Love the salon theme. Quick bartenders and super fun atmosphere. It just fills up really quickly and gets mad packed. Great for a one-and-done type deal but I wouldnt stay for longer than a drink or two.

I was charged twice on my debit card. No one has answered the phone. The mailbox is full so I cannot leave a message. I have sent messages online to both my bank and The Beauty Bar. I will update this review if I hear back from the bar or not.

Pickpocket central!! If you have had your phone stolen at Beauty Bar, especially in the last few weeks, FILE AN SF POLICE REPORT! They are actively building a case / reviewing footage of these thefts.Beauty Bar enables thieves and needs to make an effort to watch who they let in their bar, or at least warn patrons that their valuables are not safe here. Its a fun place, but if Im gonna get robbed Id rather not pay a $5 cover to do so.

A bar is a bar is a bar... they serve the same drinks, kick out the same well-soaked patrons, and then pointing out how you dont have to go home, but you cant stay here at 2am every night.But Beauty Bar has something special about it. There is a great atmosphere about it, the bartenders and patrons share a connection which otherwise doesnt exist in the more assembly line saloons in the City. The shows they get on certain nights have the extra kick of starving musicians who want to be known for their more pure, unadulterated love of their music. Its a bar which, dare I say it, is quite... beautiful?Basically if you want a chill bar with even tempo folk, a place where you can kick back and enjoy the company of your friends which you brought with you, then this is the place to go.

STOLEN PHONES AND WALLETS!Like all the other reviews, several phones and wallets were pick-pocketed throughout the night. Staff isnt very helpful in asking around or creating a safer environment.Be aware of your belongings.

I have a special place in my heart for this place Ive been going there since the days of the Arrow Bar Aaron and Spencer are good people the bar is always jumping. Cellus and Brandon are awesome Djays that play the music that keeps the ladies dancing. If you find yourself in the Mission looking for some action I recommend you stop by.

Cool place, pretty small. Drink prices are not too bad. From Texas so having to pay a cover for a bar was weird. Music was decent and from recent releases.

AVOID - YOU WILL GET YOUR THINGS STOLEN, especially if you are a woman. Check the yelp reviews on this place - Its been a problem for years and management nor employees do anything to mitigate the problem. They have created a known haven for pickpocketers. Last night EIGHT phones and wallets were stolen with no offer to call the cops and general apathy. It is really a shame that this place is still in business.

The venue is one long hallway with a long bar & two bathrooms. Definitely a place youd want to dance off all the liquor on a Friday or Saturday.

Friend had wallet stolen and another friend almost had phone stolen. Same night. This is a cash only place and it seems like some of the thiefs wait by the ATM and target guests who withdraw cash. Would be great if the bar started accepting credit cards to minimize the risks.

The DJ usually keeps the party going. The place gets a bit packed. Cant fully dance here, but you can move your body a bit. Like it better when theres no cover

I usually only go for happy hour. On Wednesdays they have ladies that DJ 60s soul music. Many hot babes and strong drinks.

Certainly had fun dancing with my friends here the other night. Good music.. Bar had a ridiculous minimum fee and when I got my card back it looked as it it was dropped in a puddle of wet trash. Never had to wash a credit card before...

Funky interior but good place. the happy hour was a great deal- I think it was $3 well drinks?! The night we were there the DJ also had some amazing 70s and 80s jams going! There were only a handful of people there but my friends and I danced up a storm.

This place is great for a low key dancing night. No cover, plentiful drinks and usually a decent crowd. Pretty tiny overall but I’ve never had a bad time here.

Well, its free to get in. Theres that. The music is often a weird mix up of things that dont go together but can still be fun if youre in the right mood. Theres one big fan that everyone wants to be next to cause it gets really hot on the small dance floor space in the back. Oh, and the bathroom is oh so gross.In fairness to them, its no doubt meant more as a bar than a dance club but it does try to do both.

Its live on a thursdayyyyy lol the drinks could be stronger but like any bar u tip well and they get stronger.......its my birthday

Unique vintage bar, not to be missed

The last two times that I have been at beauty bar there have been hyper aggressive people. Im not sure if its the small dance floor or if its the people who frequent this establishment, but my friends no longer feel safe coming here. This is sad because the staff and the DJ/music are truly fantastic. I just cant risk the safety of my friends any longer.

Go at your own risk, there’s a big problem with people getting wallets stolen here. And you have to pay a cover.

Another one of my go to places in the mission.There is usually a great mix of people here and I always have fun.The drinks are strong and its a pretty good place to meet up with a larger group of friends if its early.If its late in the night forget about seeing much or finding anyone cause it gets pretty crowded.There is a small dance floor and the music is pretty good.Its another one of those slightly dirty and dark places that I have had a lot of fun at. This is not the place to go if youre in to $13 cocktails like different parts of the Mission offer.

On a night out in the Mission, I would have expected to see many hipsters. However, this bar has a great mix of people! The bar doesnt really offer much dancefloor space but its great place to stop by at the end of your night.

The music was a bit inconsistent and the drinks were a little off. Prices of the drinks were good and when the DJ was on point the music was awesome. When he decided to play disco, it made everyone freeze. I would still go again though to see if was maybe an off day

This is one of my favorite bars in SF. The womens restroom is usually broken and it gets hotter than Hades, but you generally have enough space to dance and you are going to want to because the music is amazing. 90s to Early-2000s hip-hop/pop/rap, it doesnt get much better.Last piece of advice, hold onto your smartphone because it will likely get stolen.

I came here on a Friday night with a group of girls and we had a BLAST!The music started as retro 60s and some 70s classics but after 11 pm they turned it over to top 40 hits from the last decade! The vibe was mellow and we got there a little early...about 930 pm. They had a special where you could get your nails painted and a top shelf drink for about $15. I thought that was a pretty sweet deal!The drinks were okay, not too strong. Getting a drink later in the night proved to be a nightmare! Its not a big space but there is a lot of fun to be had here!

Last time I was there someone misted the dance floor with pepper spray. Everyone started coughing and writhing and the place emptied out in a minute flat. Dont bother, but if you do, bring riot gear.

I love coming here on the weekends because they always play fun music. There is usually a cover, though, but only $5.

I went her for my cousins birthday and had a blast. i am girly girl so i appreciate the salon 1950s decoration. i also loved the 90s classic mix, took me back to my golden years. they have great drinks and the crowd is chill not too dressy. i would recommand going here if your in the mission.

Not a hug fan - The door man and the bartenders are all friendly, and the crowd is pretty normal, but it just wasnt that great. This is a bar that tries to cram a nightclub inside of it. The place is just way too small to successfully do this...

Nice place to stop by for drinks, but probably wouldnt end my night here. Typical dive-y Mission bar. I do like that they make margaritas with fresh muddled limes, and they have good specials.

Take some pictures under the vintage salon dryer or get your nails painted while you drink! Beauty Bar also has great djs and dancing. Have dinner at ChaChaCha down the road and get a drink after at this funky place.

I came here on a Thursday, and I was quite disappointed. The place smells terrible, the music is mediocre, and the crow was not very interesting.The coolest part is that its right in front of Taquería Cancun, so you can compensate with an amazing burrito.

This place was rammed, full of horrible people, the loos looked like the set of Hostel, and the interior felt like Twin Peaks (the TV show, not the fashionable hill district of our fine city). My two friends felt overwhelmed with the attention (they were women). Avoid.

It gets crazy packed, but I always have a good time when I go here. Something about this place just brings the fun.
