Of all the theaters Ive been to. This place is absolutely next level!!! Super clean, extremely friendly staff whom genuinely care about giving you the best experience possible, Outrageously good food, generous portions, ridiculously comfortable reclining seating, strictly top shelf bar (absolutely no well liquors). Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone!!! Now all ages till 8 PM (must be accompanied with someone 21+), after 8PM 21+ ONLY!!! Makes a great date night!!!

An absolute, stellar, fancy, dine-in movie theater!! Great food, comfortable recliner seats, and amazing crew! Definitely recommended to go again and again since before 8pm, you are allowed to bring kids in. Although, after 8pm, it is strictly 21+ so it makes a great date night atmosphere. Love this place!

This is a very elegant and upscale way to go to a movie. It is nice that this particular theatre is for 21 and up, so you know there will be no screaming kids in your movie while you enjoy food and refreshments brought to your seat before the movie. You can order anything from steak filets to the classic movie theatre popcorn. Whatever you decide, is going to feel classy.This theatre is a good way to spoil yourself a little when seeing a movie.

Expensive matinee tickets at $12.00 but the lazy boy recliners are all about that Northshore luxury and in movie food service was nice. Nothing is free in the world. The company photo is misleading, CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED! No person under 21 years old will be admitted. Which is probably there are so many empty seats. No screaming teens here. The over 55 crowd will be happy.

At first I thought the tickets were too expensive but after walking inside, I understood why. The place is beautiful and the seats are one of the best theater seats I have ever sat in. They recline so far back you basically can take a nap on them. Not only that, the theater doesnt have that many seats which means less annoying people to worry about. Also since the tickets arent that cheap, all the teenagers will basically go to village crossing. Less kids = more enjoyable theater time. Also a pretty good bar with a good lineup of craft beers.

Best place to see a movie, comfortable seats, no one kicking your seat, great popcorn and cocktails!! I didnt give 5 starts because the bartender was not friendly at all, service was slow and we couldnt run a tab. Ive been able to run a tab in the past, which makes it much faster getting a drink and getting back to the movie. Improved the quality of your service, it used to be exceptional!!

Awesome experience!!! I haven’t found anything that compares to this theater. I wish that they would have changed 21 and over theater to (18 and over if accompanied by an adult). It means the world to me when I’m out with family or friends to have an adult evening.

Fancy movie theater. Waiters that come to your seat with food or drinks. Reclining seats. Super friendly staff. But poor design.My low rating because of poor design, I set in one of the last rows on top and there was a piece of wood wall extending from the row below that blocked good 1/8 of the screen. Im over 6ft tall and it was blocking my view when sitting up straight. I tried reclining all the way and almost half the bottom portion of the screen was blocked. Im not sure if thats the case for every seat or if my group got the unlucky ones. I cant imagine how uncomfortable this movie theater would be for someone short.

Arrived early for food since we always get there past the dining experience. Great staff very attentive but the food was very low quality. I understand that it’s a movie theater but I expected more for what was paid for. Both me and my boyfriend got sick off the food. He had a burger and I had the chicken Alfredo. Burger was dry and the pasta was nothing special. Had calamari as an appetizer which came out cold and really wasn’t much but pieces of fried dough. Not the greatest experience with dining. Really good place to watch movies! Good popcorn skipping the food next time.

On December 1st 2019, we prepaid for 2 central seats at this theater. When we showed up for the show, there were two senior citizens already occupying our seats. They came in at a wrong date, somehow they were admitted in (how is that possible?). They were an older couple and we let them enjoy the two central seats for which the manager gave us two free passes for a future matinee. I have misplaced the passes and called the theater to see if they would still honor free passes. The manager is obstinately refused. Given there are always a few available seats in the theater, I find it poor judgement, especially I am not some teenager looking for a free entertainment. If this manager was working for me I would have him fired. Anyhow, I think we will go to see movies elsewhere. Its their loss.

