I found this place on Google maps months ago when looking for an aerial silks class. I finally dropped in (get it) for 2 of their trapeze classes last night and they were both wonderful. I received an almost full body workout in the static trapeze class. The instructors teaching style was challenging but supportive and understanding, reminded me a lot of my Gymnastics days. She slowly progressed my conditioning, prep, and skills thoroughly and threw some fun challenges my way. Overall would take her class again. The second class was the Flying Trapeze and it was so much fun. They walk you through basic ground school (literally) before having you do the real thing. Like all training, one must progress from the training wheels to and mastering the skill of listening and timing took; this took a lot longer for me to grasp time but the instructors were patient and supportive, as were the other students. One called me out for being negative and gracefully reminded me that I could do it. Im a retired gymnast, cheerleader, and pole vaulter. The idea of flying never scared me until this class but the feeling of accomplishing the back tuck dismounts and completing a catch, is the best feeliy ever. Cant wait for the next class.

5 stars for the teachers -5 for most of management. While other studios have been transparent about how theyre supporting their teachers and reopening, ECTA has been less than forthcoming about their staff wages/staff support during covid (which is especially hard for circus staff), and their cleaning/reopening policies. Their teachers are amazing and the reason students come back so its a shame that they arent treated better.

I only stopped in while visiting, but they quickly built on the skills I trained for at other rigs and suggested more fun things for me to try out.If you’re a flyer, definitely go out of your way to check it out. We drove 5-6 hours from Oregon just to come here and it was totally worth it.If you live near Seattle and haven’t flown, lucky you! I appreciated the man (dont remember his name) who came up to us, introduced himself, and asked if the children had ever been to the facility. The guy was the trampoline teacher, and invited us to take his class. We appreciate your kindness and invitation!! Once summer plans are completed and school starts, we will be back!

Ive been taking classes here for a few months and Im obsessed. I take classes with Ethan and hes amazing. He gets to know each of his students (and there are a ton) and he makes sure to teach the class at the right level for each student, so we develop and learn and are challenged to keep going forward. His classes are fun and positive and I can actually see myself developing. The shows they put on here are insane. Theyre fun and crazy and wild and so impressive. Theyre super cheap considering the quality of the acts.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Walking in, the receptionist was so welcoming and friendly. When we got to the actual class, that’s when it got ugly. Tiffany, the pole dancing class instructor was extremely rude and unprofessional from the very beginning. We were running late and she rushed us into the class. This class began with exercises not meant for a beginner. I understand the importance of stretching before performing strenuous work but these exercises were for intermediate people. We did the best we could but Tiffany would go back and whisper with her little friend which came across as extremely unprofessional. We continued for 30 minutes of a workout and we progressed to the actual pole. Once on the pole, she showed us quickly and proceeded to whisper with her friend. Her friend would stare at us and no encouragement was given through the class. My friend and I walked out halfway through the class and sat until the rest of our friends were done. The receptionist was very apologetic and provided the owners emails. It’s unfortunate that we had this terrible experience being that it is our friends bachelorette weekend. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have an enjoyable time.

We came to the 8pm beginner rings class. Normally we love the classes there as we have come before and always had a good time and felt encouraged and supported by the instructors and the staff as we are normally first timers of the class we are trying. This class was listed as a beginner class so we figured we would be okay never having done it before. We were told upon checking in that the class was actually a level 2 but the instructor would teach to our level. That did not happen. The instructor along with telling us numerous times that it was not a beginner class, she “didn’t teach beginner classes” and “didn’t care about our feelings” was rude, impatient, and acted as if us trying our best but not being able to do some of the stuff was an inconvenience to her. She did not try to support us or help us attempt anything even slightly. If you can’t handle teaching don’t be an instructor! Not to mention we paid 30 dollars each to be there and were half of her class! But it was obvious she favored the returning students as she spent most of her time with them not really giving us a lot to do to keep us entertained. She definitely ruined our experience with her rude comments, remarks and attitude. I think it is safe to say we will never be back at least to her class.

