ZAP is a fantastic place in San Francisco to handle your post production needs. Their DCPs, BluRays and DVDs are so well made and the quality control is excellent. They also have a great screening room for doing test screenings and cast/crew screenings. ZAP is one of the few places left where you get personalized service from people who really care about filmmakers. They’re the best!

Kris Samuelson and I first went to ZAP in 2011 to online a doc we shot in Tokyo. Weve brought other projects to them since and are about to online our latest film there and wouldnt consider anywhere else. They have always handled everything weve brought through the door: basic online, grading, help with text/titles, conversions of all kinds (e.g. random archival material), telecine of 16mm, and output of all kinds, like Blu-ray and DCPs. Aside from a consistent high level of quality, Kim and his colleagues are flexible and will do whatever is needed to bring the quality to the finish line. They also have a superb screening room weve used to check material and screen cuts for feedback. They do it all, do it well, and are straightforward and honest. You cant do better.
