This business used to have a lot of clout in the gun community and in Scottsdale as a reputable and well established place to purchase, learn, and be involved in the firearms community. Until recently. They, like most businesses in this sector have seen a massive increase in sales and for good reason. But, I can’t help but be sorely disappointed with the lack of caring, communication, and concern for there customers by some of the employees behind the counter selling the products. From ignoring customers completely, not having qualified personal or teaching, and it seems to boil down to a lack of leadership from the top down which has been absurdly apparent. I understand they have been under staffed during this tough period of time and it does take a toll on you as an employee when dealing with customer after customer. But, if your the man or woman who gets paid to interact with the customers as far as sales are given, the responsibility of educating people on the products and knowing what your talking about is extremely important and should go hand and hand with the position. Yet, this is could not be further from the case currently. It feels as if you’re a nuisance when spending large sums of money and might have a question or ask for a suggestion. I’ll be taking my business to NW Armory next door, don’t get me wrong every company has it’s moments but this should be one for them to shine and create loyalty, not act ignorant and dismissive. I’ll echo the sediment, you’ll be waiting awhile to be greeted and when you are don’t expect quality service. We all know it’s busy and there are more new gun owners more than ever, but it’s no excuse to treat people poorly.

Been going here for a minute and it used to have way more stock and Accessories it almost looks empty now. Not what I expected. Disappointed.

This place is awesome. Highly recommend. Just moved to Arizona for Colorado and MJ helped my wife and I with a membership and smooth transition. Looking forward spending my free time there. Also, instructors and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. We went during a busy hour on the weekend and the staff remained calm and made the process friendly. Im a lifer

Ive been a member for quite a few years, but, hadnt been back in a while. I went there today and the stall became inoperable after about 20 minutes. I couldnt find a range officer so I packed up and headed to the desk. There were only 2 people at the desk and after explaining the issue was told that someone would help me soon so I headed back to the stall. Since they seemed to be so short handed I decided to be patient. After over 20 minutes still no range officer and no help from anyone. I was now about out of time so I decided to leave. I mentioned the issue with the stall to the gentleman that checked me out and he offered to switch me to another stall. I dont understand why that was not offered when the issue first came up! Customer care sure doesnt seem to be what it used to be.

My wife and I recently started coming here, switching from another local major competitor. From the moment I first took a step into this Club, it felt like HOME. Donovan welcomed us and helped me pick a great LWRCI-DI M6IC. Fantastic configuration with some upgrades out the door, at a GREAT price!A couple weeks later, we met MJ who blew us away with his calm demeanor, attention to every detail, and commitment to ensuring we got the pistol we wanted. Furthermore, MJ knocked it out of the park by giving us a tour of the facility, which led us to becoming Titanium members today! HUGE shoutout to MJ and the entire SGC crew!As a retired Marine who loves to put some rounds down range, I am glad my family has a new home where we can grow our new hobby together!

My wife and I went in this morning and the place was a zoo. Despite this, Alana was super helpful and got us both setup with memberships. Ryan and every single person we encountered today was top notch. Came in for a gun I ordered online and they went above and beyond to make sure I had a chance to shoot a similar rental gun first, so I could walk out confident in my choice. They were friendly, professional, and most of all incredibly knowledgeable. Answered all questions and gave great advice on gun cleaning, bullets etc. Top notch crew, great selection for sale and to rent, & the members lounge is beautiful. We take our European friends, family, and coworkers here too when they visit for the full experience. Highly recommend!

I contacted sgcusa through email, I was ensured the firearm I wanted was in stock and available all I had to do was order it and pick it up during store hours. So I purchased it with my credit card then once it posted i made the payment with cash to cover the credit charge, well due to the company selling the gun from under me during black friday I now will only recieve credit back to my account and im out 820$ cash, again due to no fault of my own, they didnt even ask if I was interested in another firearm or working with me at all. Instead they canceled my order 2 days after recieving my money and order. Check the pictures informed 4 in stock at 3:55, confirmed order by 6pm same day where they were already closed. They will not reserve your gun and will tell you well theres nothing we can do, we already sold it from under you when you call (exactly what was told to me during the call). Ive bought many guns from MOMONEYPAWN and AZGUNS and Id highly recommend going to these places before being screw over by sgcaz

