The rose garden is so pretty and well maintained. What a gem! Such a variety of color and types of roses.People were great at social distancing too.

This place can be described by 2 words. Breathtakingly gorgeous.The hundreds of roses spread out surrounding a beautiful little fountain in the center. The smell is intoxicating, with each rose smelling slightly different than all the others. There are a ton of bumblebees minding their own business, but it is just amazing to walk around and relax.A great place to stop and smell the roses.

Beautiful with lots of space. It is especially perfect during the pandemic. But the place seems to be crowded on the weekend.

Very well kept. Street parking along the boundary wall only. The rose garden is on one side and open field on the other. They have rest room here also. Place can be busy, people tend to put down picnic spread all over the rose garden side. The fountain on the middle was running and clean. Lot of photographers during good light times.

Beautiful roses, even though its already fall here in San Jose. Quite a few people around, also the grassy was muddy and slippery from the recent rains. Good location for a photoshoot. Which quite a few people were there to do.

Beautiful different types of roses and well maintained place! This reminded me iconic place from banglore called lal bagh which is also famous for rose garden! You can enjoy lot of different types of roses here. Not too crowded place! Definitely worth visiting this place.

The Rose Garden is cared for year round, and most pleasant on a sunny afternoon. You can smell the roses, spread out your blanket on the lush grass, watch the children play around the fountain, and enjoy this spot of well tendedl beauty. A great place to unwind and feel good about life.

Either walk through with no agenda or pick up a map at an entrance...either way your eyes and nose will enjoy this stop! The map will show you the names of the roses, and the plants themselves are also staked with their information. I was able to take many great photos and I’m not a photographer!

Beautiful place to admire lots of roses, all colors that you can imagine.

The roses garden looks really well attended just by the look of the roses and the entire garden. The best time to go there is early in the morning especially during this pandemic. I was the only one there. The rest of the people are walking outside and around the perimeter of the park. The public restroom is so clean probably because it was still early.

Loved being here! Took a long walk looking at all the roses and found a few favorites. Love the floribunda! Easy to find and easy to get parking.

More of a park than a rose garden. The roses that are there are gorgeous, but theyre all shoved into a corner of the park which was absolutely packed with people sitting and clogging up the walkways with their picnic blankets and even entire tables with streaming gear. Too many people to feel comfortable even in an outdoor space. Ill be waiting to return until the pandemic is over.

This is the best gem of San Jose. The Rose Garden is open door for everyone to enjoy without a fee.You would have to come here during its best peak season from April - July. There are countless of unique roses carefully planted and care for here.The roses fragrance are so intoxicating and beautiful as well. You have to come here to appreciate the true beauty of these roses.

The Rose garden is really beautiful right now everything is in full bloom. Its a really nice place to go sit and have a picnic or even take out your canvas and do a little painting. There were people all over on their blankets just relaxing socially distanced away from others.

Beautiful park to walk around and relax. Plenty of space for a picnic, or just to walk around. It takes about 10 minutes to explore everything, but most people stay longer to enjoy the roses. Great place to take pictures for special occasions, but commercial photography is not allowed without prior permission. Highly recommend stopping by if you get a chance! A nice summer day here with a cool breeze will put you at ease and help you forget about all your worries. Do note though that there is no public parking close by, and you will likely have to parallel park on a street next to the garden. Street parking is free.

Best review rating I can possibly give it. The place is very relaxing, quaint, and easy to access to. Vista is beautiful for casual meet, a romantic date, or even a photo shoot which msnybpeodplr were doing.Beautiful and well maintained variety of roses and areas where it is big enough for every guest. I took many pictures but overall it needs to be experienced in person for highest possible satisfaction.Come around the sunset time to get the full spectrum of perspective of beauty.

A beautiful garden in a wonderful neighborhood hidden in San Jose. Bring book, frisbee, snacks and stay for a few hours. Hundreds of roses in bloom (certain times of the year) with a pretty fountain, redwood trees and shady lawn areas. Gets crowded at times due to popularity.

A good place to hangout with friends and family, a lot of open space and grass for picnic, may want to bring picnic blanket and umbrella, could get pretty sunny. Rose collection is okay but considering that this place is free- no complaints. A lot of people were taking graduation photos and professional photos. No pets allowed, free parking on the road.

This is a really gorgeous rose garden in a beautiful neighborhood. There are tall redwood trees for shade, and there are rows and rows of gorgeous roses. There is also a large water fountain with benches surrounding it that you can sit at. We also saw people sitting on parts of the lawn enjoying a picnic. The garden is great for photos, especially with family. Sunset was a gorgeous time. Its a gorgeous place for a stroll. There is street parking. Id love to visit again.

