This was my second time at Velocity VR. A group of friends and I come in on a 1/2 price special so we did two sessions. Very unique and fun experience. Highly recommend visiting and playing the games at Velocity. Great way to spend a few hours and step away from reality.

Great experience. period!!!! Located at Octane Raceway, you can combo go cart racing with VR. The experience is pretty wild and super addicting. My favorite game is singularity because it’s longer in game length, more challenging, and you move around more. Great for almost all ages after maybe 8-9 years old. You can never be too old for this! Grandpa would have a riot! Take the whole fam or a group of friends and go tare it up.

I enjoyed the game but my equipment didnt work very well (gun was crazy inaccurate and overly sensitive to motion) and although you can walk around the room in the video game, there isnt any really reason you need to? I stood in the same place for the majority of the game and my team did just fine. Pretty expensive for 30 minutes of fun, my brother and I paid about $100 for two 15 minute games that were identical in gameplay. Ive been to other VR rooms where its $30 for an hour and you can play as many different games that you want. Granted I didnt have to room to move around in at those other venues, but like I said earlier, at Velocity VR you dont need to. Youll spend most of your time standing in one spot and shooting creatures anyways. Id pass if I was you.

Mixed feelings about this. The concept is amazing, but execution is not great. There was pretty major lagging for about 90% of the playing time. A good amount of that lagging made the game virtually unplayable (no pun intended). The game had to be paused for everyone maybe 8-10 times. Multiple people had to have their pack replaced or reset. The lagging was so bad I walked right into the wall. Didnt hurt, but not cool. Most of the time, I was very cautious to move because I thought Id probably bump into someone since the lagging would make it seem like someone was far away, and suddenly the image would update, and theyd be right next to you. You would move the gun, but the image you saw wouldnt move until a few seconds later. I had to take the mask off multiple times which also really killed the experience. I was told that this night was particularly bad, and that it wasnt normally like that, and that they were likely going to have to shut down for the night, but we werent offered refunds. I think a partial refund was definitely justified. Based on the other reviews, I think that maybe that night was an exception. Im just pretty bumbed that it was bad the night that I went since I was so excited, and for the price, I expect there to be no major issues like that. I want to go back, but it seems like such a gamble at this point, that I dont think its worth it.

I brought my Dad to Velocity VR for fathers day! We all had a great time but I was a bit dissapointed with the instructions given beforehand. My parents are older and not the most tech savvy and I had to step in for the worker to assist them.Additionally, for Fathers Day they charged a premium of $60/person for 45 minutes. For 4 people it ended up being $240. Regular price is $40/person. Would you prefer to go to Disney Land or have a 45 minute VR experience?Definitely wouldve been a 5 star experience with better direction and a more reasonable price. An awesome time! But way too expensive.

Had an awesome experience working with Darin and Mikey to coordinate our teams quarterly fun event (~25 people). The service, food, and flexibility were great. Everyone loved the Zombie Survival VR and Octane go kart races. Will definitely keep in mind for future team events.

If youre into this stuff it was well done. Personally I would rather not but was asked to participate as part of team building. The reservation process was simple, checking in was seamless and the employees were friendly. I would recommend athletic clothes and sneakers as one member of our party lost a shoe during the session. It was awkward for her.

One of the very best things you can do with your teenage children. If youve never played a virtual reality game then you should drop what youre doing and immediately get there today. This is a great spot tons of fun excellent food and great service. Make sure you get your way there and be sure to call ahead because it can book up.

My son loves participating in the virtual reality games offered here. Slightly expensive for the amount of actual time in the VR simulation but not too bad. Been here several times and every time he has an enjoyable experience. Fun for teens and adults.

