Blue Mouse Theatre is a Tacoma treasure. The neon sign out front with the blue mouse is actually one of Dale Chihullys early works with neon. They typically run a movie for a week from Friday-Thursday at 7pm and weekend matinees usually at 3:45 or 4:00 as well as the evening 7pm. Some movies do get a two week run. Monday andTuesday evenings plus weekend matinees are only $4. Regular price is only $6 and $5 for under 16. The 2nd & 4th Saturdays don on your Rocky Horror Picture Show attire and do the time warp! Only $6, and cheap prop bags are for sale. Participation is highly encouraged! Doors at 11pm, pre-show at 11:30, and movie at midnight. The 3rd Friday brings Friday Night Frights. They show a cult classic horror movie, and have a fun trivia round before the show with prizes. The Blue Mouse is also available to rent. There are a few parking spots out front, but its street parking for the rest, so plan a little extra time for parking. #LetsGuide #LocalGuides #LeeHeath

Ive been to over three dozen movies at this theatre so I can say with confidence that you should visit. The ticket price is good, ranging from $4-$9 depending on the day and movie. Popcorn and other food prices are reasonable, and the sound system is good too. Usually they play one movie for a week then move onto the next movie on the following Friday. Usually the movies here are 3-7 weeks from coming out on DVD. So if you missed a movie in theatres but dont want to rent it and watch it on your tiny TV at home this is the place to see it on a theatre sized screen! One thing that could change is the seating, theyre getting a bit worn out guys... Not that they arent comfortable, just need to be replaced within the next year. =)Its a great place, so go check it out! And dont forget to check their website weekly to see whats coming!

I may be addicted to this theaters popcorn. I dont know what it is, but its delicious. Their ticket prices are great, the movies are awesome, and the theater has more than just regular movies, it has the Rocky Horror Picture show. I was a proud member of the kickstarter to help this theater go digital, because the loss of this amazing gem of a place would have been heartbreaking. The manager is an absolute sweetheart, and someone Im proud to call Momma. I feel more like a family member when I go here, whether its for Rocky, Friday Night Frights, the film festival, or just a regular film.