This is nothing like how it was when i was growing up. The place is nice and clean, the seats are great and the server was acting very racist. She acted poorly to the couple in front of us but the black couple that she helped next she acted like they were her best friend or family. She even had a 5+ min conversation with the second couple.

We arrived a couple of minutes late and the ticket checking guy (I think he was possibly a manager) took pity on us and still brought us our food. He went above and beyond making us comfortable. When I find out his name Ill edit my review, because he was ability amazing!

Good addition to the Orchard mall. We went for the Joker on Sunday fairly late. It was not packed so u kinda feel like u are in our oversized living room . Recliners are very comfortable. I was surprised that for a theater they have pretty good options for drinks. Full bar, good wine and champagne. Its recommended to go half hour before the movie starts to hace enough time to grab a bite and a drink . They have 2 options a lounge bar area outside or drinks and food can be ordered inside. They have a server. U cant order stuff during the movie for obvious reasons but the bar is pretty close. They have 2 locations one theater is close to Barnes and Nobles if im not wrong. This one is for all ages. The second location is also at Orchard mall close to Macys but only for 21y and older.

My mother and I went here on a whim; we wanted to watch the Joker. We didnt know it was a dine in theater since we never been here before. The tickets were $16 each and definitely not worth it. That is an insane amount to pay. Even Studio Movie Grill isnt that expensive and they are a dine in theater as well. We arrived at exactly the time the movie started, as I said it was a last minute plan. We were never told that we couldnt order food by the movie attendants and waited 20mins for someone to come (the entire length of the previews) before I decided to inquire. Then the lady told me they dont serve food after the movie begins. So she told me we needed to arrive 30min prior to order food. I ordered with her and had to wait there while she poured my drinks. I was missing 15min of the movie we paid $16 for!!! She explained that customers are given a buzzer to alert them when their food is ready and have to get it themselves!! That is the most ridiculous thing Ive heard at a dine in theater. Studio movie grill always has service table side. We ordered the tender meal and a pretzel. The food was not good at all. The pretzel was just piece of bread in a pretzel form, it was nasty. The cheese that came with it had bacon in it and I do not eat pork. The menu never said anything about that. The tenders were very breaded, the fries were not cooked well. The overall experience was horrible and needless to say I will never come here again. If you want a dine in experience go to Studio Movie Grill, they are on groupon and the food is good.

Great place to watch movies. It’s our favorite theater. We went tonight and were disappointed to see fries were removed from the menu. Have they gone crazy? Who serves chicken fingers and burgers with only tator tots. Very poor decision by management. I would revisit this.

The movie theater is great. They also have seating area if you want to have a drink.

My husband and I decided to come here this past Saturday for our date night thinking it would be an enjoyable experience. Once we got seated and had our orders taken we were patiently waiting for the movie to start. Our meals came but they forgot to bring our drink order. No big deal, I went to the lobby and got it my self. We ate our dinner and had our drinks but the theater was progressively getting warmer and warmer. I thought maybe it was just me. Once I started telling myself to be absolutely still in order to cool off, I knew it wasnt just me. It got to the point where my husband was visibly sweating. He was so uncomfortable that he went to talk to management about the temperature. He was told that other patrons were complaining that it was too cold and that theyd turned the a/c off. I understand it was the last show of the night but that doesnt mean we should have to be so uncomfortable. We didnt plan on staying in a room that was almost as hot as it was outside. We left half way through the show (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). We spent about $140 here in an attempt to have a great night. We could have stayed home watching netflix and saved all that money. Were pretty disappointed with our first experience here.

The venue was great, but they automatically added gratuity to my beverages before I received/ tasted them. Then, I inadvertently tipped again before I realized theyd included it.

