Fantastic place! Very well organized, amazing selection of items to choose from and a sweet staff. You get in the flow and your tinker time goes so fast? We’ve only been once (we are from out of town) but have talked about our experience a lot. We look forward to our next visit when we come into town! Thanks for the awesome space and day!

Downtown Tacoma‘s best kept secret!I wish I had discovered this wonderful shop sooner! They have thousands of found objects—nostalgic, salvage, and new—to use in an infinite number of ways in creating collage and other works of art. They also offer workshops in the store. A fun and welcoming place to get the creative juices flowing for all ages!

Discovering this shop was such a delight; where else can you find bins labeled “haunted piano parts” or “tribbles”?! It’s ostensibly a creative reuse store with a rentable space for kids to have fun or adults to have access to basic arts & crafts equipment they might not necessarily want to buy (adults are also permitted to come here for fun) but it’s handy when you need something so random that it has you asking, “Where could I possibly buy that?”Jewelry makers take note: Shipwreck has donated a ton of stuff here.

What an incredible place. Do the builder, shaker, dreamer, fixer, creator in your life a favor and take them here. Afterwards they will look at you in a new light and perhaps make you a really good snack. These guys have a rotating stock of the best stuff, great attitudes, and affordable workspace rates.

Such a fun place! They are my first stop for any project and a great place to find treasures. Useful vintage things, shiny objects, and bizarre things you will never see anywhere else. Its like a museum where you can buy everything that is on display with a craft store in the middle. Best of all you can feel virtuous about shopping there because they keep literal tons of things from going to waste. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my grandson. The craft room was well stocked and the owners very helpful. The thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is this, I paid to do a craft and was not able to split time between my grandson and my own project. When I asked if I could apply it to another session or to take some supplies with me.I was rebuked. Too bad, So sad. Your loss.I get it. You have rent to pay. I just feel like I made an unwilling donation.Sours the experience.

This place is amazing. Not only do they have interesting things for sale to use in art, they also have a studio that you can utilize for a fair price which includes a ton of items and the use of a variety of tools.I’ve been here with friends and with my kids. It works for any age range.Plus.... the owners are really talented at assisting with ideas and helping find the perfect piece for your creation.

Ah my favorite craft store! Good prices, nice people who leave you alone, lol. You can get so many cool things here for mixed media craft projects, art projects, games for kids, things to build, etc. It is almost a magical hippie craft store where they are like 50% supplied by the trash bin (in a good way). Every time I come to Washington we go here and buy a few pounds of art supplies

This is an unconventional craft supply store and craft space for rent. Its hard to explain, I recommend that you stop in and touch everything. Talk to the shop owners and get a feel for the place yourself. Every time I swing in here I leave feeling inspired and I rarely ever spend more than $10. Ive made several things here that bring me great joy.

Showed up to this place 5 minutes early, my 5 year old daughter was so excited to check this out and we were met with totally rude and unacceptable behavior all because it wasnt completely open yet. Dont show up here early unless you want to get yelled at. Maybe this employee was having a rough holiday or some other personal issue but dont take it out on customers.

If youre a crafter or an upcycle person or are just working on a project, come here! Bulk options for crafting things, and so many different odds and ends for EVERYTHING. Its donation based, so the stock tends to change, but theres usually a little bit of everything. There are also premade sets for kids and ideas for how to use them (including hotglue guns for when needed), and the bulk is mix match! The staff is friendly and will answer any crafting questions and will give suggestions if asked.

Tinkertopia is one of the coolest places in Tacoma. A wonderful space for kids of all ages.Come to Tinkertopia & find re-purposed, re-cycled items for art projects. Buy by the bag or by the piece. Youll find everything here. Donate here as well - theyll take pretty much anything. Youll find bits of fabric, paper, industrial/office supply castoffs, lots of gently used art supplies (paint, brushes, pastels, etc), game pieces, books, corks & bottle caps...it really goes on and on...Tinkertopia has space for classes & parties. Parties are reasonably priced and I highly recommend them for events.Kudos for how well organized this space is...its difficult to keep this mountain of bits & bobs so tidy! Also - kudos for the creations on display. There are wonderful inspirations all over Tinkertopia....just a peek at these is worth a trip.Thank you, Tinkertopia, for being here!!!

I LOVE Tinkertopia. RR and Darcy have created a real gem in their little shop. I just love picking through the bins and finding stuff that gives me ideas to create something completely new. It makes it easy to find found art supplies. So far Ive made trophies, balloon stands and prizes with stuff that would have otherwise been junk.Kids LOVE to make things, and I think its great that Tinkertopia gives kids the tools to use their imagination and to think creatively. If I have kids, I would totally have all of their celebrations at Tinkertopia.Forget spending hundreds of dollars for craft supplies at a big box store...come to Tinkertopia, fill up a bulk bag and create something no one has ever seen before.!
