This place was so fun! It captured the energy from when I was young and went to roller rink parties but with a safe, chill and incredible vibe. The music choices were perfect. And it was not crowded leaving room for experimentation. Also the staff was super duper friendly

Friday, Adult time, Covid-era -Not too crowded, masks enforced.Nice mix of abilities; some beginners, most decent, some worth watching.This rink always seems small to me (Im mostly used to Lynnwood), but, I dont really know. Its got more character, though

Super fun roller skating rink! My boyfriend and I went for the adult skate and it wasnt too crowded. The skate rental is included in the price of admission, making this a super affordable date night and a great way to get some recreational exercise in. Definitely looking forward to my next visit!

Great place for kids parties or just Family Skate days/nights. The staff here is so friendly and taught my 5yr-old son how to skate with a few tips over just three trip to the roller rink. After just a month’s time my son was helping other kids skate and going around the rink like a pro. I am so thankful for the friendly staff. My son basically lives in his skates and now brings his own when we visit the rink.

Skate rental is included with entry. Bar in the back is perfect for hanging out when you need a break. The skating is great and there were a few really good skaters dancing and doing tricks in the middle. It was really cool!

This place is absolutely adorable. I love how the staff seemed to genuinely enjoy working here and even though my coworker and I came to check this place out during the family skate, the music was still really good and it wasnt too crowded on a Saturday afternoon. I told my buddy that if they didnt play bounce, rock, skate, roll at least once I was leaving (lol) and they played it twice so Im a happy camper!We have to show up during the 21+ skate next time so that we dont have to trip over peoples children who can barely walk let alone skate, but some of the little ones were absolutely killing it so it wasnt a huge issue. The skate rentals didnt take too long to get sorted out and the skates themselves were in surprisingly god condition for rental skates.

Great staff and awesome place to go skating. I feel at home here on Saturday nights. Preston is awesome at the door the bar staff down below during 21+ Skate. Josh Rhoads you are so awesome thank you for making skating fun again for me.I use to work at Kent Valley Ice Centre and the own and management the had a way of making me dislike skating. Southgate made me fall in love with skating again.

A fun place,not a huge ring . Nice 60s and 70s music,because I went for a disco theme night. They have a small selection of beers at the bar,wish they had liquor or more choices of beer pr malt liquor. I wish they had rollerblades too .

Its everything I remembered about skating at a roller rink. The staff is really friendly and helpful and they have 21 and up times. Video games, food, music, laser lights, fog machines and its a super value at 8 bucks a skater for family skate.

Good place to skate and have a beer

Been skating here for years, played Derby here have skated here 3x a week for years. Awesome staff, great owners, and probably the best community of people around. The music is 90% Disco with the rest being a mix of random genres on most adult nights which is probably my only complaint.

Came in from out of town and was happy to see this rink was 15 minutes from the airport. Went on a thursday night for an adulat session and was pleasantly surprised.The floor was well maintained and the crowd was very friendly! There was a little music for everyone which is fine by me. I would definitely go back.

Southgate Roller Rink is way cool its been there forever , its very easy to find this place . Theres plenty of parking places to park your car at close by here . Its a cool place to visit with your family and friends . It could be lots of fun . You can rent roller skates there if you dont have some . Going there to watch roller derby would be pretty sweet #love

Fun old school roller rink with an adult night. Fun music, $8 for entry and rental skates. Crowd was everything from beginners to some really fun to watch skaters. Easy parking with an on-site parking lot. Service was super friendly.

I never leave negative reviews anywhere but had to. I was told I couldn’t skate with my skates because they didn’t have stoppers. Two problems with this: One, I have been here before and had no problem with entry. Two, I know absolutely 0 skaters who truly know how to skate that use stoppers. Additionally no inline skates (which are allowed) have stoppers so the excuse of wanting to protect the floor is poor. Been to skating rinks across the US and have never had this problem. Lastly they are virtually the only skating rink in the Seattle area so it’s no real alternatives for skate enthusiasts in the area.

Oh that smell of nostalgia!! Coming in for a spin, blowing a couple quarters on the machines, and having a beer at the back bar definitely takes a few years off of how old I feel.

This place is fun, the crowd is fun and I like the Karaoke setup, you can sing with a wireless mic as you skate around. It has a full bar in the back.

Birthdays here are painless and they do everything for you. Bring a cake if you want, some balloons maybe, they got the rest covered. Had over $150 stolen from my wallet that was checked behind the counter. Called and was told that there staff was trustworthy. So not sure how the money despaired while under their care. Also they threw away a bunch of receipts in my wallet, one in which was for $60 in merchandise that I was going to return, plus spent $30 to get in so it was a pretty costly night for me.Update: The person that I had spoke to on the phone when I called to notify said he would speak to the staff and get back to me. It’s been 3 days and no word. I know I won’t get my money back, I just want to make sure others don’t become a victim. I also hope that this deters the person from taking anymore money from patrons. This will serve as proof that this type of event has happened in the past.