The first time I went to this movie theatre, I was blown away. Such a great experience! I loved the blankets, great menu options, and the immediate service when requested. I couldn’t wait for my family to visit so they could experience it for themselves. It was a special treat that I looked forward every month. My last experience, however, wasn’t so great. No more blankets, my meal was cold, and the waiter forgot my dessert. The service buttons are now deactivated, so I didn’t see the waiter until the last 10-15 minutes of the movie. They’ve done away with everything that made this theatre so unique. I can go to any movie theatre to get what they’re offering now. So disappointing.

We were the first ones in the theater and the first ones to put in our order which was popcorn and two drinks, simple enough. It was $34 which wasnt really the issue but for that much money I expected to actually enjoy it. Waiters start bringing in orders one after the other, except ours. Movie starts, nothing. I press the service button, nothing. The whole movie we are sitting there obviously thinking about the fact that we spent $34 on something that wasnt going to come and having to deal with getting a refund on our way out. I get mistakes happen but I most definitely will not go back and I wouldnt recommend it.

Great experience great service overall

I totally understand why this place is expensive. The place was great! Especially the new bar and dining area at the front and the theater itself was amazing with really comfy chairs and food service! I came here with a group of friends for the first time to see The Incredibles 2 and it was the best day ever! One of the staff members was really kind enough to take a picture of us with some of the movie posters! I would really want to come back here again soon!

Great service and great viewing experience. The movie ended at 1130pm and the bar closed at 1015pm, which caught us off guard. Not a big deal if you knew and planned for it.

Beautiful place, great food and drink. Comfortable reclining seats. The pizza was very good especially for the price alone. My only complaint would be that the order cooks make sure theyve completed the order and the bartender be a little more prompt. Overall my family loved it.

It was a very poor experience. The movie was good. Our seats were broken the service was sooooo poor. We ordered a crab dip with celery the celery was old and wilted. We asked for popcorn and we never got it. They need to get their act together if they intend to charge the amount of money that they do.

The food was disgusting, my chicken tasted like fish and was overcooked on the outside. The fries were cold. Service was fine. So NOT worth the price. That was my first and last visit...

OMG, LOVE THIS THEATER!!! The customer service was amazing all the way through and our bar tender Mario was the BEST!!! Were not from Chicago and he made us feel so comfortable i wanted to take him home with us!!! It was clean, the food was great like something you get in a restaurant, the restrooms were flawless! Our experience at the bar alone was so great we didnt even make it inside the theater! If your in Skokie you must go here!!!

This place would be much better if it didnt have that stupid over 21 rule. What is the point of that?? And they were showing Toy Story 4 in that theater... I dont get it.

Was a great place for dinner and a movie. Recent policy changes ,that are not posted on the website, have resulted in you having to arrive 30 minutes before your movie to get food and drinks served to your seat. The call buttons were deactivated so you can’t call a server. You end up having to flag someone down. To top it off 5 minutes before the movie they stop serving so if you want food or drinks or even a popcorn refill you have to leave the theatre and go to the bar...............that defeats the point of paying extra money for a “dine in” experience. Now it’s pretty much an expensive “regular” movie experience with just ok food. Oh did I mention you have to pay when you order kinda like a takeout restaurant. Those that complained and were worried about being bothered during the movie just go to a regular theater during off peak hours or wait for on demand. That’s what we do. We won’t be back.

Finally a place where you can go and enjoy a movie without the noise of teenagers.And the serve adult beverages and food.We will be going here again soon.

I did not have any food or drink as I did not know what the experience was all about. Just went to see Creed II with my dad for a Saturday matinee. The staff from ticketing, seating etc was very friendly. I live in Northern Virginia and it has become the standard to have reserved seats that recline. I really dont like to go to the movies unless they have that set up. However, I really enjoyed the space and privacy and would love to return for a date night and take advantage of the full experience.

The food is literally incredible, you wouldn’t expect a movie theatre to give you a menu with restaurant quality food on it, also service is amazing and workers are super nice... I come every weekend and I never regret it

Pricey but worth it. Great push button reclining seats with tray table. Food was amazing. Gourmet popcorn was good. Customer service was awesome from everyone. The staff were a reason go along with the quality of the experience.Tuesday is $5 and Thursday is $6 students day with id.