I have been going to Scottsdale Gun Club for a long time now. It is a decent gun range, but that is all I can say. The employees, (at least the times Ive been in there) do not give you the time of day if you are not looking to purchase a firearm. I had gone in once with a gun I purchased from a different dealer. It functioned differently and it couldnt be taken apart. I wanted help in trying to figure out how to disassemble it since I had found nothing online and it is a fairly new gun on the market. No employee had asked me if I needed assistance for 30 MINUTES. I leaned up against the main gun counters, and not even a word was spoken to me. When I saw one employee in the center of the store, we had made eye contact and I thought this could be my chance of getting help. Not only did I not get help, The employee PURPOSEFULLY walked away when I approached him and went into a room what I would assume was an employee break room. I am bummed out, and it will continue to be a store that I go to, but the impression I get from the employees is that all they care about is selling firearms rather than providing faithful customers assistance. Maybe if I waited in line for the gun range would I actually have gotten help, but I shouldnt have to do that to simply get help. I hope to receive better service in the future, and hopefully I can one day take this review down.

I went today for the first time, excellent atmosphere, totally professional and friendly! Connor helped me and was a complete gentleman. I’m ready to buy my first gun, a Beretta.9mm M9 92 FS. I was able to rent it and test it out. We went through 3 boxes of ammo. My husband and I had the best experience. Cannot wait for my purchase and membership! Awesome! Simply AWESOME!

Where do I start?... I’ve come here 3 times but every time I come I am told to leave or pay for a membership because they are so busy. We aren’t from here so a membership is not feasible. The employees laugh that we will wait at least 2 1/2 hours just to get into the range. We went to c2 directly after being laughed at by the staff. C2 is great and so friendly!!!!

I have purchased guns at many stores in Arizona, Purchasing a gun at Scottsdale Gun Club is by far the best experience. The employees are very polite and helpful. I was helped by Ryan who was helpful and patient with me as I made my decision. They kept me updated while waiting for my background to come back. Very pleasant experience.

Began shopping here in the early 2000s. Purchased many pistols, Revolvers, rifles, suppressors, tac lights, extra hi-cap magazines, ambidextrous safeties for H&K USP pistols. Had a membership for a few years. Richard Machowicz even filmed a segment for the show Future Weapons at the club. Ive used the indoor range and rented a few machine guns to waste ammo at an increased rate. My favorite purchase would be a DSArms SA-58 back in late 2006. Thats an American made FN FAL in .308/7.62X51. I purchased a demonstrator model with fixed stock and no flash suppressor. That has to be the baddest rifle at the range when I pop her out of the case. Scottsdale Gun Club has been the only store I have seen carry an FAL from DSArms.

Horrible. First i called two days before i went there and was told its a first come first serve for the range. I show up at 950 and told its by appointment only for memeber until 10 am. Fill out the paper work watch the video get back in line than get told sorry were full you can come back another time. We left and went down the street to C2 tactical and were meet by friendly staff and people who wanted to earn my busniess. Will not go back. And no it does not state on the website that its appointment only from 9 to 10 and that if you dont reserve youll be told to leave.dont put an automated voice on the phone that says first come first serve than try to say other wise.

I’m a member and this place is like no other. They’re friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and they don’t pressure you into anything. I bought my membership because I knew I would be coming a lot. From the first time you walk in to the moment you walk out people are asking you if you need help or if they can answer any questions for you. Prices are a bit high, but they only carry top quality products so I get it.. 5 stars all around.

These employees act like they’re above you and will brush you off as long as possible just because they might not “like your vibe”. Making you wait an absurdly long time to do ANYTHING, like buy ammo or accessories, get set up for their range or even make a simple transfer.If you respect your timing or you have a schedule to uphold, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.Be prepared to spend AT LEAST 30 minutes standing around making no progress before you can even START CONSIDERING them to finally approach and help you. I do not exaggerate when I say I felt like I was waiting in line at the DMV.I felt very unwelcome. Each time I step back in here, it’s the same deal. I already had to plow my way through 2 transfers and that was a real pain to do.

Waited in line for 30 minutes for some ammo and was told they are only selling ammo to members and they’re not advertise anywhere saying that!!

The customer service I’ve seen today was the worst service I’ve ever received. You walk in and granted they are busy, but no one acknowledged you. I had to prompt someone for help and he explained how busy they all were. The simple fact, acknowledge customers who are coming in to spend money to keep your lights on!

I had a stellar experience with Marc behind the sales counter as he made my first time buying here (though not first time overall by a stretch) a smooth and pleasant experience. To me, professional and knowledgeable staff that are as excited for your purchase as you are make all the difference. Id like to give special thanks to Clement as he was also able to find a rare optic-accommodating Safariland holster for me that most places dont stock.

