First off I would like to say me and my fiance were in San Antonio for vacation and we wanted to go somewhere nice and hip for new years. We went for the New Years party and we had a blast! We had dinner and they had a live band taking requests to sing any song and they were amazing! Our server was extremely good anytime he noticed that our drink was getting low he would ask us if we were ready for another drink. Everyone there was extremely nice and the atmosphere was definitely amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Can I give 6 stars?? Wow this place awesome the band is great. Wonderful mix of songs. They even played Alice In Chains and Metallica for me!! Hell yeah.The bar has great strong drinks.The staff is attentive as prompt. Definitely recommend to give them a try

Came out on a Friday night. Great band performing live music. Drink prices are downtown prices. About seven bucks for jack D. Clean environment. Good setting. Not strict on dress code despite a nice establishment.

Great atmosphere and drinks!

My boyfriend and I were visiting San Antonio for the first time. We were looking for another club we googled but couldn’t find it. While driving we saw this club and spoke to the doorman Trent who told us we should come inside and he was definitely right! The drinks are fairly priced and made well. The bartenders are great, the DJ plays diverse music, everyone who works there is amazing (especially Trent) This was such an amazing night we came 2 nights in a row! Plus the second night Trent remembered us and came to say hi. We will definitely be back next time we’re in San Antonio

This is actually a pretty decent spot. It gets really packed on fridays. Lots of military come here which can be good or bad depending on your fancy. Its a bar functioning as a club so space is limited in here but there are small tables everywhere. Check it out for yourself

Really enjoyed Jay Bleu live at Merkaba! Atmosphere is fun and laid back. Great live music!

We won a party but the invitation stated there was food. In the past the Howl At The Moon parties included food. Merkaba is a sister bar to Howl At The Moon they should have stated they do not offer the same as Howl At The Moon party packages. I give it two stars because the drinks were good. I would be careful with the parties as well because we did not get to choose between the two bars.

This is trendy bar with good music. Its a mixed crowd and a whole lot of fun. This is down in the Riverwalk area and if youre looking for some fun music and drinks I recommend going here.

Me and my friends came over to San Antonio from Dallas and Missouri for Thanksgiving and we decided to visit the city and check out the parade,while our kids and wives waited for it to start,the dads decided to check the bar accross the street after a good recommendation from a local. Merkaba has a good vibe and good drinks,the bartender miss Kaylee was very nice and helpful,the only issue we had was the lady checking our driver licenses,very aggressive in her way to address and speak to us upon our arrival as if we came to rob the place. As my friend was searching in his wallet for his id,he ask her to be a little patient,she literally told she didnt care and that he had to hurry. She made us fell as if we were not welcome in that establishment. As african americans its common to face that kind of attitude,we consumed our beer and mentioned the incident to the bartender Kaylee who understood and apologized for the incident.

They did not even know how to make jack and coke instead got coke and jack hahah

Came here this past weekend with my girlfriend and her sister. Everyone was super friendly and drinks were awesome and the DJ was on point!! If I am ever in town again, Ill definitely be visiting again. XOXO from Houston, TX.

Great way to enjoy dueling piano music in a lower key environment

My 3 sisters and I had a blast at this bar last Saturday night. The bartenders were friendly and, Chris, the guy at the door especially had a great personality. He engaged nicely with all of us, patrons. The live band played awesome music.

Me and about 10 of my friends won a free VIP party. WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME . DJ PLAY A GREAT FREAKING MIX. Drink options were okay for 3.00. I wish the bartenders could have been a little more creative. But it was fun. Nathan was the manager that helped us all night . He made sure we were comfortable

The specialty cocktails tasted amazing and even the little touches to the menu made it feel so personal. Service is amazing and the food was delicious! I had an amazing time sitting on the outdoor patio with family, listening to music, drinking, eating and taking in the beauty of the river walk! Itll be a decision you wont regret!!

Pricey, but you gotta love the dueling pianos! Cover charge as well as pricey drinks. Very little room upstairs where the fun is, and they are strict about you not standing in the walk areas! Overall not too great, Ill try a different place if I ever make it back to San Antonio.

