My wife and I visit Seattle frequently from South Carolina and the first place we head is the Frederick Holmes & Company Gallery. We have visited galleries across the country and this is by far our favorite. The owner, Fred Holmes, is a encyclopedic source of information about the artists that show there. Not only does he provide biographical information about the artist but he shares anecdotal information that gives the art a special charm. We have made purchases which had to be shipped across the country and it was always done in a timely fashion and always arrived safely. Dont miss this Seattle treasure!

A local treasure and visual feast! Absolutely wonderful gallery located right here in Seattle!Be sure to check out his latest exhibition on Walter Quirt ... A Science of Life. The owner, Frederick Holmes, is also very friendly and has great depth of knowledge, insight into the artists/work featured on display.

Fred was very knowledgeable and helpful. He took his time with us as we considered buying a wonderful painting that now hangs in our house. We will definitely stop in at the gallery on our next trip to Seattle.

We love this gallery and the art we have purchased from Frederick Holmes. He is so knowledgeable and helpful, but never pushes you in your choices. We live in Florida, but have family in Seattle, and a visit to Frederick Holmes and Company is always a must for us when we are visiting.

Was looking for a piece for my grandchilds graduation gift. Just wandered in off the street and found a lovely piece at a really reasonable price. Enjoyed the rest of the art too.

Frederick Holmes and Company is absolutely wonderful! With events featuring dynamic artists and artwork that is accessible to collectors of all varieties - the experience is hard to beat.I began my collection with Freds help and have not looked back. Four years later and I love my piece even more; a fact confirming how skillful Fred is at introducing art lovers and collectors to pieces theyll treasure. Perhaps more importantly - as a first time collector - I did not feel pressured. I didnt even have second thoughts. Fred answered all of my questions with patience and expertise. Thanks to him, I have an art collection now!As for the events, I have had the honor of seeing several shows at Frederick Holmes and Company that blew my socks off! Theres no other way to put it... From a once-in-a-lifetime viewing of the most well-preserved Belle Epoque/Lautrec posters Ive seen outside of museums to concerts with playable glass instruments, showings at the gallery never disappoint.Sign up for their email list to receive exclusive info about the events - otherwise it can sometimes be a closed event. Sometimes (frequently?) the events fall on the First Thursdays, but are not open to the public.Check out the gallery, and have a chat with Fred and company! Be sure to explore upstairs if you can! ;-)

Fantastic Gallery ! Owner is patient and helpful in finding artwork that we might be able to afford, and is highly relevant to the art dialog going on in the art world today! Stop by and you will not regret it.

We ducked in as a family in after a Seattle sounders game and fully understand that we were not their intended clientele. I has been in for the first Thursday art walk and wanted to share a piece with my parents that I though was lovely. And indeed the piece in question was still gorgeous and impressive. But alas, whoever was behind the desk was not in he mood for our clearly inferior art viewing experiences. Were not sorry we stopped in. Were just sorry youre crabby and unhelpful.

Enjoy the art.. You wont enjoy the snobby attitude.. Unless you like that kinda thing. Avoid talking with the owner for a good experience. And DONT touch anything!!!