They offer free range time for veterans on 11/11. I love coming here and always enjoy myself. It was a great time using my firearm and gaining more experience with it. The staff is great and the prices are not extraordinary. Highly recommend coming and checking it out. You will not be dis-satisfied.

Not full auto friendly. Of course they say you have to be checked out by a range master but do not offer to check your proficiency. Very sad that one person not knowing how to shoot a full auto firearm spoils it for everyone else. I will not only never be coming here to shoot but I will not be purchasing anything ever again.

2019 November - Scottsdale Gun Club has a great selection of firearms and accessories, better than many stores. The store carries items for all budgets. Staff attended to me well during my first two visits this past summer. I was shopping, looking at options. Anthony was helpful. However, the staff have completely ignored me lately. Sales people need to understand, one must gain my trust and confidence to gain access to my financial assets. I dont part with money easily. I buy from those who work with me, who are patient and helpful. Maricopa County is loaded with gun stores. Competition is fierce. Show me that you want my business, and you will get it.

Had an amazing experience during my visit. The facility is in perfect shape and has a huge selection of guns to rent.All the staff was tentative, friendly and most importantly professional. All the employees at Scottsdale Gun Club are very knowledgeable and friendly. I went in to purchase a new firearm and the staff helped me pick one out. I was able to hold a few guns and they answered all my questions about different guns. They even let me shoot a rental firearm for free to get a feel for the gun. They also have an indoor shooting range.

Turning off your phones during a crisis because they ring too much is extremely petty. People want your support right now and you told them it wont happen. What, never worked in a call center? Any private business owner who turns their phones off at a time like now should no longer have one single customer once this reverts to normal.

Myself and 5 of my friends were visiting Mesa for the week from Canada. Most of us have firearms licenses in Canada and were comfortable around and operating firearms. We came here to try short barrel handguns, full capacity magazines and something full auto. The place was clean and well organized. We were treated with respect and had so much fun. Would highly recommend checking this place out if youre in the area.

I bought a membership for the Scottsdale Gun Club back in 2003 before it was even built. At that time it was a gun store on Hayden I believe called The Armory which is where I purchased my first gun ever! Wish I still owned it. I was a very active member from 2004-2009 until I moved to NY. I recently moved back to AZ and this time around I signed up for the Titanium membership. I have purchased so many firearms from them in the last 16 years including 2 recently. I have never had an issue here in all the years I have been coming. I look forward to the next 16 years of membership!

When I first moved to Arizona the first gun range I visited was Scottsdale gun club. At first I just paid as Id go but after seeing how nice and friendly the staff is I decided to buy a membership. I shoot quite often and every time I go the staff knows me by name and makes me feel like Im part of a family instead of just a number/customer. The whole staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to make u feel at home. Ive been to many gun ranges in my life and this place is by far one of the best, so If your looking for a nice clean and people friendly gun range Scottsdale Gun Club is the place. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

As someone who never held a gun in his hands before weve had a blast with Scottsdale Gun Club. They have an huge huge amount of pistols, Long rifles and even a few Lmgs, way more than stated on their website. Even though were foreigners (Germany), we had no problems signing up. They were super helpfull with all of our questions and showed us how to properly operate the rented guns. Thanks a lot to Kevin, Dakota and the smaller, bearded range officer(sorry ich dont know your name)! You guys rock!

Great place! Havent been there in a while. Awesome staff. Well as luck would have it a friend came to visit and wanted to go to your shop, so we did. Always a worth while venture. Seemed to be understaffed for a busy Friday evening....

Not impressed at all with this indoor range. First was the registration staff, there was a front counter guy (had a dark beard) who had the worst attitude (“I am the expert of all range questions”) who wanted to argue with me about adjusting the iron sights on the rifle I wanted to use. His rationale was the range is only 25yds. No need to adjust sights he claimed. I tried to explain to him the size of the circle targets(about 6in diameter)at 25yds is equal to 125 yds, so adjustments are needed. The young women who gave me the run down on how the rifle operated was interrupted by this guy. I could tell by her red face she was embarrassed from her face turning a lovely red. The older range master was nice enough but he did adjust my sights in the wrong direction. He finally gave me the screw driver so I could do the adjustments my self. This was 3/08/19, today I went to C2 Tactical and what a difference, but that is another review.

Used this club a few times when I was living in Phoenix. AZ has wide open deserts where you can really shoot and get down, but it’s nice to be able to shoot inside when the heat is on! Would not buy a gun from here, prices are pretty high. Nice facility, friendly staff.

Moving out of the area and had to cancel my membership. Be prepared for a $100 fee if youre not a member for at least a year. No way I recieved that much value for what I paid over the last 7 months or so. Would not recommend, and I will not return.