Do NOT come here if you are Hispanic! The staff is RACIST! The bouncer Named Emmet didnt let us in for no reason at all! We were all good upsatirs but the music was too loud so we decided to go down stairs where the DJ was playing. Emmet let a white couple in that was also coming from upstairs. As soon as we got to the door he stopped us from going in and said that he got a radio call saying we couldnt get in. This was our first time visiting San Antonio and he ruined our night! Mad that I spent money in this RACIST BAR.

If I could I would give this place a 0 a negative zero there’s was a African American bouncer name (Emmet) he said we couldn’t go in because of no reason he said they radio him we couldn’t go in because himself didn’t know the reason. Which is stupid because we were in the VIP top floor. We were hanging out out in the patio minding our business drinking spending money in this racist club. Never again would I come to this place or even recommended it.

So while in San Antonio on vacation, a few locals recommended Howl at the moon & Merkaba. We had a great time upstairs but when we went downstairs to Merkaba, our experience turned HORRIBLE!!!! It was myself, stepdad, & husband. I didnt drink but they each had 2 beers at Howl at the moon. When we tried to walk in the door at Merkaba, we were told we couldnt come in because we were cut off. I thought he was joking but NOPE! Head of security JJ told the staff not to let us in because my stepdad was drunk. WHAT???!!! He said that he was over served and we couldnt come in. My stepdad didnt give anyone a reason to think that at all! We werent loud or acting crazy. I wish I had read the reviews first because this has happened to other people. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go somewhere else, anywhere but here!!!!!!!

Had fun. Enjoyed the music. Ended up getting kicked out for no reason given to me. I was completely fine and sober. Didnt throw up or start any fights. They simply told me that I had to leave. I have no idea if a review will help, but just no that I will no longer be attending your place. If it wasnt for getting kicked out I would of said, hey fantastic place. Good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Nope now I can just say that the entire place is trash and the staff treated me as such for no reason. Poor representation of what a MERKABA should be like. Drunvalo would be ashamed. If I had been given a reason other than, because we said so then maybe youd get 2 stars, but no. To hell with your venue. I hope it burns.

Loved this lounge. Music was really good. Palomas were really good but I didnt like 2 other drinks we had. Id definitely go back for happy hour palomas!

We had a blast here it used to be a martini bar named Swig, it has since grown into a little bit livelier lounge setting. good music dancing solid cocktails and right downstairs for more entertainment and walk out the door to the Riverwalk

Just what downtown San Antonio needed. Besides the drinks being unique and yummy, the DJ was awesome. It was also nice knowing I could sit down if I wanted to and not every seat is reserved, like some nightclubs. They also offered food from Paesanos and I didnt have to leave Merkaba to get it. I arrived right before happy hour ended and ordered one of their featured cocktails for a reduced price. After that ended my friends and I shared their Rainbow drink. Yumm. Its in this huge beautiful glass that lights up. Go here, its great!

We had VIP passes to Howl at the moon, they told us to present passes around corner and the guy told us to go into this lounge. We bought drink and stared up stairs and we’re told we could not go up until we finished drinks. No piano in site!

THRILLED to have a new and unique cocktail lounge on the Riverwalk! The drinks are exceptional, the atmosphere is intriguing and you can tell alot of thought was put into the design and concept. Highly recommend swinging by!

Update: I was at merkaba, celebrating a friends birthday and when we got there we asked if there was any tables and they said no. Then while we were enjoying our time next to a table we waited for someone to leave they told us someone had just reserved a table and they made us move. That is complete BS and unprofessional. After we had just asked. I knew I should have never come back to this bar. Where they promised gift cards and never come through and I have the emails to prove it. Worst place ever ! DO NOT COME HERE, ITS CROWDED, and not worth it!!!!!! Also I have feeling it was because the people who they moved us for were white and we were not. So my friends and I feel racially discriminated against.I went to merkaba because some friends were there and I decided to meet them. It is definitely not like the photos you see online at least not on a Saturday night. However my issue comes when it was almost two and there was a horrible smell, at first it wasn’t that bad but then it got unbearable. It was a a mixture of sewer, and stink bomb. You could not breathe and I threw up in my mouth a few times with how bad it smelled. Everyone in there grabbed their stuff and made a run for the door because it was so bad. I am not sure if a pipe burst, someone has an accident on the dance floor or what exactly happens but I know I won’t be back here because the issue was not addressed even when half of the people who were inside were then standing outside. I hope you figure that out and maybe get some air freshener.
