Beautifull hidden place in San Francisco. Best place in the Bay Area to find art books.

Brought a box of beautiful coffee table art books, from Georgia OKeefe to Monet, all in spectacular condition. The woman running the store immediately started saying No no no as I asked who to talk to about the books. She said they werent the artists she wanted w /o looking. I asked who she wanted? She said I dont know. I asked if she might look at them? She said no, theyre not right. I asked how do you know? She said theyre not the artists were looking for! Getting more and more upset, so I carried the books away. Shaking my head.

This gallery has a hidden truth. Upstairs is a completely different world of art with studios, more art, and a fascinating tour of how they create their work. It was like we were completely removed from the new SOMA neighborhood and brought back to a world of art that existed in the old San Francisco. Huge tools and kilns used for making different medias were looming everywhere, but the quiet workings and beams of penetrating sunlight made the space seem ethereal.