Best indoor range in the Phoenix area. The rental selection is expansive, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to come to beat the heat, especially on Thursdays for free lane rentals on Ladies Day.

Husband came back into town and wanted to take a few friends shooting locally and was told there was a small waitlist but they should be shooting within 45 minutes. They enjoyed the shop for about an hour and went back and asked when they were next and was told they had to wait another hour as members have priority. Not sure how they expect to gain customers or members when you deny people from using your facility. C2 Tactical is much friendlier and no membership required.

I was here with my wife a few a few times, we are both new shooters, we had a great experience. First the front desk were very helpful and informed about the guns. And if they didn’t have the information they asked a coworker rather than giving false information. On the range, the ranger was very patient in helping us operate the weapons as well as helping us get more accurate. We will be coming back here, and maybe even get a membership.

It was a great experience, my first time shooting! They have wide range of gun selection which you can rent.You need to pay for the shooting lane and book your slot. After that you could pretty much get everything on rental, safety equipment protective gear etc.The ammunition is a bit expensive though, they allow you to get your own from outside.

Ive been coming to the gun club now for over two years and the staff has always been super helpful. The recent upgrades to the lighting in the range are a nice improvement. I have also brought in multiple firearms for gunsmithing and every time they have done an exceptional job with a really quick turnaround time.

Excellent gun options, friendly staff and a professional environment. I went here with my girlfriend and we were instantly helped. All together it took about 25 minutes to get on the range. We fired a fully automatic M240B and a Glock.The place is welcoming to both the hardened weapon firing experts and neo hippies alike. The price for the LMG with 2 40 round clips and a glock with 50 bullets was $300.Highly recommend this place!

We had a really good time at Scottsdale gun club. The staff helped us a lot with everything and was really friendly. We enjoyed our visit so much that we came back a week later and we’ll come back soon again.

SGC has been my go-to range since it opened. It will continue to be until I can’t get there on my own.

I have been coming here for a few years now. Its Clean, with decent prices and great staff. I just wish they had more staff on hand because I seem to have to wait a while every time I go in there before someone can assist me. I will definitely be coming back though.

Fist time in, looking for membership information and purchase of new firearm. Nick met my daughter and I at the door with a warm smile and friendly hello. He asked how we were doing this day, instead of the typical how can I help you. That shows interest in your customer, that immediately set us at ease. Nick was extremely helpful, informative, but most importantly, in just the first few minutes, I felt like I was talking to a trusted friend. Nick went above and beyond for us and my daughter’s NEW membership. I looked around at different places, some of which are very good, but if you want to feel like you are around family and friends, Scottsdale Gun Club is where I would recommend.

Took my wife for her first shooting ever, and this place delivered, very friendly, patient and knowledgeable staff, ready to help, put my wife at ease! If you rent the guns, you can drop some serious money pretty quick, but its worth it! I will come back to this place every time I come back to Scottsdale.

Have been going to Scottsdale Gun Club for nearly about a year now , had some concerns at first prior to going regarding some of the negative reviews on so called discrimination however after becoming a member and purchasing from and firing at the range I can say that the staff is extremely helpful and informative on any questions you may have , Despite being a Hispanic male with tattoos I have not at any point felt any discrimination or condescending attitudes , I have always felt welcomed every time I have walked in through the door , overall it’s a good place with stand up people as well as a good variety of firearms and accessories, the member incentives such as free guest passes and discounts are a added bonus , Overall you can not go wrong with Scottsdale Gun Club

Probably one of my more favorite stores in the valley, good selection of stuff prices are about average comparing to online but buying here beats paying for shipping. Staff is very friendly and the employees definitely can hold down a good conversation.

I am a member at this establishment and it is a clean, safe, facility with training opportunities, and they robust sales department. Items can be ordered if they are not found on the floor or in storage. The store also has a gunsmith on site.While at the store, be aware of the location. Where is some things are very nicely priced, especially for members, others are more expensive by comparison.Theres a wide selection of firearms available to rent. This assists in purchase questions when you can simply go on to the range and rent a similar or the same firearm in order to help make your decision. They also rent automatic weapons and different interesting other firearms.When renting a firearm you will need to purchase their ammunition. If you bring your own in mission for your own firearm at the range, then you will just need to make sure that you have range safe ammunition, ammunition that is not magnetic, stuff without a buy metal or steel core.The store has available apparel, both tactical and more fun. The staff is generally knowledgeable and willing to work with you on determining what the best firearm for your needs might be.

