As you can can see by 98% of real reviews, we are the best comedy experience in the valley.If you dont know, we were featured on Bar Rescue on Spike TV. It was a fun experience, however, it was largely fraudulent. If youll notice the poor reviews here and on other review sites, for the most part, however few they are, are largely from viewers of the show who had a bit too much to drink and, in general, have difficulties deciphering between what they see on tv and real life. They watched a show. In general, losers by most definitions; not the kind of people youd want to be next to in a comedy club.We enjoy having fun with these marginals as you can see from our replies. We have been, for the last 5 years, and continue to be, the highest rated comedy club in the valley...even despite the efforts of these losers.We;re the best because we care about your experience, we care about comedy, and we care enough to keep marginals out.See the others, then see us; it doesnt take too long to understand the difference in quality of experience, top to bottom.If you every have a poor time in my club, come and talk to me; Im always available and Ill bet we find a common ground and move forward.I appreciate you choosing us, the valleys only locally owned, non-corporate comedy club.Howard Hughes II

I have been here three times in the past two months. This place is awesome. The service is fantastic, prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is excellent. The opening acts have knocked it out of the park every time and last time I was laughing so hard, I cried during the feature comic. I have had such a wonderful experience here. I really recommend this comedy club to everyone. The food is good and the drinks are awesome. They make a drink called the Marilyn martini and it tastes amazing.

Great venue. Staff was professional and personally greeted us as we were sat. I would highly suggest this place for any size outing/party casual or semi-formal. The facility is clean and drink service was frequent as expected. Everything is priced reasonable and on the night we attended, the local talent was much funnier than the headliner. All were very entertaining and we will be back. Also parking was not an issue...super short walk to the entrance.

This place is great! The shows are so much fun! The margaritas arent too bad either. I would recommend catching a show!

Had a great time. Music before the show was a little too loud for me, but Im not used to nightclub ambiance. Super friendly staff, good set up, comedians had me laughing the whole time. On top of that, the owner was a pretty chill dude. Love those glasses! He handed out some coupons youd be crazy to pass up on, and Ill definitely be back. Keep it funny!

The comedy was very good. Service was very good, even though thy were short handed according to the owner. Food and drink were average. We went on a weird night where a couple of the comedians were running late but the owner fessed up to it and didnt try to hide it or make any excuses.

Just reunited with the owner Howard after 15 yrs. and had a great night at his club. 2 Tickets and 4 drinks (one whisky and coke but the tender forgot the coke and ice. :) He earned the tip!) It all came to 51 bucks including the $5 in tip. I will return for some of the other venues. Two Thumbs up Howie !

Great place for date night. The host and guest comic were both hilarious. Great food next door, too.

The show was good. Howard was a bit slow warming up at the start but quickly brought laughter to the room (all the bad reviews does not make sense). I watched Caleb Synan and Troy Walker and they were both hilarious. This was my first time here and I am definitely coming back.

I have been here a few times now and have had an awesome experience every time. Howard is very funny and runs a tight ship. There was a couple rowdier crowds the other night and he shut them down real quick. Keep it up and you can have my money.

I enjoy the club very much, comedy great, the best place to spend a night watching comedy in the valley. Its a comedy club, not a night club, enjoy what you have. National touring headliners, great local talent, and an owner that is very funny. youl have a great night!!!

I frequent this place a regular basis. The owner always does the opening acting and he is incredible funny. Headliners are always different and have always made me laugh. Drinks are reasonable for Scottsdale. Crowed participation and acts interaction is always entertaining.Thanks for the laughs. Will see you soon.

In Scottsdale on work and our prospective partners took us here. Good drinks and entertaining, funny comedy; however, the waitress serving was a little rude. Maybe she was having a bad night, but we still had fun.

Went to the Friday night 7:30pm show and had a great time. We arrived at 7:15pm and were greeted by Mike Kennedy and some others out front. The doorman was polite and carded my son and his girlfriend, he was kind enough to let me slide. We were seated immediately and sat next to the AC thermostat in that section, its an area that we prefer as the restrooms are right there. My wife said the restrooms were clean and spotless, thanks Howard for seeing that they are kept up. Its the patrons that mess them up as they start out clean and stocked. Mike Kennedy was funny as always. The crowd was small and intimate and this meetup group took awhile to loosen up lol. Howard was on his A-Game and killed it. Looking forward to the bar rescue update and remodel that is planned. Erik Myers was the headline and entertaining... I can say that were all glad hes remained sober, as he has issues. The server Chris? Was all over drinks and table maintenance without being intrusive. Overall another successful outing at our favorite comedy club. If you havent checked it out youre missing out!

SUS just upgraded all their stuff like the stage, lobby bar and seating in the main room. I love this place. Hughes gets some great comedians in this place and Stand Up Live hasnt killed him yet, so thats also a plus. 10/10 score from me.

