Awesome experience. Inline rentals are $3 extra. I recommend coming on a non-weekend night. Otherwise it’s a little crowded.

Probably the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Great for beginners like me, even though the rink can get a little crowded. The light up shoes are a great touch. My only recommendation would be to crank up the music, its not loud enough in there.

Its fun for a few hours, but you quickly sense how small the venue is when the crowd picks up. Great vibe, but its a bit too crowded for my taste.

The floor is in terrible shape to skate on. The place is packed and people are constantly falling; I ended up falling over someone that fell in front of me - couldnt avoid them. Its a novel experience and if youre someone that enjoys a good story or adventure I say you should go here at least once.

I had fun for the first fifteen minutes or so, but as the rink was packed so full of people that it was impossible to move faster than a moderate walking pace, the novelty quickly wore off. The staff werent rude, but they werent friendly either. Overall, definitely not worth the $20 (cash only) for admission, inline skate rentals, and coat check.

Too small to enjoy skating. The vibe is cool and the place is nice. The staff isn’t super nice or anything but they are efficient. This place just isn’t worth the money. It’s also cash only$15/person or $18 for roller blades

Had a great experience at the Church of 8 Wheels during a Saturday lesson. We were the only students present (this is apparently not the norm) so we got lots of 1:1 coaching from the instructors, who were also both super patient with my 7 year old. Got back out on skates for the first time in years and had a lot of fun!

This is a pretty small roller rink, but its the only one in SF. The building is an old church which lends it a really weird but cool vibe. The music thats played is pretty much the same every time, but the mood is fun. The staff arent necessarily nice, but they are courteous and efficient. I like the lights there

Ma
Review №12

Great if you are a pro and almost Olympics status. Otherwise fear for your life. You will either fall or come very very close to falling many times. Too many people squeezed into too small a circle. BUT the music is great. Everyones stuff strewn around on the old church benches on the periphery. I love the idea though.

Went here for a party, and it was not bad. Its an old school roller rink and I enjoyed myself. The only issue I had is that they overcharge for everything: skates, lockers, food, etc. Parking lot is small so good luck trying to get in/out during the weekend.

Review №17

We went there with girls to celebrate birthday. None of our party were skating for a while or at all. So it was really fun for us. But skates and floor are worn out, space is really small, the size of basketball court. Music was fun, most of the visitors were newbies like us. So everyone was friendly and it is nice place to spend your date night or girls night out. Parking is tough around, also be aware they accept only cash.

Came here with my sister on my second trip to San Francisco. A short walk from my sisters apartment. Very quick and easy to pay for and rent skates. Skates were in great condition and I was able to start skating within minutes of getting there. The floor is a little small for how many people were there, but there isnt anything they can do about it. Music was great and there was even a time when the skating stopped and everyone did the cupid shuffle on skates. Now that was an experience! Direction changed a few times to make sure one leg didnt get too tired. Free water was also available to get a quick drink. Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to have some fun on a late night.

Fun venue with great music and festive lights, but no wall/rail to assist beginners or provide separation of the rink from the rest of the room. It was very crowded and people kept skating at high speeds outside the designated rink area and into the people resting on the perimeter. $10 entrance fee, $5 skate rental, and extra $3 for blade rentals. They also sell socks for $2.

This place is amazing! Its actually in a converted church. For those old enough to remember roller skating rinks this brings back the nostalgia of those times. The DJ spins great tunes from the days of roller skating. The check in process was a bit tedious but a small hiccup in a great night. There were people of all ages. A great activity to do on a Friday or Saturday night.

This is a fun unique place to go with friends but there are a couple huge drawbacks :- they are cash only- they dont allow alcohol- you cant bring outside food or drinks- bad skatersI am an okay skater but have you ever skated next to someone that really cant. When they go down- they are taking anyone next to them down with them. :/

If youre beginning to intermediate, dont bother. There was this chick with a furry beanie and light whip shoulder checking people and whipping them. I thought it would be on some PLUR type of vibe. Left after 15 minutes. But hey, if you can skate this is the party for you!

I just got back into roller skating after a 30 year hiatus. I was eager to try the rink! And I wasn’t disappointed! I went early on a Friday evening, arriving not long after they opened. The crowd was thin at first but soon picked up. By the time I left, a couple hours later, the place was jamming! Great tunes by a live DJ, terrific lighting, good floors for skating, and a nice friendly crowd. No children allowed in the evening (a huge relief) so I was surrounded by adults of all ages and all skill levels. Beginners are welcome and encouraged! Great date spot!

The owner is super nice, and so are the rental skates however there needs to be a massive plague sweeping the streets of SF before I ever frequent this establishment again. Way too many people who don’t understand the concept of: slow skaters move inside, fast go outside.

I was looking forward to this joint. Showed up and it was an immediate buzz kill by the rude staff. The acoustics of the spot did not help the music selection. The dj wasn’t even in his booth and it just seemed like his was playing from a crappy pandora station. Lastly the place is so so small and is actually pretty dangerous. The best part about was the actual people that were there. Fun and eccentric crowd.

Scavenge the thrift stores to find your best roller girl or guy outfit and join the faithful in their sequins and hotpants Friday and Saturday nights for the most fun you can have in the city on 8 wheels. While the crowd is a mix of everything from barely-balancing first-time skaters to real life pros (theres some serious talent whirling and twirling around), everyone has giant smiles on their faces and its the most respectful crowd this side of Canada. There are separate all ages and adult sessions so check the website for times. If you cant find your roller skates in the attic, there are plenty available to rent. Only water is available for purchase so fill up on food and liquids of your choice before you go shake your groove thing!

Great space and the music was bumping. Such a fan!Caveat is that its not the best place for beginners since there arent low walls or handrails to steady yourself, so prepare for some tumbles. It was my first time, and I was fine, albeit sore for a week on my wrists.$10 for admission and another $5 for rentals.Tip: Come early to avoid the crowds and to have some room around the edges to rest your limbs.

We had a great time here. Only thing that might be better is if they had more roller blades. They ran out of my size so I was stuck with the old school skates which I felt a bit awkward on but that wasnt enough to ruin the experience completely. Rollerskate disco? Middle of town? In an old church? This us soo San Francisco. We liked to do our circles. This was really fun. Could not skate before but we were able to rent a pair of old school shoes (not the inline skates...). Was quite easy. If you are a beginner. Go early. The later, the more ppl and the harder it gets to navigate. Once you got how it works, its quite fun. Especially because many dress up. Wonder how this looks on Halloween.