I wouldve give 5 star. I went here once, the seat are very comfortable, but the hand rest was wet. Its a small theater, so I think they should keep it nice and clean after each movie. I couldnt put my hand on the hand rest throughout the movie because it was wet. I hope you guys will do a better cleaning for the future.

This is a pretty awesome experience honestly. Pricey for sure, but its for the experience. Wish waiter service ran during matinee but its well worth for normal hours

The experience was definitely not what we expected for the price. The ticket seller was friendly and informative. We arrived very early and he suggested we return later or wait upstairs in the bar. We had a pleasant walk around the mall and returned a little too early for seating so we could experience the bar. That was where things went downhill. We were told by the ticket taker that they would come get us when we could enter the theater. They did not so we had to rush to decide our orders. The tables were not cleaned at our reserved seats. I ordered a salad with my meal and the wrong one was brought to me, but I couldnt tell because it was dark until I had already eaten most of it. I ordered a milkshake for dessert and asked for it to be held 45 mins. After an hour, I had to go to the lobby to ask for it. It came 30 mins later. They charge you for the meal and tack on an 18% tip up front. If you want to change the tip, you have to go back to them and do it during or after the movie. All in all, we were very disappointed in the service.

Student tickets Are clearly advertised on screen, employee tells us to ignore all the prices on the screen as they don’t offer student tickets, but only outrageously overpriced adult tickets. Talk about false advertising.

Its fancy, but still too much money for a movie night. Theaters keep trying to upscale, and while somewhat successful; the only major benefit I personally enjoy is the upgraded seating. Tickets are still high, food in any capacity is outrageous at theaters so really... Not worth the extras imo. Comfy and clean though.

Ive been to the CineBistro and the Market location and loved both theaters!! The seats are so comfy and the food is restaurant quality. Definitely the nicest theaters in the area and the prices are not expensive.

Best luxury cinema in the area. muvico rosemont was the place years ago but is getting dated and in need of renovation. cmx has the modern, luxury look and surprisingly large theaters -- big seats and a limited number of them per screen mean it never feels crowded even when fully booked. only con is that the place needs a better cleaning: floors and seats always seem to have bits of food on them and theres black gunk building up in the crevices of the restroom sinks. managers, start kicking some a**!

Very disappointing. I had a gift card for 2 tickets that I was so excited to use. Online it was saying that the movie starts at 7:15, when we arrived at that time the guy at the front said that it has started at 7 and we are too late to get in. What’s the point of having different time online?! Wasted evening.

Look, I really wanted to like this place. The seats are huge and comfortable, but it sort of ends there. Movie tickets were $20, which makes me WAY less inclined to see movies there. The menu simply said candy, and when I inquired about what their candy selection was, they said oh we get that a lot, which makes me think that someone should probably update that menu. Beyond that, I ordered some M&Ms, and after sitting through an entire movie, they were NEVER brought out to me even though I was charged for them. After the movie, I asked about it, and they gave me the M&Ms, and it was a completely normal sized box. Not a movie size. Which I guess is to expected, but for $7? Look, I wouldnt spend $27 to see a movie and get a box of M&Ms that isnt even brought out to me during the movie. I wish this place at least had a regular snack counter so you could get your own snacks so you dont have to count on people bringing things to you, because clearly they dont always deliver. Save your money, or go somewhere else where you can actually get the snacks you want, when you want, for way cheaper.

Good place. But recent change in serving policy makes it the same as any other movie theater. Now, you can only order food/drinks before movie starts. What’s the point of the “call” button by your seat and servers at this point?! For people who are “so annoyed” by interruptions that servers can cause bringing someone a drink once during the movie, there are other movie theaters that don’t have servers at all and you can enjoy your movie if you are the one so easily disturbed. Takes couple complainer to ruins a great idea.