Best shooting range in Scottsdale, from the guns to the facility I think SGC is the finest. I have also shot at C2 tactical and where that is also a nice range SGC just feels like a more reputable establishment.

Very friendly, knowleagable and helpful staff in well maintained facility. Its easy to find, parking is plentiful and they have a really good selection of merchandise for all levels/types of enthusiasts. Dason and staff are very respectful and the membership benefits (including military, veteran and law enforcement discounts) are really good. I can see how they tend to draw a lot of people! Sundays are busy but they are open until around 8 pm weeknights. RSOs (range safety officers) seem attentive and watchful to me...I can see why families come to this indoor range. Would recommend.

Been there a couple of times. Very friendly staff behind the desk and both range officers have been friendly and even helpful (not really their job to be helpful beyond maybe answering a question about the target controls). Very positive experiences.

Best place to shoot in town

Visited as a first time shooter, the staff was very knowledgeable and polite. After watching the safety video they asked some questions and pointed me to a great pistol to rent and try on their range. Felt very safe and comfortable throughout the entire experience.

Im from Canada , I had a blast , for the most part. Im reading all the comments and I dont know now if I was lucky or the service was actually good. Price seemed right for the ranges. And the instructor made sure I didnt kill myself. I thought the staff were cool for the most part. Im going again before I go back home Ill see if the vibe changes.

When I first bought my first firearm here, I was actually really excited to try it out at this facility and now Im actually not sure why I ever signed up for a membership here; the place has gone downhill quite a bit over the years.The display of guns is laid out really nicely and the staff can either be extremely helpful and friendly to ignoring anything you ask/say completely missing the definition of customer service just to push a sale.The pricing is a little on the high side but I guess if you get passed that the location is ok.The range itself is nice, air-conditionined and plenty of lanes that can unfortunately fill up quickly, but the location is easy to miss however has plenty of parking.My major issue are the range officers if you want to call them that. My complaints seem to be the same as other lower star reviews (arrogance, making customers feel uncomfortable etc).

Update: I hate to say this because I have always had a good experience here, but they desperately need to update their range rental procedures. Members must call in to reserve lanes and it’s very rare that the phone is answered. Voicemails are not returned. Please please look into switching to an online reservation platform so we can come shoot. :) Caswells has it so it can be done.Great friendly customer service and knowledgeable staff. Every time I come here, all of my questions are answered and I get help with anything I need. I enjoy the membership benefits.

Friendly staff, including range officers. If you go twice a month, the membership pays for itself. Its also nice to get free guest passes, discounts on ammo, targets, firearms etc. If you become a member, you get a free machine gun rental and that is an experience not to forget.They have recently updated the lighting which was needed. Many of the lanes were dark and hard to see. They are going to be updating the retail area and target systems hopefully soon. That will enhance the experience for sure.

The cleanest gun range Ive ever been to. A very large selection of products and rentals. Im coming from philly and in Arizona you are able to shoot full auto. I rented the scar and scorpion. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable. Even if you arent there to shoot they have a vast knowledge base to help you in any direction. I had a blast on their very modern range. Would recommend for anyone visiting in the area. Great experience.

As Australians, we felt we needed to do something we cant do here and shoot a gun! After a lecture about Australias gun laws from the Marshall, who was actually a really nice guy, he taught my son and I how to shoot a handgun and damn, it was fun! No sensationalism, really decent caring staff, we had a great, safe time. Highly recommended.

The girls here were so much more helpful and nicer than the guys but it was a great time shooting and renting out a good here. Super easy process as well

I have been a member at SGC for 5 years. Overall its one of the best indoor ranges in the country and Ive been to many. Is it perfect? No. If you do have a issue ask to speak to Walter in the front office. Hes very customer service oriented and will make things right. :)

Great gun store for the cool guns or should I say assault rifles and long rifles. The staff has always been very kind to me and even treated me to a tour of their private shooting range and sitting area. I would love for them to get an update virtual tour showing the ranges. I would be glad to film it!

I would recommend this location to first time shooters, as the friendly staff will make sure you safely enjoy the experience.

Great range, one of the few that allows holster draw once qualified through their instructors. Very well kept facility. I signed up for a membership and definition rely enjoy the stress free lane usage - which is unlimited for a member. Well worth it

From a member of some 12 years - always happy to run into the club find an unusual weapon for sale or friendly advice from the staff. Ask for Walt if its your first time - hes a hoot and very helpful.

Way to crowded. Staff acts very rudely and pretensious. Just not worth it will canceling tommorow.
