This is a bridge that was used for bi-directional vehicular traffic in the past. Due to multiple accidents as well as pedestrian safety crossing the inherit problematic narrow bridge at the North side entrance and exit, unusual angles and traffic flow North to South / East to West at the Northwest southbound entrance to bridge and load-bearing concerns of the aging bridge, DOT changed the bridge to a one directional bridge for vehicles with a new improved wider bi-directional pedestrian walkway.Ultimately due to the cost of maintaining the bridge to Safely be able to bear the load of the of vehicular traffic as well as improving pedestrian flow at the West end of riverfront Park across the River, they made it into a pedestrian-only Bridge. That is the Post Street Pedestrian Zoned Bridge Story.
Not a through street! Pedestrian bridge only!
This bridge is WACK! Its like it cant safely handle vehicular loads or something.