The employees and management are great, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is very good. I was taken care of by a delightful and well spoken young lady named Tasha she made my experience very memorable and answered every question I had and I definitely will be coming back soon

Went to see Venom on 10/13 at 8pm and sat in D5 and D6 of theater 4. Our food came late while everyone else seemed to get their food before the movie started. Our appetizer arrived after our food! And only because I asked about it twice! And when we get our food we didn’t get napkins or utensils. I asked about the utensils and they never arrived so I got up to get some from the bar. We only saw our server at the very beginning while the servers on the other side of the isle seemed to be very attentive. And, watch it, tips are included when you pay upfront. If we would have known the service would have been this bad we would have tipped less but I guess hindsight is 20/20. We don’t plan on ever returning!

Classy but still cheap! Amazed they were able to keep ticket prices at $12 considering how fancy the place has become and more suited for dates. Seats are super comfortable now and theres tons of food/draft beer options. Actual screens feel small in comparison.

All food brought out, one size no opportunity to salt or butter popcorn. Seats recline so youre looking at the ceiling. If you recline the seats the barrier in front blocks the screen. Did I mention that you have to tip someone to get popcorn? Seats are grouped by 2. If you come with a kid someone will be about 5 feet away from the others.

Horrible! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. This theater ruined my daughter’s 17th Birthday. She has early release from school today and wanted to see a movie, I thought how much fun it would be to have the dine in experience. So instead of going to the theater we live near, we headed over to the mall with tickets previously purchased through Fandango. When we arrived at the theater we were told it was a 21 and older only establishment. I read very clearly at checkout that this was a 21 and older establishment, but minors were admitted with a parent or guardian to shows that started before 6pm. I asked to speak to the manager, Bob Thomas and showed him on the website where it stated this. He simply said that they accept tickets purchased on fandango but that information was not accurate and he could not admit anyone under 21 to the theater but that we could try the other CMX theater. Our tickets were for a 4:30pm show, the other theater did not offer this movie until 8pm. I told him we planned her entire birthday evening around these tickets, he shrugged and said sorry there’s nothing I can do other than refund your tickets. My daughter was super bummed and just wanted to go home. I have never been so disgusted with poor customer service in my life. I asked the person working the ticket counter how many tickets were sold to the show, she said only 4 other tickets. He could have allowed us to come in to a 4:30pm show after I let him know that it was her birthday. Almost no one was in the theater, and the mistake was not ours, 3rd Party or not, they allow tickets to their theater to be sold through fandango and instead he choose to do nothing. I will NOT spend another dime at any CMX theater.

Pretty good theater. Prices are a bit extreme for the food. The chicken tenders are huge but did not meet my expectations.

Seats are very comfortable. Popcorn is either too salty or taste stale.

Theater is clean and fancy, however, its hard to watch a movie when people are whistling for their server for more food and closing checks around you.

I can’t say enough great things about this theater! I’ve never in my life had such a good experience like the one this staff provides! As soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted and assisted. We got our tickets and proceeded up the escalator. Above our heads was a beautiful art installation. When we got to the top we were then greeted again by a lovely staff member who showed us to our screen. When we entered our theater, a waiter (yes a waiter!) named Goose showed us to our reclining seats and gave us some menus and told us the specials for the evening. You can order anything from popcorn to filet mignon. Seriously! We got a milkshake and some candy and it was brought to our seats by the waiter a few minutes later. The milkshake was delicious. After the movie, there were staff members outside the theater who asked us how the movie was and offered us chocolate mints on our way out. And then before we left the building some more staff members were sure to say goodbye to us, thank us for coming and asked us to please come again. DEFINITELY coming back here for all our future movie endeavors! A+++ service!!

Im giving it two stars simply based off movie selections. They need to do a better job in bringing more movies to the theater. The movies that they do bring to the theater are trash!!! A positive is that its beautiful and staff is nice.

