Spectacular view of the Bay. The USS Midway floating museum is docked just to the right. Across the bay, you can see various Navy ships undergoing repairs. Two aircraft carriers on the day I was there. Just beyond is a memorial to USO shows and Bob Hope in particular. Some audio loops play automatically. At first, it seems odd but Hopes voice brings back memories of these shows during the Vietnam War.

Memories brought about by this wonderful statue abound and have a different meaning to everyone. This celebratory still was created as a way to commemorate the everlasting joy unleashed by the sailors and soldiers as they came home from the front.

There are some great jogging/walking paths I have been exploring for years and it never gets old or boring. I am a HUGE fan of The Fish Market restaurant and have been going there for 10 years. There is usually ample parking and a close scenic walk to Seaport Village with lots of beautiful Marina photo ops, gift shops, and occasional live music;-)

V-J Day in Times Square (also V-Day and The Kiss) is a photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt that portrays a U.S. Navy sailor grabbing and kissing a stranger—a woman in a white dress—on Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day) in New York Citys Times Square on August 14, 1945.

A shlocky, overblown version of Alfred Eisenstaedts historic photograph, it detracts from the somber Taffy 3 memorial and the overall mood at the park.

Undeniable one of the most well known symbolism of one of the most important allied victories in WW2. A must see for all and a must know for kids.

He asked me to take a photo here, I refused. I thought I would take a photo here only if you were in the same photo with me and we posed the same way as the statue.