Great place to go for adult skate night. Also very enjoyable to go for specific events, such as Halloween. The only critique I would provide would be to play better music during the adult portion of the night as it can be painful to listen to at times. A new DJ would be of significant benefit.

Its been years since Ive actually been to this actual skating ring I used to go all the time when I was younger and it was a lot of fun would love to see more of my friends definitely was a lot of fun tonight with my good girlfriend and we had a wonderful time

They need cheaper water

A really fun way to spend 10 dollars and couple hours. The rink is a birthday destination, and kids love it, but you see all ages enjoying it. Its laid back and has good food.

This place was a ton of fun. The rink itself is pretty unassuming from the outside, but its a nice venue on the inside, they serve beer, and there are some great older arcade games on the outside if skating ends up not being your thing.

I had a great time here for Thursday night adult skate! I havent roller skated in many years so I was nervous but luckily it was reasonably not busy so I could take a little time to get steady without being too worried about getting in the way. The crowd was a good mix of casual and more serious skaters who were really fun to watch. The music was great. I only interacted with employees for a total of 2 minutes probably - they were nice and efficient. There are plenty of benches to take a seat, a few tables for groups, and a cool bar in the back with just bottled/can beer I think - I didnt see a full bar or any food service, just FYI on those.I will happily go back here - its a fun spot with a retro feel and super chill crowd. I got in a good workout and had fun people watching - a bargain at $8

My friend rented this place out for his birthday. We had a LOT of fun! Roller Skating Karaoke was a blast. I would certainly go back. As a venue this place is unique and memorable.

Wanted to check it out and walk around and see. Front door guy was rude and demanded 10.00 just to see it. Bad experience and not friendl . Wish them luck.

Grew up skating here, even broke my ankle afterwards falling in the parking lot when I was 12! Love the restoration work and new look inside. Same fun place, but better. Love the feature of local ice cream from the block, Full Tilt for the win.

Cute place but it is small and there are some bumps in the floor that should be fixed. The Tuesday DJ is terrible but I was told the Thursday DJ is better . I wont be returning on Tuesdays until a new DJ is used but will see how Thursdays are.

Not a fan of the cover charge if you aren’t able to skate but want to hang out with friends (that are skating) and grab a few drinks. Lost beer sales. Used to go skating here back in the day and the crowd is not what it used to be.

My family loves this place. Since my children started to come here for birthday parties, our family got hooked and we come here now at least once a week to skate as a family. On some nights, they also have bands setup in the middle of the rink and play shows for the 21+ crowd (they also have a bar). So my wife and I will come try that some time. On Sunday mornings, they do and introductory skate class for both kids and adults. I found this class really helpful for my children and for myself. They rent standard skates which are included in the cost of admission. For only $4.50 extra, you can rent nicer Reidell skates which have better parts and skate really nice. The staff here are great. They are awesome with inexperienced skaters (both kids and adults)-super welcoming. Theyll give pointers right there on the rink. And if you fall, theyll come by and check on you. And even theyll sometimes create a little blockade while youre on the floor so you can get up safely. No attitudes. No elitism. The staff is about having fun and being safe. Inline skates are allowed here. The rink is old school hardwood. There are imperfections in the floor, but that gives the rink its character. Its fun to skate on. Took my kid here for a BDay parry. Its a fun place with friendly staff. The only not so good thing is the music is really loud. If you plan on taking your kiddos here, I would recommend bring some ear plugs with you.

Fun place to take the kids. Great atmosphere, plenty of parking, great music, the bar does sell beer. (which my husband loves) Honestly a place where everyone is happy, plus skating helps wears the kids out. Staff is nice, helpful and patient.

Ive been a purposeful person for most of my adult life, and only indulge hobbies when they promise limitless joy and full emotion. You can make compromises all you want, but I wont. Southgate makes the average person a beacon of limitless audacity, and untethered freedom. I would risk it all, to become a shuffling dreamer, and till the soil of my virtue, with eight wheels, that feel like home.

Southgate roller rink is our favorite place to go skating. The staff is super friendly and helpful, for a while we were going at least once a month, they recognized us everytime and made our girls feel really special. The weekend classes are also great for beginner skaters, weve taken them a few times and it really helped our girls get confident with skating.

Super funny retro. I went for my nieces birthday. I didnt skate but I did have a couple ciders and played some Frogger on the free mini console in the bar. They have pizza. The kids all had fun and the bartender was nice, heh.
