While nice to have this property on the map as a Girl Scout destination and shop, the public shouldn’t enter with great expectations.Poor quality history presentation has few items to show, lacking color in display or description with some old uniforms and posters. Seems like a display stuck in the ‘70’sNotable lack in this first floor museum room of any appreciation for volunteer leaders growing the organization, innovative and courageous early scouts that went on to bigger leadership contributions, coverage of creative projects, growth of camp infrastructure and experiences, troop trips, etc that could give information and inspiration to visitors. No hands on activities. Please update to current possibilities. Is this housed somewhere else? If so, share a bit of the GS spirit here where it started. The small shop at the entrance has badges, t shirts, uniform items, etc.The overall feeling is GS is a stale relic of the past, an engine for cookie sales (and some badges).Hope this changes.Girls Deserve Better.

Just an old building with a plaque. Hard to get excited about this one. We have 3 Eagle Scouts so we definitely believe in the programs...but they could have done a much better job of showcasing this, if thats what they wanted to do.

An amazing little place to visit filled with a timeline history of Girl Scout memorabilia. Charming hostesses share beautifully illustrated stories that inform and educate. Do not miss this small and wonderful window into the world of Girl Scouting.

A must see in Savannah. The history of Juliette Gordon Lowe is unveiled through wonderful story telling and the program for visiting Girl Scouts is done through hands on activities.

Our girl scout troop enjoyed our visit to GS First Headquarters. They learned more history about Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of GSUSA and saw how Girl Scouts has evolved through the years. You will need a reservation to see the exhibits as there it is a guided tour, but I think the little gift shop is open to the public. Youll find GS cookies available for sale year round and lots of GS swag.

Photo spot. Unless you are a GS member and have a group lesson there, the most you can do is to take a picture outside the building and spend less than 10 minutes to look at displays inside the building.

After signing up and several attempts to get them assigned to a local Den/team nothing came of it for months. We attempted several time to reach out and got no response. I contested my membership fee charged to my credit card and they said the charge was valid because it was beyond their control. What a poor organization. Im signing up my daughter for BSA -Cub scouts.

Got back here in April of 2017 and they were open! This is a cant miss for any Girl Scout in town to see the birthplace of Girl Scouts. There is a really small store that carries all those items that always get lost or fall off of uniforms and a few extras. Beyond the store space is the original meeting room, with the exception of the history on the walls, it is a typical garage that Girl Scouts would meet in back 100 years ago, or last week. I will mention that a block up is what appears to be the first bar that a Girl Scout dad went to have a drink at while waiting for his daughter to get out of a Girl Scout Meeting, that place looked friendly as well but I didnt go in.Original review. They were closed on 11/5/2016 a day they were supposed to be open, at least they had a sign out unlike the birth house.
