Great sports complex. Football, baseball, soccer and skate board park. Lots of parking, playground and coveted space. Something for everyone. Beautiful!

Good place for sports of all kinds and for all ages. Were there twice a week for bmx racing.

Quite spacious, great place for soccer/football games. At night there are spot lights on the field.

We practice at Merkel and play games.I like it. Even at night you can play because the lights are on!!

My niece switched soccer teams this year and most of her games are at this complex. I love how it has room for everybody, from tiny kids to adults. Plenty of parking, plenty of space on the sidelines for both teams, parents, and younger siblings to run around. I enjoy coming here every week!

Such a nice complex. I hadnt been here since I was a kid playing softball. Now playing on an adult city team and it is crazy the improvements they made. The concessions are a nice addition also. We got the giant pretzel and they actually forgot to make it so after about 10 minutes we asked about it they apologized (they were pretty busy) and then gave us 2 pretzels.

Two nice turf fields. Lots of grass.

There is so much more to this park. My kids like the skate park and occasionally like playing football there.

Love playing city league softball on these fields. Fences are long making a bigger outfield, about 310 ft fences. Lights for night ball on all the fields. Play area for the kids is nice

This place would get 5 stars if the playground area was fenced in, or if it didnt have bushes right in the middle blocking my view of the slide from the splash pad. (I have a newborn, and not a helicopter mom but I still want to keep an eye on my toddler!) Other than that it is a cool little area!!! Clean and fun toys for the kids to play around on!

This BMX track has a HUGE starting hill and its long! In the summer, prepare you kids and keep them hydrated. It got hot when we were there.

Went to watch my niece play in a softball tournament. A fantastic facility, and the staff was right on top of things. They fully redressed the infield between games, and kept things tidy and working flawlessly for the entire weekend.

Great sports complex! Lots of parking, clean, well designed. Bleachers for those that need seating, also room for bringing your own chair. Lights for night games. Great umps!

This sports complex is a jewel for our community! It has an amazing playground with splash pad, softball diamonds, soccer and football turf, a skate park, walking trails, clean restrooms all while being maintained beautifully with ample parking.

This is the best place to play softball in the area. Skate park and fields with a beer garden. Great place to go with friends and make new ones.

Beautiful facility. Great lighting for night games. French fries at the concession stand are seasoned and great. Bring your pillow to sit on the nice aluminum bleachers because its a little cold for night games in April. Field number 5 is on the North most side of the facility near Francis.

The location is wonderful! The directions dont get you to the parking lot, however. They take you to a neighborhood that, to my knowledge, has no possible entrance!

Good perk lots of places to run around, theres bathroom so thats definitely cool if you need an actual Cabana or like the underground area undercover area make sure you get there early or do the reservation otherwise there is a bunch of trees so theres tons of shade as well as Wide Open Fields so tons of sun! Splash Pad was a blast make sure you bring a towel no matter how windy it is you know your kid wants to play in it! Wood chips worst kind of ground coverage at the playground but hey a few slivers never hurt right? LOL

Everything setup for enjoyment of outdoor sports could use some netting on fowl ball areas to protect spectators have seen several days injured. But, for viewing excellent.

The ONLY place that doesnt have a numbered map showing the location of the baseball / softball fields! Why in heck doesnt the City of Spokane show the field numbers????? Plenty of field numbers in their maps for soccer fields but not BASEBALL / SOFTBALL!!! Come on idiots at the City Parks Dept! Make your damn maps more complete!!!!

Amazing fields, amazing concessions. I wish we had played more than one game there. Would suggest hosting the entire tournament there next year and not using the sandboxes at Franklin!

Really great park. The skate park is rad. However it was filled with a bunch of kids playing tag and running around aimlessly. If you are a serious skateboarder go early before the careless ones get there.

Love this sports complex, fields are always in awesome condition and beautiful.

I have played on many (soccer) fields and Dwight Merkel is by far the best.

This is a great place to be. There is always tons going on and a lot of things for everybody to do. This place is a job well done for the city of Spokane.

Great play area and splash pad for kids with shade for adults. When no games are going on it is very fill friendly and safe. Very well groomed and green!

A nice newer area with a lot of different areas for activities. There are 5 baseball diamond and theres a skate park for anyone who likes to skateboard or even razor scooter. There are sometime tournaments there like volleyball. Well maintained area. Plenty of parking.

I went here for a football game one time and it was freezing! That was ok. The seats have one cup holder on your right side and thats it. You only have the one on your right and not your left (weird huh?). But the food you buy here is overpriced ($8.00 a slice of pizza). Make sure you pack a snack pack in your purse! And bring a flask to stay warm in the winter!

Parking is a major problem when more than one event is scheduled. Parking regs are not enforced.

Great field. Lovely lighting. Great for sports. Equiped with 2 football fields, soccer fields, baseball diamonds. A park, playground, restrooms. There is even a skatepark nearby! The Joe Albi Skatepark. Just a lovely place to visit. Totally recommend this to anyone looking for a good time to either hang out with friends, or start a team! Family friendly, and is easily accessible by wheelchairs, and easy for one to navigate. Includes a map of the entire arena/park. Good for picnics too!

I agree with another local guide just not living up to its potential but we will see if all that advertising helps with that. I really dont like watching my kids play soccer next to the skate park and feel there should be some separation. I like the skate park and it must stay but we need to find a solution.

My son and I love this place great complex for baseball well-groomed well kept I have my baseball team play there any day of the week pretty good snack bar but when they have tournaments they do run low

Better signage! Huge fields for all sorts of sports, skate park, BMX track, water pad, park area for kids, basketball court, lots of areas to walk if you arent watching someone play or just taking a break. Dog friendly, super plus! The signage needs to be bigger and easier to read. GPS isnt the best so having a sign you can actually see when driving would help not everybody lives on that side of town. For those that have never been there before number signs for the fields on the fence would be really helpful! The parking lot on the way to field 8 and the BMX track needs fixed really rough on your car even going super slow. Its well maintained, clean, huge, restrooms and dog clean up bags for those that forget theirs.

Great place for baseball tournaments. Well maintained. The only complaint is the food service. Very, very slow. And I mean, SLOW! Need to get that part figured out, otherwise always a great experience.

I have been to Merkel many times for my cousins softball tournaments, as well as playing softball there a couple of times. The only thing I dont like about the place is the parking. They make the parking too small for SUVs and trucks to park. Overall, the complex is really nice and well maintained.