If youre new or novice to VR its probably gonna be great to you. I, however, have VR at home and its sub par to the experience I have at home. The gear isnt too heavy, but you feel it. The visual quality is ok to say the least, again, nothing compared to my at home setup. The thrill for me was the freedom to move around freely. The lagginess kinda kills the thrill though. Three Stars for the concept. Step up to Vive or Rift and lose the lag... Thatll make this a 5 star experience. I cant stress enough.. if you dont have access to a high end VR system, this is awesome!! If you have a Rift, Vive, or even windows mixed reality system.... Save your money!!! I wish Id saved mine. If it were half the price itd be worth it. But nearly $50 per 45 min session is a lot to ask of someone whos invested around $2k in VR equipment and a high end PC at home. Im

Edit: Updated from 3 to 5 stars due to the business response to the situation. I was contacted directly via email regarding this review, and without going into the personal details, I can say that their response to the situation was absolutely stellar. Im still not sure if its for *me* exactly, but with customer care like that, I feel very safe saying that you should give this place a shot. Absolutely uncanny, Ive never had a business in this city care that much about my business. It was encouraging enough that I may very well go back, even despite my somewhat less-than-ideal experience with fitting the headset on.-----Original Review:-----Ill open with a quick summary:Basically, the VR was a pretty fun experience and, I felt, worth the cost of admission. You should give it a shot. However, personally, its not something Im clawing at the door to repeat. Now on to the details:There were a few latency issues in the tracking, which could be expected in a setup with multiple players and something as computationally complex as a VR game. Regardless, it did make it hard to PLAY the game effectively, and at times was a little nausea-inducing.The BIGGEST problem for me, and probably a good part of why the experience wasnt one I want to repeat, was that the headsets are NOT made for people who have a large frame. Ive got a big head (I wear a size 7 3/4 hat) and Im 64 tall. The backpack/vest type setup that you wear on your chest fit me poorly, and the headset was PHENOMENALLY uncomfortable. The focus adjusters, somehow, just caused the headset to pinch the bridge of my nose, and it was literally impossible for me to adjust it in such a way that I could actually see what I was looking at; my nose pushed the focus back out of view, so it was like not wearing my glasses, except much worse. The pressure on my head and particularly the bridge of my nose left my face sore for two days after our 30 minute session. My smaller friends who I was with seemed to enjoy it well enough though, so take that into consideration.I adore the concept, and I hope VR tech can advance in such a way as to be more widely inclusive of people who are outside of the average, whether it be unusually tall, short, skinny, heavy, etc. I also hope that as our computing ability becomes more and more powerful for less and less cost, we can resolve some of the performance issues as well.In all, its worth a spin and I recommend you give it a try. Maybe youll have a more comfortable experience than I did. Despite all of my gripes, it WAS fun... just not fun enough for me, personally, to come back for seconds.

Great concept. Started off ok, a bit laggy. One of my friends needed two different backpack replacements (the computer), the lagg got progressively worse to the point of being unplayable. The COMS system (the communication with the host and other players) got so choppy we couldnt hear directions. The second half of the game was so laggy we couldnt play. As I walked around, the game would freeze and stutter and completely freeze up all together. I was trying to let them know but the only response I got was youre ok it will smooth out in a moment. It never did. In fact the gun I had lost tracking and dissappeared and I had to wait until it booted back up and recalibrated. Finally I took my headset off because it wasnt responding and I realized the next group was in the room with us all geared up waiting to play. The employees started ignoring our glaring issues with the performance of the game to rush us through for the next group. The headsets were very uncomfortable aswell. My backpack was getting really hot so I assumed the computers were overheating. And unfortunately our lost time wasnt returned to us. They did pause the game when changing out the faulty computers but the rest was unplayable anyway. The visuals/graphics were great at least. Not something I will repeat anytime soon.

We drove in from Tucson and prescott for birthday shenanigans and had a blast playing singularity in their vr room. One of my buddies wound up having car troubles and we stated this before we started. However upon asking about a refund or credit since you pay up front we were told we have to tell them in 48 hours ahead to cancel a spot. So rather than get a repeat customer via a credit issued I lost $45 for services not even rendered. Will seek out a different establishment going forward.