This is a review comes two years after the beginner class I took. It was such a fun experience that I enjoyed the most during my 6months staying in Seattle. Staff was friendly and supportive, experienced and I felt safe to let them catch me. Everytime when I am back to visit Seattle. I always want to do it again. Love it so much. However, I must admit that as a beginner, we spent a lot of time doing preparation on floor (which I think is fine) and have to wait for long. As I was only able to go for four trials of swings only for the entire class(2 were the catching one which I did it!!). Will totally give a five star review if I can go for a couple more swing.

I decided to join my two kids for trapeze class because they had a special rate for Memorial weekend. I am 39 years old with zero experience, but I do love a challenge and my daughter was begging me to try. For the new students, they have you go through a safety rules and practice on the ground before getting in line to fly. This part took much longer than I expected considering there were only 3 new students; it was 45 minutes into class before I had my first swing. Returning students start right away and get to skip the intro and waiting around. I was shaking my first time up the ladder, but the instructor was very calm and reassuring. My nerves got the best of me and my first swing was a hot mess. The second time up was much better because I wasn’t so nervous. I still didn’t nail the routine but I was closer and more confident. The third time up was probably my best attempt but my timing still wasn’t quite there. My fourth, and last, time up was also close - but I didn’t manage to get my knees around the bar on the first swing and I wasn’t cleared to try a catch. So, I was able to get in 4 swings before they started doing catching and then I wasn’t allowed to participate anymore. I was disappointed to only get 4 practices and I didn’t realize that if you weren’t good enough to try a catch you would have to just watch for the last half hour. I’m sure there are new students who are able to get the routine down well enough in 4 tries to attempt a catch, but myself and my 8 year-old son were not among them. For me, at $15 per 30-second swing, the price wasn’t worth the experience. Don’t get me wrong, it was a fun an exhilarating experience, but it was 2 minutes of practicing, 2 minutes of flying and 116 minutes of watching and waiting.

Great place to try something you probably havent done before! Huge space with many classes of circus arts. It can feel a little cliquey at first, only because regular patrons are very committed to their art and are at the studio all the time, so they know each other very well. But if you keep going back to classes the instructors take a sincere interest in your progress and then you become one of those people who is there as much as possible. I started with acrobalance with Jenny Penny and dabbled in a few other classes. Ive become more flexible and fit, and after a year I still feel challenged.Would definitely recommend an acrobalance class to start if youre not sure what class to take, and want to ease in with a friendly, fun, and passionate instructor.

Ive been taking classes here for about 2 years, and have done just about everything except the trampoline. The space is truly magical, and the people (both instructors and students) are a fascinating group of artists from diverse backgrounds. Every penny you spend here will pay dividends in memories. With all that said, I do take slight issue with their cancellation policies (if they dont have at least 2 students (3 for flying trapeze) they will cancel a class). I feel that occasional low attendance is one of the costs of doing business, and its not the students responsibility to make sure the classes are full. Moreover, the tentativeness of the schedule makes me reluctant to book anything too far in advance.

There were ten people at my time slot which I believe is the max number of people they allow at one time, and even with so many people I had 4-5 turns on the trapeze. They made me feel really comfortable and safe throughout the experience and they were very supportive when you would do something right and very gentle in helping you know what you did wrong and how you can improve on your next turn. I was able to do everything they asked even though Im not in great shape and have very little arm strength. Plus you are always hooked to some sort of rope system so if you fall they let you fall gently onto the net. I already bought two more classes! Absolutely loved it! Such a unique experience! I use employees loosely because to me they seem more like a family than anything else. The instructors were great, they make you feel like part of the family. First and foremost they stress safety for obvious reasons. They are extremely knowledgeable/skilled and were able to break down the basics so anyone could understand. The only complaint I have is Emerald City Trapeze is located in Seattle and I live in Ohio.
