Great views, but the buffet is like that of a cheap hotel chain.

The view alone is worth 5 stars! The great service, friendly staff, quality food and drink, as well as the free parking did not hurt the experience one bit.Good place for a party or a date. When it comes to it as a live music venue - the large amount of windows and hardwood floors make it a bit too live for that job. But for anything else - a sweet place with a sweet view.

The place is a joke. There were about to return the property back to the city before Uncle Larry paid the $200k to save them. They will not last 10 years without Larry unless they find and embrace there true market. The membership are great people, the leadership has been stagnant and Larry centric. The management team is second to none, best place to have a party in the City. Best view of any dining room in the world.

I Skippered a beautiful Stevens 43 named Fireball with a beautiful group brought together by the vessels owner, Jonathan Lane, a cool young mover/shaker. Fireball was guest berthed at the Golden Gate Yacht Club guest dock to facilitate boarding/embarking for a 4 hour clockwise revolution on the multiple personalities of San Francisco Bay. Super boat at a hospitable snug harbor.

Very beautiful venue! Isolated alone on the point. Didnt eat and only had a couple glasses of wine at a celebration of life event which was probably too many people for the space as it was very crowded and warm.

Amazing views, multiple patios, good food, quite slow service, modern marine decor..This venue is located past other similar boating options, creating a much less crowded environment. We waited a very long time for our food and drinks, even though we were 1 of 2 parties in the place. Speed up the service and I will return!

Once in a while the Golden Gate Yacht Club opens its doors to us for our dance parties and mixers. We always have a great time. I like coming early so I can see the yachts sailing by or coming in to dock. The views around the bay from this location are breathtaking! When the party is over, many people hang around for a while; they dont want to leave this beautiful place. -- Phil Seyer

More cruisers should know about this fantastic little gem! The 360 degree view from the clubhouse includes unobstructed views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Prison, the city, and the marina district. The dome from the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts is also visible.GGYC is located just inside the Golden Gate Bridge (3/4 mile?) and is easily accessible - even in the dark. The gated docks are new concrete and the dock cleats are strong and secure. Free electric, water, wifi, and a shower facility are included. The bar and restaurant areas are new and beautifully decorated. Restrooms inside the club (restaurant/bar) are spotless. We enjoyed a free nights stay thanks to GGYCs reciprocity and generosity. They allow a continuous stay of three nights, providing room is available. We made the reservation in advance. With an overnight charge of only $25, you cant go wrong staying here. The staff and members are exceptionally nice. Bob Mulhern (General Manager) and Choloe (Guest Relations) were both very welcoming and gracious. The happy bartender pours a great drink and was very extremely helpful as well. There are cocktail hour specials and free hors doeuvres on the weekend. Norbert Bajurin (Commodore) invited us to stay an extra day so we could enjoy the Sunday brunch - which was only $15 and ridiculously delicious. Thanks, Norbert!Thank you all very much for your hospitality. If we are ever cruising by San Francisco again, well stop by and say hello! And well be sure to let our other cruising friends know about your wonderful yacht club!SV ShamelessSauvie Island Yacht ClubPortland, Oregon