Walking in you are warmly greeted (keep in mind I went to a 10:15 am showing on a Wednesday). I was escorted up the escalator and to my theater seat. Along the way, the staff explained what to expect during the movie/dining experience. I felt like a VIP!Recliner seating is offered along with blankets and charging ports for your phones. Menus are provided with service throughout the movie (this may annoy some people and obstruct viewing). Children food options are limited, as my 9yr opted for something else on the menu. Expect to pay premium price for food and drinks. I was left sitting in the movie theater after it ended wondering when/who I was going to pay for my food and drinks.Overall pricing for movie/dining may deter some people from making this a regular event.

The picture and sound quality were just fine. The theater was not clean. And the seats are comfortable as long as you dont recline, in which case you cant really sit in them

The dine in part can use some loving. We went early for a show and decided to order some food in restaurant/bar and it took about 15 minutes until someone helped us then we waited for our food for about 20 minutes, mind you it was just two orders of fries. But other than that my favorite place to watch movies LOVE the seats!!

We sat in those uncomfortable reclining chairs and ate a terrible lobster roll brought to us by a waiter. If you’re going to a movie this experience is not great and definitely not worth the extra cost. Go for the classic experience and avoid this bad idea. Who came up with this anyway?

By far, this is the most excellent theater experience in Chicago; pricey though it may be, the finishes, sumptuous seating, and plush upholstery pay for your ultimate, unmatched comfort. The seats are roomier and sleeker than at Block 37 too, and the menu is diversified.It’s true that the service hasn’t quite achieved excellence - yet! I ordered only a hot tea and was sorry to find that they had no tea at all; my server came back to offer me coffee, but i didn’t get it until a clean half-hour later, and without a proper stirrer, at that. But the staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful - you just get the impression that they’re getting their legs under them.We will be back!

Ive usually been to AMC and Regal and the theatres werent that attractive, but oh my god! CMX is one of the absolute best theatres there are. It was a very good experience!!!

Bad experience:- Bought tickets online to skip the ticket line, however had to wait in ticket line to scan digital tickets.-Seat tray was dirty, had to request for it to be cleaned.- Every refill for drink is charged as a separate drink.- Ordered a soda, it was delivered to people next to us.-Ordered a pizza, it got delivered to people next to us.- Ordered a water, I was brought a Sprite and charged for it.-Staff was friendly.For the price, I expected an awesome experience accompanied by great service. I did not get what I expected.

This is not for families. Great for dates. But not awesome for kids. My son wanted to see the Incredibles 2. The seats are great. They are comfy. The food was good. And service was fine.

I usually love this place but it’s been somewhat frustrating with some of the changes they have made. Today really bothered me because we sat down around 4:45 for a movie scheduled to start at 5. It’s not 5:40 and the previews are still running. I haven’t had my server check in and they actually haven’t come back in the theater at all now that I think about it. This place is nice if they are showing your movie on the 1st or 2nd screen but the theaters 3-6 are forgotten about. For $16.00 a ticket I feel as though they should care about every theater the same. The food is good and the seats are comfortable but I’m starting to feel like this place has become a bit over rated.

A premium experience, at a premium price. Firstly, the luxury was everything we expected. From the moment you walk in, to the ticketer walking you to your theater, to the cozy seats and their amenities, you feel like a VIP. The lobby feels like a fancy hotel lobby. You can eat in a formal restaurant setting or in your seat. But like I said you pay premium too. Tickets are pricey, and the food is EXPENSIVE. However it was truly amazing quality, and I was shocked I was served such food in a theater. The price is my only complaint, and turns this into a special date only spot for me. Definitely not my regular movie spot.

Bought tickets for tonight for my daughters and myself on Fandango but a Yelp review mentioned that it was 21+ for movies and dine in. Is this true? If so I will never come here. If not true, please let me know ASAP and I will erase this post.
