Deb and Alston are a gem. They are widely respected and highly regarded in the Native American arts trade. Not only that, they go out of their way to continue to support various tribes and individuals out of their own pocket. We have purchased numerous pieces from them and are very grateful for their openness and knowledge that they so willingly share. Their integrity is second to none. One of the greatest institutions in the country for Native American art consults with them. Their only goal is to increase and enhance the appreciation of Native American art. I trust them hands-down. No matter what city we are in in the Southwest, they don’t hesitate to refer us to another dealer. They are friends with many dealers of Native American Art. It’s a high bar and a tightknit community. I love buying from them. I’m grateful for their dedication to the art and if you cross their path you should trust that what they’re telling you is the truth.

I recently bought a piece of Maricopa pottery from the website. As expected ,the pottery was a beautiful addition to my collection. Ive had other items shipped to my home and the packing is always done carefully. Its also a pleasure to visit Deb and Alston in their gallery. Would recommend a visit while in Scottsdale.

I would highly recommend this store for true authentic honest dealings in this over populated market of Native American wares and jewelry in Old Town Scottsdale. If I am truly looking for honest knowledgeable people I will always go to Old Territorial. I have worked with them for over 20 years with various Estate inventories and I am not looking for a sugar coated opinion or craft jewelry pieces. It ultimately does not matter what anyones opinion of value when trying to sell these unique pieces of history. It only matters if you have an actual buyer. The owners long understanding of this market is unmatched and current with todays market. The passion and historical knowledge they have devoted to this trade is like stepping back in time.I would highly recommend this company for quality pieces and more than honest dealings. The stories they can share about the history of each item is a treasure all its own.

We have known Deb and Alston Neal for many years and bought Indian art from them even longer. Many of the pieces in our home came from them. Whether it’s pottery, jewelry, Katsinas, weavings, or folk art, we’ve always been satisfied with our acquisitions. Alston and Deb are exactly what you want in sellers, whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned collector. They are experienced, honest, knowledgeable, reasonable and familiar with the artists. We have even consulted each other over the authenticity of pottery. I trust them completely. My wife and I spent the better part of two days with Deb and Alston in their Scottsdale gallery a few years ago, our first actual meeting, when they reinforced our opinions gained via many telephone and e-mail conversations. We only buy from a select few dealers in NM, AZ and CO whom we’ve come to trust and respect over the years. I’m happy to say that Deb and Alston Neal are among them.

I went to Scottsdale on vacation last week and wandered into this shop. They were very nice and helpful. I had just learned of katsina dolls while visiting the Heard museum (Sorry, I live in Georgia lol). The owners were very knowledgeable and I look forward to adding more dolls to my new collection.

One of the most trusted shops around. Been dealing with Old Territorial for about 20 years and trust their opinions and merchandise. Everyone in the Native American artifact world knows them and trusts them.

Just had a few pieces appraised at a different place in Scottsdale and decided to take them in to this place to get a second opinion (even though the appraisals were already high, Im just trying to find a price point to sell). They literally told me that my highest appraised item was plastic fake turquoise and that none of it was really worth anything... Even though the place down the street, that has been in business longer and is Native owned & operated(and has countless 5star ratings), just appraised each item at a couple thousand each. It has become apparent to me that most Native American Jewelry experts are mostly guessing. They couldnt even tell what kind of turquoise they might be, even though the other lady told me right away on all items and explained how she knew (even showing me examples of the different types in her shop that matched). When I asked the Territorial lady why she thought the turquoise was plastic her response was I know what plastic looks like. Well lady these stones have been heat tested and theyre real. BUYER BEWARE!!!
