I never write reviews but after playing only a few holes at this golf course I had to write a review to save people there time from playing probably the worse maintained golf course I have ever played. I would have given this course a zero if I could. There were Dandelions everywhere, you couldn’t tell where the fairway was, tee boxes were horrible. However, the worst part was the greens. My recommendation to anyone looking to play golf in the Staunton area would be to pay the extra $15 -$20 and play at the club at iron wood if you can.

Save yourself $10 and go play Gypsy hill. The greens are like putting on the craters of the moon.

Golf course is very historic and beautiful. So sad that the building structures are so run down. The golf course is in pretty poor condition, but greens are in good shape. Bunkers are overgrown and for the most part unplayable. Fairways are best described as common yard grass.. Lets hope someone buys the property and reconditions the golf course.

Course is difficulty to navigate if it’s your first time. No water on the course so pack a cooler. Course is continuous 18. Courses cart paths are pretty rough. Course plays very forgiving with hardly any water or OB.Three starts given for cost $36 a round w/ cart. Very nice greens, fairways and tee boxes were fair. Lots of elevation change! Overall had a great time playing this course, definitely caters to an average joe golfer.

Best greens in the valley clearly they havent been to heritage oaks, Lakeview or shenvalee. Their greens were patchy. Their cart paths were non existent or worse, dangerously washed out trenches in the middle of them. Needs some upkeep. The holes were beautifully played out but the fairway was like hitting out of the grass in my backyard. Not ideal.

4/2019 played here. Grew up playing here and it’s never been in great shape bit tolerable form time to time. Seems like lately poor management and poor effort caring for the course have led to rotten conditions on an otherwise ok layout. See pictures for details.

A hidden gem, rough around the edges but beauty abounds. Great experience for the price and home to 5 past Virginia State Open tournaments. Great greens in great shape that are 90 years old!

You better be a billy goat if you plan on walking this gold course. Its up and down hills the entire time. Id advise getting a cart if you decide to go there. Prices not bad and Id say average for the area.

Potentially a nice course but have let it deteriorate when a sale was pending. It is a good test but will need some TLC to get it in shape. Clubhouse is a trailer!

This course used to be half-decent, but it has completely gone down the tubes. Just about every single hole plays the same: drive over a gully, approach up a hill. Complete lack of intrigue or even green and fairway maintenance. The cart paths are dreadful, if not completely non-existant. The facilities are also non-existent. Toilets are seldom, and they are porta-johns. There is no water anywhere on the course, so your options are to be dehydrated or spend a dollar on bottled water every 2 holes. $30 greens fee + $10 in water = a big fat waste of your time and money. Do yourself a favor and keep searching.

Collin got a hole in one, we saw a groundhog eating paper. We saw a man with a remote control golf bag. The power was out but we didnt mind. The carts are liable to go very fast down hills. The views consist of very green hills and cows. I would play 72 holes here in a weekend, easy.

Fareways were mostly freshly mowed, greens were fast and in great shape. Cart paths were in poor shape, some had deep ravines from all the rainfall weve had making them unusable.

For 35 dollar they should at least cut the grass one time in a month. If you are right off the fairway it takes 20 minutes to find your ball.

Dead places in all greens, bare dirt in some fairways. Cart paths are virtually nonexistent. Has went downhill bad in the last 2 years. Wont go there anymore, Id rather pay $10 more and go somewhere else. Sad.

Tee times are stacked so close together that they constantly are asking you to speed up your play.if you are playing with a foursome you will be constantly hounded to speed up even if you let others play through.impossible to enjoy a round of golf here.