Beautiful Garden!! We were amazed to see such a gorgeous rose garden in silicon valley maintained by the municipal corporation of San Jose. Established in 1937, you can find around 4000 rose shrubs consisting of 189 varieties of roses. Very peaceful for an evening walk or to just lay down in the grass and enjoy the beauty. When we were here during last weekend, we saw many photo enthusiasts clicking pictures. Also, great location for graduation shoots, wedding shoots. There is also a park adjacent to the rose garden with picnic benches. Lots of street parking which can be easily found. Rare to find a rose garden which has free admission. Must visit!! We would love to visit again and again and may be specially during Spring.

Absolutely beautiful! So many roses. So well tended. I gladly pulled up a piece of cool grass in the shade and cracked open a book while my wife strolled the garden taking pictures. It was a sorely needed break during a busy vacation.

Things like this definitely make a city feel special! Who in a million years would’ve thought such a gem lies at the heart of Silicon Valley? So beautiful and each color makes your heart so happy! It was also adorable seeing a lot of prom dates come here for photos. Next time will bring a blanket just to sit in the shade and enjoy seeing families, couples, and neighbors enjoying the environment.

Gorgeous Rose Garden, the addition of the hybrid Francis Meilland was amazing, the fragrance it gives is mesmerizing. I felt like a bee because I kept jumping from flower to flower. The Francis Meilland would make for a great perfume.

It is a great place to unwind especially during its peak season. This place is open for everyone. Ive seen many people here in a picnic, walking their dogs and just simply taking a walk. The roses are strikingly beautiful, these photos are just a glimpse of its true beauty. Its very relaxing coming here and I cant wait to visit this place again when this pandemic is over.

Lovely place. The flowers start blooming around late April and its a sight to behold after that. The place is not too big. Its just the right sized and it has a lot of places to sit and relax. There is also a beautiful fountain in the middle and is very good for pics or a photoshoot. The fragrance there is also lovely. Parking is on the road however.

Went there in the month of January most of the flowers has withered, missed the true beauty of this place. All and all a nice pleasant and quite place to spend some time. The center fountain is good to watch.

An oasis of calm. Most roses were still in bloom, even this late in August. Many families with children were there yet it was not noisy and did not feel crowded.

A very unique & beautiful park in the rose Garden neighborhood (duh). It’s earned the Best Rose Garden in America! It’s got serene surroundings, quiet, except for the occasional kids playing. There are mature sequoia trees at each corner of the park and some elevated in the center of the grounds.The water fountain looks pretty cool. Most people flock to it first to take selfies.One half of the park is dedicated to rows of roses and the other half a grass field and picnic areas.Most days you’ll find dog owners out for a walk with their pet in the surrounding fence near the sidewalk, and couples laying about on blankets under shades of trees within. Sorry, no dogs allowed inside park.It’s well-maintained. It has restroom facilities. Safe neighborhood- never crowded.I think it would be great if the city could build a glass conservatory to house some delicate rose species. It needs a classical building on the grounds and would put it on par with San Francisco parks.Worth a visit!

Beautiful experience! So many different colors of roses! Well manicured and we could have spent hours there if it wasn’t getting dark! The area is gorgeous and many people were there taking wedding and engagement photos or just for fun! I must see if you are in the area!

We were here earlier this year and it was beautiful. Now in the winter, December 12/12/18 still a lot of blooms peaceful and lovely places to come and visit. In about two weeks they will prune all the rose bushes so it can grow in the spring. I hope to come back near mothers day to see the best blooms.

A very lovely and peaceful haven of countless Roses.

Beautiful park. My toddler son loved the roses, fountain, and the small hill. There is even a large grassy area to play. There was quite a bit of small pieces of trash everywhere and the restrooms were closed, probably due to covid, but overall a beautiful place to spend an hour.

I definitely reccomend if your into nature and Roses its magnificantly maintained its a very gorgeous place

I love this place! So many flagrant roses and its 100 percent free. I could spend all day here. Plenty of street parking and roses as far as the eye can see. Please just dont bring pets as there are several signs saying no pets. This makes sense as animals may damage the rose garden.

I love this spot to go for some quiet time. Wandering around through the maze of flowers is really therapeutic. However the weekends can get crazy, as people are here for graduation, prom, wedding etc photos. I would suggest an afternoon or morning on the weekdays to fully enjoy it.

Came here during spring time and the garden is in full bloom and absolutely stunning. Strolling through and smelling the rich floral air was refreshing. A definite must visit if your looking for some relaxation and downtime.

Little gem of a park near downtown San Jose.Great rose varieties although we visited towards the end of season.Good for families with young children for a picnic, some lovely shady spots. No dogs allowed.A shame the water feature in the centre is no longer a paddling pool for little ones too cool off.Disabled access and manoeuvre good. Seems to be plenty of parking available on surrounding side streets.