Such an amazing experience!!! Howard was absolutely a great host and extremely funny and the comic featured Willie Barcena was such a natural, I never felt any of his material was rehearsed but just as he was having an one sided conversation with you in which you could not stop laughing. Thank you for giving me one hell of a hilarious escape even if only for a few hours!! Samantha Whirley mother of Jacob Alvarado...may he rest in peace!!

Went to the Vince Morris show. The show started late, but we had a great time. Staff was friendly and the process was about right for being in snotsville.

Howard was on point tonight. Brody Stevens was manic tonight. Loved his free form comedy. Stand Up Scottsdale rocks!

We come down to the valley from Flagstaff to visit comedy clubs fairly regularly and somehow never hit StandUp Scottsdale till now....so glad we found it, so sorry it took so long. ..Had a great dinner at Papi Chulos, the comedy club hostess came by while we were eating and let us select our reserved seats. This little detail just makes the evening ... So much more pleasant than other clubs where you wait outside in the heat to be let in.Saw 4 great comics, including 2 young locals who were surprisingly funny... I love that, clubs should always be helping develop new talent. The crowd was fun and into the show... A really fun night!

Great shows, price is right and menu and drinks are good. certainly worth going as they have talented comedians

Had a great time....all comics were hilarious....havent laughed that much in a while.....laughter is good for the soul....we will definitely be back soon!!

Last night was a blast! I definitely recommend going to see Iliza Shlesinger. This was my second time coming to this club. I did not come to a comedy club for the food, but rather the laughs. I would recommend going in with that same mindset:). The opening comedians werent the best, but the headliner was well worth it!As for my night previous to this one.Well that one was good too. The service was great, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the laughs were fruitful.

Just went here over the weekend. Saw Felicia Michaels & Gene Pompa, I would not say they were the funniest pair I have ever seen, but it was fun. It started about 20 minutes late, and the owner ended up doing a couple of acts, he was funny in a strange way. Honestly for $15 it was well worth the money, and the venue is very intimate. I do think the drink prices are kinda high, but pretty much the norm for this type of thing. I would certainly go back.

I was completely disgusted by the rude jokes that were in no way funny. Berating peoples religion and making fun of those that have MS or cerebral palsy was just extremely upsetting. Not only that, but I was charged $18 for 4, 16ounce bottles of water...I dont drink soda, or alcohol, so it would have been nice to know that I was going to be charged that much for every single bottle of water...extremely expensive and a very weak performance!

I have always had a great time here. ALWAYS! Sure, there are up and coming comedians that dont kill it, or are working on new material, but thats half the fun of it. I have been here around 4 times, never left unhappy. Hopefully, one day I can do an act here...PS - Buckner Ashby III...well, your name says it all. If you are going to review a business, one that makes a living off of the reviews of real customers, perhaps you should lower your level of douche and actually go to a show. Saying you watched a TV program and that is your basis for a review of a business is shameful.

Intimate showroom, cozy feel with some great acts and good service.

Was refused tap water even though I ordered an appetizer and 2 drinks. I was only offered Voss at $5 each. It is unlawful to refuse someone tap water in the state of Arizona. Ill never go back.

The Good: The food at Papi Chulos was pretty tasty. Its also kind of nice that they can combine the meal and comedy show. Makes for a cool evening without driving too far. The choice of comics was also pretty goodThe Bad: Seating was crammed, and no, its not because youre so popular that you cant fit all the people trying to force their way in. Its more of a seating arrangement issue. The host, Howard I believe (?), was a bit lacklusterThe Ugly: Purchased tickets through groupon. Arrived early so decided to eat when realized Papi Chulos was in the same building. Waiter told us about the special of dinner and show. Told him I had purchased a groupon ticket who waved a woman to the table. Dont recall her name. She asked if I had a reservation. I said no, she then told me she couldnt take my ticket but she would give me the discounted price. Didnt want to argue so I went for it. Next day checked on the web page and on groupon but lo and behold, no indication of reservation needed. I called. Spoke to I think his name was Miguel, who told me that there are no reservations required with groupon. The woman was either mis-informed or just didnt want to take my groupon ticket. Either way, I was taken for the full price

Fun. Great new location with bar and restaurant attached. Would come back again.

Great show, funny comedians. Aside from that, random charges have appeared on my credit card from there.

Owner got up on stage during the middle of the show and started berating the audience. It got so bad that several people started leaving. He ruined the show for everyone. He was very arrogant and didnt care about the customers. He even said that if you wanted customer service you should go somewhere else.

Pretty good comedy just elbow to elbow room.

My husband and I have been several times and taken different generations of family and friends. We always have a great time no matter who headlines. Go to laugh and forget your real world problems for an evening.

I just read some of the reviews.... One in particular, Buckner Ashby, you are an idiot. You write a bad review based on a television show? You Suuuuuuck. Ive been there a few times and had a good experience every time.

Overall, if there are no drunk and inconsiderate people to deal with, then Stand Up Scottsdale is great. The staff is nice and the acts are top notch, but DO NOT bring children or easily offended people to the shows.
